Stampin’ Up! Happy Mother’s Day Sunday Swap Day May 14th

Hey there! Everyone will be coming to our house for lunch today for Mother's Day! I can hardly wait!

I have a bunch of butterfly-themed swaps to share with you today, starting with Tandra Boyer's gold heat-embossed Beautiful Day on Watercolor Paper:

These Tutti-frutti Adhesive-backed Sequins and Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes are retiring. Be sure to check those out in my online store because one of them is discounted!

Next, Tamie Ackerson created a Pop-thru card with the Retiring-but-sold-out Butterflies Thinlets and Retiring-but-not-yet-sold-out Bold Butterflies Framelits:

She layered a small vellum butterfly over the Old Olive/Whisper White wings, then tied with Linen Thread.

The butterfly pops through the Classic Label-punched slot. The greetings are from carrying-over Better Together.

The artist of this card also used the sold-out Butterflies Thinlets and sold out Fluttering Textured Impressions Folder, but the greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday is NOT retiring.

Finally, Mary Lang used retiring-but-not-sold out Bold Butterfly Framelits with the retiring You've Got This stamps. She used a scallop template to sponge blue ink to create clouds, and punched the bottom edge with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.

Stampin’ Up! You’ve Got This Black Ice!

Hey there! Here's another card I created with the Black Ice technique with the retiring You've Got This set!

I lightly swiped Basic Black ink over the Silver Foil sheet, then stamped the bloom with the same ink. I dried the ink with my Heat Tool before coloring one bloom with Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light Old Olive, and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

I dried the ink again with my Heat Tool, then lightly dragged the Versamark pad over the whole piece. After sprinkling with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder I heated it all with my Heat Tool and viola! Black Ice!

Sequins from the Metallic Assortment adds extra bling! "Thinking of You", is from retiring Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I kept the inside a simple black and white to help the front colored bloom to really pop!

Stampin Up! You’ve Got This, a Stampin’ Blends Sneak Peek!

Hey there! I needed a card to match a belated wedding gift garnished with a fall spray from Hobby Lobby, so I used a You've Got This stamp to match the one in the spray!

This card previews a sneak peek of the new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, available to order tomorrow, November 1st!

I rubbed a Bermuda Bay ink pad on the negative side of the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder before embossing a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock. After embossing with the Big Shot, this gives the background a much richer look. I stamped the bloom from You've Got This with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on Shimmery White card stock before coloring with Light and Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Markers. I added some Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to the center, Old Olive to the leaves and stem, and used the Stampin' Color Lifter to blend and soften the colors. Stampin' Blends make you look like a pro without the problems!

This present is for a couple who were married in July (we weren't able to attend the wedding), so I used this elegant greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched with the Classic Label Punch. Anytime during your first year of marriage you are a newlywed, right?

I used 1/4" Copper Trim for my embellishment (shown here on an experimental card with Fun Foam) The Copper Trim is pretty tied in a neat bow, but it becomes gorgeous when you pull the fibers apart!

When you stretch the fibers you end up with this unique and fancy bow! I love it!

Inside I used a sentiment from the Rose Wonder set. Again, this sentiment is appropriate for a wedding gift any time in the first year, or even an anniversary!

I colored the inside bloom with my Stampin' Blends markers. As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I get to pre-order new products to play with them before customers can order them. We've had alcohol markers before, but there were manufacturing problems that necessitated a recall. After playing with them a bit, I think they've got all of the kinks worked out and I love them!

Stampin’ Up! A Bouquet to Get Better!

Hey there! I try to stamp a little every day, but of course priorities take first place. But right now I have a nice little stack of projects lined up to share!

Today's project I'm mailing to a friend who just had surgery. She's a stamper, so I'm sure she will appreciate this simple card I created with Birthday Bouquet designer paper and a greeting from A Dozen Thoughts:

I started with a card base of Mossy Meadow, then added a layer of Watermelon Wonder.

The phrase "better get better" from A Dozen Thoughts is ideal for this get well card. I punched with the Washi Label Punch, then added two more Watermelon Wonder punched labels behind.

The Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim I used for the bow is perfect!w It's stretchy , soft, and ties easily. I secured the knot with a glue dot. This ribbon, along with all of the other 2015/2016 In Color 1" Dotted Lace Trims, will probably be retiring on May 31st. Stampin' Up! usually brings out new embellishments to enhance the second year of In Colors in the new catalog, so if you love this ribbon as much as I do, you need to order some NOW because when it's gone, it will be GONE!

Inside I used images from "You've Got This" because they resemble the flowers on the designer paper and because the sentiment echoes the purpose of the surgery.

Changes, changes, changes. They happen all the time, don't they? I created a camo background with Gorgeous Grunge and the cross-hatch stamp from You've Got This.

I used the "you've got this" phrase for a masculine theme for an older birthday.

"Happy Birthday" from the Tin of Card set has the bold look needed to complete this card.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday, and today I will be heading home from the 2015 Stampin' Up! Convention Inspire, Create, Share. I've had a blast these past three days, but I will be glad to get home to see my family!

Of course, Sunday also means it's Swap Day! I'm bringing home a BUNCH of swaps, so don't despair that I might run out. I've got swaps to last for many Sundays!

The first swap for today was created with the From Land to Sea set, however, I don't have the creator's name.

Next, Kathy Morgan used the new Get Well Soup single stamp for her creation. Looks like chicken soup to me!

Tamie Ackerson used Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe for her pretty sample with the You've Got This set.

Ruth Anne Lilley also used You've Got This, but she embossed the flower with gold powder on vellum, then colored on the back side with a Watermelon Wonder Stampin' Write Marker. The Brick Wall embossing folder makes a nice background. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Last but definitely not least, this card combines the No Bones About It set with a design from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack. The strip of Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim adds just the right amount of bling. This card has lost it's identity while being flown across the country to convention!
