Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Stamp Sets I’ve Resisted!

Hey there! How did you like the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop yesterday? Our theme was Babies, and if you haven't taken it yet, you can go back to yesterday's post HERE,  to hop through all 13 blogs. You will end up back here so you won't forget check out today's swaps, o.k?

First, Ruth Bingle created a bright and cheery card with the new Annual Catalog set, Gift from the Garden:

Stampin_up_gift_from_the_garden

I loved this set the first time I saw it in the catalog, but have been resisting ordering it ever since. This card makes it harder and harder!

Why resist? I'm not really sure, except there are so many great sets in both the Annual and Holiday Catalog that I know there's no way I have enough time in my life to stamp with them all! You've heard the saying, "so many stamps, so little time"? That's me! lol!

Next, Audra Moncur used another set I've been resisting, Wild About Flowers!

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers

Audra used a classic color combo: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, and Whisper White with just a touch of Pear Pizzazz for the flower stems.

Finally, Carol Slack's creation uses another oft-resisted set, Heartfelt Sympathy:

Stampin_up_heartfelt_sympathy_2

I love her color combo of Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Whisper White!

Stampin_up_heartfelt_sympathy

Here's the stamp supply list for these three cards. If you can't resist these sets, and after this post I'm finding it almost impossible to hold out much longer, you are welcome to order your favorites from my online store:

Stampin’ Up! An English Garden Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! An English Garden Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's time for Sunday Swap Day again! yay!

I want to share with you a little of my day yesterday. Some of you may remember that I'm the baby sister in my family. Our parents are long gone, and my brother and sister live about 3 hours away in Decatur, IL, so I don't get to see them very often. They are getting older, which of course I am too, so I treasure every chance I get to spend a little time with them.

Every time we take a picture together, my brother, Don, always says, "I'm just the rose between two thorns"! He's also the only person who calls me "kiddo" and gets away with it!

My sister, Connie, and I just love our big brother to pieces!

8-8-2015

As we headed home, my family indulged me in a little trip down my memories' lane. This is the school I attended through 6th grade, Oak Grove. I really think this is the same chain link fence that was in place when I attended there in the 60's. My daughter, Alisa, who was with us, commented, "Decatur is a Wonder Years town"!

8-8-15 Oak grove

We stopped by the house I lived in until I was 11 1/2. It doesn't look anything like it did back then (who painted over the soft butter yellow?), but the maple tree out front is still there. Oh, how many times did my mother make me get down from that tree because I wasn't supposed to be climbing it?

8-8-15 1067 N Summmit

A really neat thing happened while I was taking this picture. A lady sitting on her porch next door started calling, "Hellooooo, can I help you?" and when I answered her that I was just checking out the house because I lived there when I was a little girl, she asked me who I was. When I told her my maiden name, she remembered me! Turns out she lived next door to me back then, only she was a teenager! Who would've guessed that over 40 years later someone I know would still live next door?

We drove through Fairview Park so I could show my family the "bikini tree". This tree has been wearing a painted "bikini" for over 50 years! She's not lookin' too bad for an old lady, eh?

8-8-15 bikini tree

We also stopped by the church I attended faithfully with my parents when I was little. This church is responsible for my early training in my belief in God and the Bible. I'm also a fan of pipe organ music because of the marvelous instrument this church has!

8-8-15 central christian

I always had an excellent view of the church service. . . from the balcony! Apparently I was quite the squirmy chatterbox, so rarely did we sit on the main floor.

8-8-15-balcony

If you've lasted this long, THANK YOU and congratulations! Now you get to see some swaps!

First, Mary Waring stamped the Watercolor Thank You stamp with Tuxedo Black ink on English Garden Designer Paper, adding an Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower in Rose Red and stamping Crumb Cake  on the Crumb Cake card base with the splatter stamp from Perpetual Birthday Calendar:

Stampin_up_watercolor_thank_you

Next, Sue Berreth combined English Garden and Farmer's Market Designer Paper with the Brick Wall Folder and a Bold Butterfly framelit. She partially stamped a phrase from Me = Grateful, cutting it out with a Tags & Labels Framelit.

