Stampin’Up! Wonderful Blessing!

Stampin’Up! Wonderful Blessing!

Good morning! We interrupt "What to Washi Week" to bring you this brand spankin' new creation:

Wonderful blessing 1

I created this with the new Wonderful Blessing single stamp (#134779 $8.95). I gold heat-embossed the image, along with Flowering Flourishes images on Midnight Muse cardstock.

I decided to use the "Double Door" or "Gatefold" layout. Here's the basic design:

Cut two card bases
8 1/2” x 4 ¼”. Score each at 2 1/8” and 4 ¼” on the 8 ½” side with Simply
Scoring Tool. Use the smaller end of the scoring tool to score your lines. This
lets the folds come together more closely when you put the card together. Fold
both bases into a “z” shape as shown in picture #2. Attach 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” sections
to each other to form card back with SNAIL.

I then cut the circles for the "doors" with the Circles Collection Framelits. It's not easy to describe this step. Maybe I will do a video for this card soon, we'll see! Leave me a comment if you would like to see this card in a video!

Wonderful blessing 2

I'm lovin' how this card turned out!

Wonderful blessing 3

The "merry christmas" is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, embossed on Midnight Muse and punched with the Word Window punch. I punched some of the new Gold Foil sheets with the Modern Label punch to layer behind it.

Wonderful blessing 4

That's all for now! I'm going to read to my grandson, Cohen, in his kindergarten class today for Grandparent's Day, so we shall see what I accomplish after I get home!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week! Gingham Garden!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week! Gingham Garden!

Good morning and happy Thursday! Liam is here today! In a different routine today, Liam's daddy dropped him off at my house with me for a few hours while he takes care of some things, then he is picking him back up and taking him home for the rest of the day. So I'm getting my "Liam fix" today! yay! I admit it, I'm crazy about him!

Today's card is one I CASED from a Convention Board sample I found online:

Gingham bitty butterfly 1

Gingham Garden Washi Tape on a Whisper White layer, attached to an Island Indigo card base. A greeting from Yippee Skippee, stamped in Melon Mambo, is accented by an Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack scallop flower in Daffodil Delight. The flower is finished off with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

Bitty butterfly gingham 2

The Bitty Butterfly frame (Bitty Butterfly Punch is on sale in the Butterfly Bundle 15% off!)

Download the flyer here:

Download Flyer_ButterflyBundle_Demo_8.29-9.30.2013_US

was created in the same way as the Mosaic Punch ornament shown HERE. The Melon Mambo cardstock was punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch FIRST, then the Artisan Label was punched around it. I embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder before attaching it over the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape with Stampin'Dimensionals.

Here's my inside:

Gingham bitty butterfly 3
More Gingham Garden Washi Tape, accented by the Bitty Butterfly punched out of the frame on the card front with a tiny Rhinestone Basic Jewel! The verse is from Remembering Your Birthday.

That's all for now! Hope you have a chance to create & play a bit today!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week! Witches’ Brew!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week! Witches’ Brew!

Good morning! Have you had a chance to view my first video yet? If not, go back to yesterday's post and follow the Youtube link to check it out!

Today's card for "What to Washi Week!" uses the Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape in an unconventional way. Just like my baby card I posted HERE, I used the same skull-patterned roll from the pack, only this time I created a BIRTHDAY card!

Skull bday 1

The greeting is from the Photopolymer set, Bombs Away Birthday, which is what gave me the idea to pair the stamp with the washi tape.  I then created the skull and crossbones by punching a Basic Black owl with the Owl B uilder punch, trimming off the owl's ears and feet, then punching two Modern Label punches and hand-trimming them to look more bone-like! The skulls' eyes are Whisper White punched with the largest circles in the Owl Builder punch.

Skull bday 2

Inside I used a strip of the Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape again, then stamped the "happy birthday" bomb stamp from Bomb's Away Birthday.

That's all for now, but who knows what else I may come up with to share with you?

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week! My First YouTube Video!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week! My First YouTube Video!

Good morning! I made a video! My very first one! It's rough, and I still have a lot to learn and figure out, but I'm on my way!

You saw this card last week using the Wishing You stampset and Season of Style Washi Tape, but since it's What to Washi week, it qualifies!

Mosaic Washi 1

And here's the video:

Well, it's a Liam day today, then I'm having a 31 Gifts Party tonight, so I have to run!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week!

Good Morning! Happy Labor Day! Hope you are going to a picnic, ballgame, or some kind of fun, yummy gathering today! My church has held a Labor Day Picnic since before my husband was born, so that's where my bunch is headed today!

I've been playing with my Washi Tape again!

Washi tree 1

All week I will be featuring projects using Stampin' Up! Designer Washi Tape! We have four different designs, two in the Annual Catalog and two in the Holiday, so I'm excited to use them all for you this week!

I used Season of Style Designer Washi Tape with Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar, and Whisper White cardstock. After laying down the strips of washi tape on a Whisper White scrap I cut it with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L die to create my tree. I used the Modern Label to punch the tree trunk. I embossed the Old Olive layer with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder, then added Basic Jewel Rhinestones to the centers of the embossed snowflakes. I added several rhinestones, scatterning them all over the tree for a good dose of bling!

This was my first time using one of the Expressions Thinlets Dies, and I am impressed! I had done some research of how to get the best results with these dies, so tried the tip to put a layer of wax paper against the die before adding the cardstock. There are several tiny holes in the die, so after cutting with the Big Shot I was able to pop out the word quite easily! I left the wax paper in the die for future use.

My next challenge was how to attach this eensy-weensy, skinny little word to my project, so I tried applying  Tombow Multipurpose Glue to the back side of "Merry" with a toothpick:

Washi tree 6

As you can see I didn't glue the whole word, just the tops and bottoms of the letters and at the areas where the letters intersected. This was just enough adhesive to make the word attach without being goopy!

Washi tree 3

Inside the card I stamped the "christmas" word from Seasonal Sayings, then punched the left-over washi layer with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Merry Minis Punch Pack for the little trees.

Washi tree 5

I needed a piece of cardstock for the Pennant Builder Punch tree, so used a Baked Brown Sugar-punched Merry Minis tree! With just the trunk showing below the edge of the tree, it worked perfectly!

Washi tree 4

This will be one of the cards we make at my monthly Christmas Card Class this next Friday! Stamping seats are still available, so RSVP to me today!

All supplies to make this card can be found in my Online Store:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Hop on over there to order your Season of Style Washi Tape! A pack goes a long way, but you might want to order at least a couple because when the Holiday Catalog is over on January 2nd, it will be gone forever. You will probably want to pick up the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder or the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die and Petite Pennants Builder Punch too if you don't have them!

Remember, every $25 you order gets you "Bluesox Rewards" to earn tokens toward a free Stampin' Product!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
