Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, so it's time to share some swaps! With the current catalog winding down, there's only one more Sunday after this one to share some of these!

Some of these are swaps I have and some are swaps I took pictures of at OnStage, so some I don't have any creator's names.

First, Susan Vilar used Garden in Bloom with Dapper Denim, Old Olive, and Watermelon Wonder to create a fresh look!

Stampin_up_garden_in_bloom_carolpaynestamps1

Next, the creator of this card used Wild about Flowers with Old Olive and Calypso Coral. The Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions folder and Layering Ovals Framelits give depth and texture.

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers_feather_together_carolpaynestamps1

The creator of this card CASED a sample from the Occasions catalog using the Lift Me Up Bundle. These stamps and framelits WILL be carrying over to the new catalog, but they WON'T be bundled any longer. To save 10%, be sure to order the bundle in wood-mount or clear-mount by May 31st!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps

Speaking of the Retiring List, Yummy in My Tummy is on it! Kathy Morgan created a fun shaker card, adding in a Balloon Adventures greeting, which is also on the Hit List!

Stampin_up_yummy_in_my_tummy_carolpaynestamps

This card by Sandy Carlson features By the Shore Designer Paper that IS retiring, but the Seaside Shore stamp set is NOT.

Stampin_up_seaside_shore_carolpaynestamps

Cathy Miller created a fun z-fold card with the No Bones About It set. The Boho Chic Textured Impressions folder she used on the Soft Sky layer  and Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twind ARE retiring.

Finally,  Dena Tarkowski combined the carry over sets, Swirly Bird and Cool Treats for a bright and happy card!

Stampin’ Up! An English Garden Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! An English Garden Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's time for Sunday Swap Day again! yay!

I want to share with you a little of my day yesterday. Some of you may remember that I'm the baby sister in my family. Our parents are long gone, and my brother and sister live about 3 hours away in Decatur, IL, so I don't get to see them very often. They are getting older, which of course I am too, so I treasure every chance I get to spend a little time with them.

Every time we take a picture together, my brother, Don, always says, "I'm just the rose between two thorns"! He's also the only person who calls me "kiddo" and gets away with it!

My sister, Connie, and I just love our big brother to pieces!

8-8-2015

As we headed home, my family indulged me in a little trip down my memories' lane. This is the school I attended through 6th grade, Oak Grove. I really think this is the same chain link fence that was in place when I attended there in the 60's. My daughter, Alisa, who was with us, commented, "Decatur is a Wonder Years town"!

8-8-15 Oak grove

We stopped by the house I lived in until I was 11 1/2. It doesn't look anything like it did back then (who painted over the soft butter yellow?), but the maple tree out front is still there. Oh, how many times did my mother make me get down from that tree because I wasn't supposed to be climbing it?

8-8-15 1067 N Summmit

A really neat thing happened while I was taking this picture. A lady sitting on her porch next door started calling, "Hellooooo, can I help you?" and when I answered her that I was just checking out the house because I lived there when I was a little girl, she asked me who I was. When I told her my maiden name, she remembered me! Turns out she lived next door to me back then, only she was a teenager! Who would've guessed that over 40 years later someone I know would still live next door?

We drove through Fairview Park so I could show my family the "bikini tree". This tree has been wearing a painted "bikini" for over 50 years! She's not lookin' too bad for an old lady, eh?

8-8-15 bikini tree

We also stopped by the church I attended faithfully with my parents when I was little. This church is responsible for my early training in my belief in God and the Bible. I'm also a fan of pipe organ music because of the marvelous instrument this church has!

8-8-15 central christian

I always had an excellent view of the church service. . . from the balcony! Apparently I was quite the squirmy chatterbox, so rarely did we sit on the main floor.

8-8-15-balcony

If you've lasted this long, THANK YOU and congratulations! Now you get to see some swaps!

First, Mary Waring stamped the Watercolor Thank You stamp with Tuxedo Black ink on English Garden Designer Paper, adding an Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower in Rose Red and stamping Crumb Cake  on the Crumb Cake card base with the splatter stamp from Perpetual Birthday Calendar:

Stampin_up_watercolor_thank_you

Next, Sue Berreth combined English Garden and Farmer's Market Designer Paper with the Brick Wall Folder and a Bold Butterfly framelit. She partially stamped a phrase from Me = Grateful, cutting it out with a Tags & Labels Framelit.

