Stampin’ Up! Lotus Blossom!

Hey there! It's another FREEZING cold day here, but that can be said for much of the U.S., can't it? Last night I got to stamp with a lovely group of ladies that I love. Their group is not actually a club, because we keep having new stampers coming every month, but their event is a Mystery Hostess Stamp Camp!

Here's how it works:

Each stamper brings a finger food of their choice to the event. (if they can't bring a snack that's o.k. too) Everyone has the choice to either pay the flat $10 stamp camp fee or place an order of at least $30 to stamp the 4 cards for free. Everyone who places an order gets their name in a drawing to see who gets the Host Benefits from the combined total of the night's orders. Whoever was the hostess the month before is excluded from the drawing, even though they usually place an order anyway.

It works out pretty well; everyone seems to be happy and has a great time stamping, snacking, and visiting!

Here's one of the cards we made last night. This was inspired by a Leadership swap:

I just realized as I was adding my watermark to these pictures that it is out-of-date. It's 2015, isn't it? I've been so involved with my grandbabies that I haven't had time to think about my watermark date! Guess this goes on my "to do" list for next week!

This set, Lotus Blossom, is one of the sets you can choose from the Sale-a-bration brochure when you place a $50 order. About half of the stampers placing orders last night chose this set for their freebie!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Hey there! Things have been really busy around here for what seems like forever, but tomorrow it's going to get even busier because Miss Darcy is coming! yay!

Tomorrow morning at approximately 7:30 a.m, Miss Darcy Anne Jenkins is scheduled to make her debut! We are all excited, as well as a bit anxious. A c-section, while routine, is a serious surgery. We will all be breathing a prayer of thanks when mommy and baby are safe and sound.

While we are waiting, and hoping to get a little bit of sleep before setting off for the hospital pre-6 a.m., how about a few swaps?

Ruth Bingle created her swap with the Big Day Sale-a-bration set using the Frosted Window technique:

The "frosted window" is created with clear packing tape over the punched circle, then sprinkling the sticky side with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Next, Cathy Stephenson used Butterfly Basics, punching the Bitty Butterfly from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, which is on sale through Monday, February 9!

Raedean Shibata used Balloon Framelits with Celebrate Today to create a stunning anniversary card. She punched the edge with the Confetti Stars Border Punch, adding Silver Foil paper behind the stars for more shine.

Inside is finished with a banner from Celebrate Today and A Dozen Thoughts sentiment.

Finally, Jackie Ordway used Something Borrowed Designer Paper and a phrase from the For the New Two for her elegant wedding card. The Something Borrowed Embellishment is found on page 42 of the Occasions Catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Papillon Potpourri Lattice Spring Card!

Hey there! Thought it was time for a really spring-y card! I received a version of this card as a swap last spring, and I've been "saving" it for a workshop card whenever the right group needed it. A workshop I was scheduled to do has had to be postponed, so I thought I would share this to give us a bit of spring after this long, long, loooong winter:

It'a actually a pretty easy card – the Lattice Bigz Die and the Papillon Potpourri stamps & Bitty Butterfly punch make it easy!

The inside of the card I haven't been saving because I used the "You're Lovely" Sale-a-bration set, which didn't even exist last spring when this card was first created! I thought this open-label stamp was perfect to use this phrase from Petite Pairs. I was originally thinking it would be a birthday card, but it would also make a great "thank-you" or "thinking of you" card!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Watercolor!

Hey there! Today is my "Happiest Day" class for February! yay! I love to play with my stamps all on my own, but I love it even more when friends come over to play with my stamps with me!

Today's card is one we will be making in class using the Happy Watercolor stamp set from the Occasions Catalog. This card is inspired by a swap I received from Tamra Davis at Leadership last month:

We are using the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder on the card front, then stamping a flower stem from Simple Stems and adding Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper (free with a $50 order from the Sale-a-bration brochure!) flowers punched with the Pansy and Petite Petals Punches. The greeting is stamped and punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, then layered on piece of Sweet Sorbet paper that has also been punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch!

The Crisp Cantaloupe Twine is from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (free with a $50 order from the Sale-a-bration brochure!). We are piercing a hole through the card front with a Paper-Piercing Tool to thread the twine through before tying in a bow.

Inside we are stamping with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen with Jet Black StazOn ink, then stamping with another free Sale-a-bration item, Petite Petals, with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, and Pistachio Pudding.