Stampin_up_me_equals_grateful_1

Sue stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside for a simple yet effective finish:

Stampin_up_me_equals_grateful_2

Third, Barbara Nagle combined the English Garden paper with the Watercolor Wings set for her tag card punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch:

Stampin_up_watercolor_wings

Finally, Rhonda Bassler used one of my favorite color combos: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, and Soft Suede, adding a pop of Old Olive with the Garden in Bloom set. Can you see the little strip of English Garden paper peeking out from behind the layers cut with the Tags & Labels Framelits?

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Awesomely Artistic on Sunday Night!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Awesomely Artistic on Sunday Night!

Hey there. This is a late post, but my computer is sick (again!) I'm on a laptop that's super-duper slow. It also needed about 129 updates, which ended up TAKING. ALL. DAY.

This evening I have a few cards from the mail-in swap I participate in every month, all using the Awesomely Artistic set!

First, Ann Betty stamped the dragonfly and flowers from Awesomely Artistic on Very Vanilla before embossing with the Brick Wall folder and cutting with a Tags & Labels Framelit. She stamped the same flowers on the Sahara Sand, then colored with a Pear Pizzazz marker.

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_1

Next, Jackie Ordway stamped the "texture" stamp down the left side to give a fabric look. The "thanks" is from the Another Thank You set.

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_2

Finally, Laura Milligan used Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, and Memento Tuxedo Black for her creation. Little snippets of White Organza and Bermuda Bay Sequins. OH. MY.

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_3

That's all for now. I WILL be posting again on Monday, so PLEASE COME BACK!

Here's one supply list for all three cards. You can order everything from my online store: carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday, and today I will be heading home from the 2015 Stampin' Up! Convention Inspire, Create, Share. I've had a blast these past three days, but I will be glad to get home to see my family!

Of course, Sunday also means it's Swap Day! I'm bringing home a BUNCH of swaps, so don't despair that I might run out. I've got swaps to last for many Sundays!

The first swap for today was created with the From Land to Sea set, however, I don't have the creator's name.

Stampin_up_from_land_to_sea_1

Next, Kathy Morgan used the new Get Well Soup single stamp for her creation. Looks like chicken soup to me!

Stampin_up_get_well_soup

Tamie Ackerson used Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe for her pretty sample with the You've Got This set.

Stampin_up_youve_ve_got_this

Ruth Anne Lilley also used You've Got This, but she embossed the flower with gold powder on vellum, then colored on the back side with a Watermelon Wonder Stampin' Write Marker. The Brick Wall embossing folder makes a nice background. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Stampin_up_youve_got_this_2

Last but definitely not least, this card combines the No Bones About It set with a design from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack. The strip of Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim adds just the right amount of bling. This card has lost it's identity while being flown across the country to convention!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday, time for more swaps! yay!

First, Karen Kurz used the Brick Wall Textured Impressions folder to create the background for this card using the Pretty Thankful set. After embossing the Cajun Craze card stock with the folder, Karen used her White Gel Pen to accent the lines of the bricks and to add little dots to give them more texture. She created an arched window behind the cut out tag by adding a simple punched circle. Flowers punched with the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents punches finish off her creation.

Stampin_up_pretty_thankful

Next, Kelly Acheson used one of my personal faves, Definitely Dahila. She added a strip of Everyday Chic Designer Paper to the Delightful Dijon card base, then stamped a sentiment from Lovely Amazing You.

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia

Amy Combs combined the Friendly Wishes set with Bohemian Designer Paper, adding the coordinating Bohemian Designer Washi tape to the end of her tag.

Stampin_up_friendly_wishes_1

Finally, Luann (no last name given) used Friendly Wishes, Timeless Elegance Designer Paper, and the Fancy Fold Corner Technique:

Stampin_up_friendly_wishes_ 2

The inside of the card front shows the flap even better:

Stampin_up_friendly_wishes_4

I NEED to learn how to make this card! It's on my list of "must do's" for after I get home from Convention!
