Stampin’ Up! Almost Home From Fiji! Did you know I now work at the airport?

Stampin’ Up! Almost Home From Fiji! Did you know I now work at the airport?

We've been virtually LIVING in airports for the past two days! Eating, sleeping, waiting, over and over. I am starting to feel WAY too at home here! I'm posting this morning from the waiting area at the D2 Terminal at the Cleveland, OH airport, but I want to share a story from yesterday at LAX.
Going home 4
No, I don't really work at the LAX airport, I'm just using the electrical outlet at this kiosk after the employee went home. It was located immediately next to our waiting area, so it was easy to just power up while doing a little sorting of my Fiji pics. What's really funny is that people started stopping as they were getting off flights and were asking me for information! REALLY? I'm wearing capris and a hoodie! Do I REALLY look like I work here? SERIOUSLY?????

I just kept on saying, "No, I'm sorry, I don't work here", to everyone who stopped by until suddenly this little woman from Peru came up and starting asking me in Spanish-Portugese-whatever-they speak in Peru about her flight. Well, I COULDN'T make her understand that I didn't work there, so when she waved her ticket at me, off we went to check the flight board. Turned out her terminal was right beside where we were so I directed her there. We were both SO HAPPY, she started saying "gracias" and patting my arm, so I started to give her a quick hug and she kissed my cheek! WOW! She really made my day! I don't remember her name, but I won't forget her anytime soon! Small miracles while you wait at the airport, huh?

It's almost time to board our FINAL flight to St. Louis, so I will close with this gorgeous card I received in the "Swap with Me!" sponsored by Stampin' Up! while in Fiji:

Stippled Oh Hello
All supplies are©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

This swap was created by Vicky Kahlandt, a lovely new demo friend from Utah with a lovely English Accent! Vicky combined Stippled Blossoms with Oh Hello and Tea for Two Designer Paper from the Occasions Catalog.  She cut the ovals with the Ovals Collection Framelits, easy peasy! Both stamp sets will be in the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog beginning May 31, but the Tea for Two Designer Paper will NOT, so better grab some before it's gone!

You can go HERE to order TODAY!

Stampin’ Up! Tea Shoppe Tea for Two!

Stampin’ Up! Tea Shoppe Tea for Two!

Good Morning! I'm off to have a "Liam Day" today, but before I go I want to show you one of the three Technique cards we will  be making Saturday at my Punch/Technique Class!

I combined last year's Occasions Catalog favorite, Tea Shoppe stamp set with this year's Tea for Two Designer Paper, then added Delicate Details Lace Tape Masking, a technique Shelli Gardner demonstrated for us at Leadership:

Tea for two 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

You can see a hint of the lace tape masking on the card front, but it's much more evident on the inside, where I also used words from Blooming with Kindness, one of my favorite birthday phrases!

Tea for two 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Here's a quick overview of this technique:

Attach the lace tape to the cardstock "lightly", do not press it into the project so it will be easier to remove later. Sponge desired color over and around tape, filling in all the openings in the design of the tape. Crumb Cake was sponged on the Crumb Cake cardstock for this project.

Tea for two 6
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Finally, gently remove the tape to expose the lovely sponged design! This tape comes in two different designs in the package, so you have more variety. The tape is a type of tacky adhesive-backed plastic, so you can't really color ON it, but you can sponge over it, remove the tape, then re-use the tape on anther project (just be sure you wipe off any excess ink that may remain on the tape).

Tea for two 7
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

There are TWO more Technique projects coming up the next two days, so check back tomorrow and Friday!

Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden!

Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden!

I know this post is later than normal, but I'm here!

This card is one from my Punch/Technique Class this month. I call it "Embedded Embossing with Framelits"!

Embedded framelit embossing 1
©Stampin'Up! ™1990-2013

I stamped the Secret Garden flowers with Pretty in Pink ink on Pink Pirouette and the leaf stem with Soft Suede on Very Vanilla, then cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits. After SNAILing them to my card front I ran it all through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Folder.

Embedded framelit embossing 2
©Stampin'Up! ™1990-2013

The inside is stamped with a phrase from Feel Goods in the Occasions Catalog, and EVERYTHING, inside and out is sponged with Soft Suede ink!

It just wouldn't be Vintage without dirtying it up with sponging, would it?

Here's a close up of the embedded flowers with Basic Jewel Pearls accents:

Embedded framelit embossing 3
©Stampin'Up! ™1990-2013

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 5/8" Very Vanilla Flower Trim!