Stampin_up_me_equals_grateful_1

Sue stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside for a simple yet effective finish:

Stampin_up_me_equals_grateful_2

Third, Barbara Nagle combined the English Garden paper with the Watercolor Wings set for her tag card punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch:

Stampin_up_watercolor_wings

Finally, Rhonda Bassler used one of my favorite color combos: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, and Soft Suede, adding a pop of Old Olive with the Garden in Bloom set. Can you see the little strip of English Garden paper peeking out from behind the layers cut with the Tags & Labels Framelits?

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Here's a little bit of what we did last night for the 4th: sparklers for Oakley!

Oakley 4th of july 2015 2

I had issues with my camera on the night setting, so this pic is really blurry, but I still caught the joy on his face!

Oakley july 4th 2015 1

His mommy and Uncle Logan with him the whole time, so he always supervised.

Oakly 4th of july 2015 3

Despite those pesky mosquitoes, we had a great 4th!

Thank you for being patient. I know you really come by to see me to see some Sunday Swap Day creations:

First, Katy Simecka paired Garden in Bloom with English Garden designer paper. She added a pop of Melon Mambo ribbon, flower center, and sentiment layer!

Stampin_up_garden_in_bloom_1

She left the inside blank except for those adorable bumble bees crawling in and out. So easy and CUTE!

Stampin_up_garden_in_bloom_2

Next, Jan Rodrian used the Circle Card Thinlets Die with the I Think You're Great set. She used Mint Macaron Envelope Paper, Gold Glimmer-punched stars, and a Soft Suede-punched Fun Flower to back her greeting:

Stampin_up_I_think_youre_great_1

Of course, Circle Cards ALWAYS flip, so Jan used a sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts for the flip side!

Stampin_up_I_think_youre_great_2

The watercolor look is a big trend right now, and the new Watercolor Words set gives you lots of choices! Susie Wood chose "just for you" from this set for her creation:

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_3

Sue Berreth used "hope" with a flower and heart from Watercolor Words. This is a lovely flat card that still has a lot of depth by embossing the image layer with the Brick Wall folder:

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_4

Finally, Ruth Bingle combined Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, and Pear Pizzazz, then adding PInk Pirouette 1/2" Seam Binding  while using "you're the best" from Watercolor Words:

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_1

This card is left blank to be ready for almost any occasion!

Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom in Night of Navy!

Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom in Night of Navy!

Hey there! We had a great day yesterday celebrating our family's fathers!

My dad has been gone over 20 years. I cherish the love he had for me, my siblings, and my children. My dad was an "old dad". He didn't marry until he was 30. My mom was just barely 15 when they married, but they were married for over 30 years before she died. My brother was 18 and my sister was 12 when I came along, and my dad was 52!

As I married and my babies came along, Dad said my kids were his reason to live, so I gave him 6 reasons!

Today we celebrated with our kids and grand babies. The kids wanted a picture with their dad:

1511730_10153072115971374_8620450447805721400_n

This man has been my rock for almost 38 years. He's kind, honest, trustworthy, handsome, smart, funny, loving, and stubborn! He's quiet to my chatty, frugal to my extravagance, and he has the best head of hair I've ever seen on a guy! God knew what he was doing when he put us together!

Today's card is another version of the card I showed you HERE.

A different sheet from the English Garden Designer package, coordinated with Soft Suede and Night of Navy card stock and inks.

The same Ornate Tag Topper Punch, with Gold Metallic Thread tied around Night of Navy 1/2" Seam Binding. LOVE that thread!

Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom!

Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom!

Hey there! I have been stamping! I KNOW. It's been a while. I had some major time commitments earlier this month, but finally I got to stamp!

One of my first creations back at my crafting table is this little beauty with Garden in Bloom stamps and English Garden Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_garden_in_bloom_1 - Copy

The English Garden Designer Series Paper makes it look like you've spent HOURS stamping. All you have to do is take a deep breath and CUT this gorgeous paper!

After stamping the 2" x 3" Whisper White I punched the left side with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. I threaded about 4 inches of Venetian Crochet Trim through the hole, then tied it off with Metallic Gold Thread. This thread is extremely thin, but sturdy. It adds just a tiny glint of sparkle!
