Stampin’ Up! Occasions Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Occasions Sneak Peek!

I'm back today with a card I created for the monthly swap I'm in, using a sneek peek set, Just Thinking, from the Occasions Catalog which starts on January 3rd!
Just 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Just like my card from December 13th, I used basically the same layout with  another design from the Tea for Two Designer Paper, but I used Lucky Limeade for the card base instead of Early Espresso, and embossed a strip of So Saffron instead of Pool Party with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Folder from the Sale-a-bration brochure, then sponged with Crumb Cake ink!

I cut a mat of Soft Suede with a Window Frames Framelit, then cut out the Lucky Limeade-stamped Just Thinking image with a smaller-sized Window Frames Framelit. I punched the same image with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch after markering-and-stamping with Soft Suede and Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Markers.

*ETA:Oops! I just realized I used an Early Espresso marker on this sample, but for my swaps I used Soft Suede!

I added a flower clipped from the Vanilla 5/8" Flower Trim that has been sponged with Crumb Cake ink, then glue-dotted to a punched new 7/8" Scallop Circle that has been crumpled and sponged with the same Crumb Cake ink. I added the largest Basic Jewel Pearl (not jumbo) to the center of the flower with an extra Glue Dot, then added a smaller Basic Jewel Pearl to the flourish above the sentiment.

I continued the Vine Street-embossed theme inside, but stamped a phrase from another Occasions Catalog set, Make a Wish!

That's it for today, until next time, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stinkin', awesome, cute, yes? I was trying to start on January classes and workshops, trying to get a bit ahead of the game, and was just not feeling any inspiration, so I decided to so some internet browsing. When I checked out Pinterest and found this darling little teapot, my imagination just took off! I owe a BIG thank you to Ellen Kemper, the original creator of this teapot, and for her brief but adequate illustration of how it is achieved! This card will be one of our punch projects for January, so I won't give you the directions for the teapot until after my classes are over, but I can tell you that most of the teapot is made with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch, unbelievable!

Unfortunately, Ellen is no longer a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and has not been creating with punches for some time now, but I hope she takes up her passion sometime again in the future! She is a great punch artist!

I will show you the inside of the card before I give you some details:

Tea 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The designer paper used on the card front and for the teapot is called "Tea for Two" and will be available on January 3rd in the new Occasions Catalog! The embossing folder used on the Pool Party layer is called Vine Street and will be free with a $50 order beginning on January 22nd, the first day of Sale-a-bration!

See that strip of that's sort of  burlap-y looking? That's Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon, also from the Occasions Catalog! I did a lot of sponging on this card with Crumb Cake ink, but I didn't have to sponge the ribbon, it comes that way-looking all grungy and vintage!

The "love" word is from Lovely Little Labels in the Annual Catalog, punched out with one of the Little Labels Pack punches.

Seems like I can't make a punch project without using the Owl Builder punch, and this one is no exception! Can you tell which parts of the teapot are punched with the Owl?

The inside flower and words are from You Are Loved, which is one of my favorite sets because of the great words in it! I colored the flower and stems with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write markers, stamped off once on my grid sheet, huffed on the ink to re-moisten, then stamped on the lower corner of the layer to achieve the soft, gentle look.

That's all for today! I'm still working with new Occasions and SAB goodies I received in my pre-order last week! That's just ONE of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Affection Collection Catalog CASE!

Stampin’ Up! Affection Collection Catalog CASE!

I joined a Stamping Business Boot Camp that started this week, and WOW, is it ever keeping me on my toes! Each week we have tasks to accomplish, and if we miss even one, we are "booted" out of boot camp! I've never been "booted" out of anything in my life, and I sure don't want to start now! We have a week to finish our assigned tasks, and one of them this week was to CASE a card from the catalog, but use new colors and stamps. Here's the card I chose to case from page 36 of the Annual Catalog, "Road to Happiness:

Road to happiness
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

And here's my rendition using "Affection Collection" from page 35 of the Holiday Catalog:

Annual Catalog pg 36 Carol Payne
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

My colors are Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, and Naturals White! I used the "Paper Doily" sizzlet instead of the "Delicate Doilies" sizzlet, and used the Stamp-a-majig to position the scalloped fanfair exactly where I wanted it.

There are several other tasks on this weeks' list, but this was the most fun. The rest are mainly organizational, such as sort through my stampin' stuff and box up the retired, make a filing system for my forms and receipts, tasks like that!

Well, I'd better get back to it since I have the Mt Vernon Teacher's Conference tomorrow and Friday!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! Day!