We counted a new package of them the other night. At $6.95, they are really a GREAT DEAL because the two yards contained 100 flowers! WOW!

Embedded framelit embossing 4
©Stampin'Up! ™1990-2013

Notice the ribbon trim along the front? It's actually one of the Flower Trim, but I cut between the spiraled "petals" and found this really delicate scalloped ribbon! After SNAILing it to the card front, I added the strips of pearls from the Basic Jewels Pearls pack.

Oh, BTW, the Designer Paper at the bottom of the card is Tea for Two!

That's all for today! Today I plan to play with some new ideas! I actually woke up the other night dreaming about a technqiue variation I'm dying to try!  Don't worry! If it works out I'll for sure show it to you!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up!

Besides going to the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL this month, I also had the chance to go see "Wicked" at the Fox Theater in St. Louis! My ticket was my Christmas present from my daughter, Kimberly! It was so much fun!

I've been hearing about the Fox for years, ever since my kids were in grade school and occasionally one of them would get to go as part of a school trip, but I'd never been so the whole experience was one of great anticipation, followed by no disappointment!

As probably many of you know, "Wicked" is a fun musical based on the well-known story of the "Wizard of Oz", but what I didn't know was that it tells a possible sequence of events leading up to and after the visit to Oz by Dorothy. Why DID the Wicked Witch of the West become so WICKED?

The Fox is a gorgeous place to visit just in itself, I highly recommend going if you get the chance!

Fox 1

Of course, the best reason I enjoyed it so much is because I got to go with my three beautiful daughters!

Fox 2

From left to right: Alisa, Kimberly, and Jessica. Who could ask for better?! I truly am honored to be their mother and am proud to say they are my best girlfriends!

Fox 3
Yes, it WAS COLD!!!!!!!

Here's one of my swaps I took to Leadership for an organized swap I participated in. I used the "Tea for Two" Designer Paper and the "Hearts a Flutter" Framelits:

A close-up of the inside:

I did the "Paper Quilting" technique for the heart and cut out some of the new Crepe Filter Paper  with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet. I love the Filter Paper, but don't think I will be using the Sizzlets with it again. Although most of the little "chad" pieces came out easily, it was not fun removing the remaining ones without tearing because of how delicate the paper is.

I used the Sale-a-bration set, "Bloomin' Marvelous" for the greeting and the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"  is from "From My Heart".

Well, I've got to get going. "Best of Birthdays" Class is this afternoon and my "Yes, Ma'am!" Downline Meeting is tonight!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Tea For Two!

Stampin’Up! Tea For Two!

Attention! We are interrupting our regularly scheduled program of Christmas cards to show you this:
Tea 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Stinkin', awesome, cute, yes? I was trying to start on January classes and workshops, trying to get a bit ahead of the game, and was just not feeling any inspiration, so I decided to so some internet browsing. When I checked out Pinterest and found this darling little teapot, my imagination just took off! I owe a BIG thank you to Ellen Kemper, the original creator of this teapot, and for her brief but adequate illustration of how it is achieved! This card will be one of our punch projects for January, so I won't give you the directions for the teapot until after my classes are over, but I can tell you that most of the teapot is made with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch, unbelievable!

Unfortunately, Ellen is no longer a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and has not been creating with punches for some time now, but I hope she takes up her passion sometime again in the future! She is a great punch artist!

I will show you the inside of the card before I give you some details:

Tea 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The designer paper used on the card front and for the teapot is called "Tea for Two" and will be available on January 3rd in the new Occasions Catalog! The embossing folder used on the Pool Party layer is called Vine Street and will be free with a $50 order beginning on January 22nd, the first day of Sale-a-bration!

See that strip of that's sort of  burlap-y looking? That's Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon, also from the Occasions Catalog! I did a lot of sponging on this card with Crumb Cake ink, but I didn't have to sponge the ribbon, it comes that way-looking all grungy and vintage!

The "love" word is from Lovely Little Labels in the Annual Catalog, punched out with one of the Little Labels Pack punches.

Seems like I can't make a punch project without using the Owl Builder punch, and this one is no exception! Can you tell which parts of the teapot are punched with the Owl?

The inside flower and words are from You Are Loved, which is one of my favorite sets because of the great words in it! I colored the flower and stems with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write markers, stamped off once on my grid sheet, huffed on the ink to re-moisten, then stamped on the lower corner of the layer to achieve the soft, gentle look.

That's all for today! I'm still working with new Occasions and SAB goodies I received in my pre-order last week! That's just ONE of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