Stampin’ Up! Pleasant Poppies!

Stampin’ Up! Pleasant Poppies!

Today I am featuring a new background stamp, Pleasant Poppies! For the first time with this new catalog several of our background stamps are available in both clear and wood mount, and this is one of them! My downline, Angela Henson, created this card as one of her swaps for convention. Angela has only been a demonstrator since March 2011, but already has promoted from Associate, to Senior Associate, Supervisor, Senior Supervisor, and now Manager! I am so proud of her! She also used the sentiment from "Field Flowers", Pumpkin Pie cardstock and ink, and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Shannon Bradley stamped the poppies on First Edition Specialty Designer Paper with Cherry Cobbler ink, then complemented it with Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Regals brads, and a Lots of Tags Sizzlet tag! She also embossed the "get well" phrase from "Perfectly Penned" in Pewter Embossing Powder before punching with the Extra Large Oval Punch.

Shoni Matney stamped the poppies in Summer Starfruit ink before adding all the butterfly layers using the "Beautiful Butterflies" Bigz Die with Summer Starfruit & Midnight Muse cardstocks, Patio Party DSP, and a Windowsheet! She added the "things of you" from "Sweet Essentials".

Stampin’ Up! Papillon Potpourri!

Stampin’ Up! Papillon Potpourri!

Today I thought I would start showing you some of my swaps from convention. I've managed to sort some of them into groups according to stamp set, so today I'm featuring "Papillon Potpourri"!

This swap somehow managed to lose it's maker's name. If you know who made this beautiful creation, please let me know! This swap was made with Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, as well as one of the Delicate Designs Folders, and the Elegant Butterfly Punch:

One of the great things about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is all the dear sweet friends you meet at events like convention and Founder's Circle. Dena Rekow is one of those sweethearts I am so proud to call my friend. Dena is a little powerhouse of energy but has been having a difficult time the past year. She created this one for her New Catalog Open House, a simple one-layer card but beautiful! Check out her blog:

Dena used a set from Petite Pairs for the greeting and the inside sentiment:

Swapping goes on everywhere at convention! One lunchtime I walked by a group participating in a SUDSOL swap and was fourtunate to snag this beauty from Catherine Harwood:

Floral District DSP, Elegant Butterfly Punch, and a sentiment from"Just Believe"!

Yes, I’m still here!

Yes, I’m still here!

All I can say about the last twelve days is busy, busy, busy! Right after my kickoff on Friday, June 1st, we took Logan to school in Rolla, MO, had the rest of the family at our house for Sunday dinner, then did the crafts for VBS at my church with my daughters, an overnight trip to Franklin, TN, to visit my husband's brother and we took the MIL with us. Then Sunday family dinner again, it all gets a little blurry sometimes!

We've also been dealing with the sudden, tragic death of one of my husband's cousins to a drunk driving accident. Craig's whole family was in the van when a drunk driver hit them. Craig had seen it coming and had pulled over as far as he could get against the guardrail at the Rend Lake Dam to protect his family and took the brunt of the impact. He died before they could get him out of the car. Such a shock. Such a waste. Such a devastation to this young family. He has four children, age 16 and under. Pray for his wife, Marla, their children William, Delores, Pierce, and JodiAnn. Pray for his parents, Russell and Martha, and his siblings, Rhonda, Audrey, and Keith. My heart goes out to them over and over again each day as I think about them and appreciate my family more.

This current week has also been filled with basically digging-out from the chaos of VBS week and workshops. I've had three so far this week with the fourth tonight and another tomorrow. It's a feast or a famine in the Stampin' Up! world sometimes, but I LOVE it.

With Father's Day coming up this weekend, here's a new creation using the new catalog set "Blue Ribbon" and my favorite new Designer Paper, "World Spectacular"!

Blue ribbon 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

LOTS of new products used here, including the "Chevron" Textured Impressions Folder and Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon!

I LOVE all the new Designer Papers in the new Annual Catalog! You really need to see them in person to really appreciate just how gorgeous they are! I always pretty much order at least one package of each of them as soon as we can order from a new catalog, but I was completely blown away when I opened up "World Spectacular"! The colors are so rich, deep, vibrant, and the designs are so vintage yet so very vesatile! I'm so glad I have a year to play with these!

And the inside:

Well, I'm off to Staples this morning to buy more ink! I'm almost out of some of my colors (my printer  says all of them are LOW!) but still have several more classes to prep for!

As you can see I have been creating, so I have lots to show you in the next few days!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
