Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop, New Catalog Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop, New Catalog Sneak Peek!

Hey there! A little early this month because of the cruise, but it's time for the hop!

GV Blog Header

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for May. This month our theme is 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek. We are so excited to be able to show you these amazing BRAND NEW products that you will be able to purchase on June 1st!
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Carol Payne Stamps, or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Carol Payne.
For my Sneak Peek creation I took some inspiration from my sister Stamper's Dozen Blog Hopper, BJ Peters. BJ combined the new Painter's Palette and Love & Affection stamp sets to create a really awesome One-Sheet Wonder Class. I CASED her idea of combining those two stamp sets, as well as her color palette of Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Pear Pizzazz. I added my own twists to it by using a Basic Black card base, subtle splatters of Crumb Cake, and a fun fold!
Painter's Palette has a really fun easel image, so I decided to play on that and created an "Easel-Easel" card!
Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy
It looks like an ordinary card at first, but then when you open it, TA DA!
Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy
This color palette of Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White just screamed at me to add more Basic Black, so that's why I made it my easel card base. It''s simply an extra score line and an additional layer: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" and  8 1/4", with an added layer of Basic Black that starts out at 3 5/8" x 4 7/8".
Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy
The fonts of both stamp sets coordinate well. "sending a smile your way" from Love & Affection is the perfect size for the "door stop" for the easel to stand.
Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy
LOTS of room for sentiments and a personal message too!
All of these products will be available to order in my online store on June 1st! www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss them all! Remember that currently you are at my blog – Carol Payne, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Bouquet Big News!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Bouquet Big News!

Hey there! I finally downloaded the final card for the #imbringingbirthdaysback Birthday Card Class! I've eliminated the Friday night class (tonight), kept the Saturday class (1-5 p.m.), and added a Monday night (16th) class  (5-9 p.m.)

Today's card uses the diagonal slash card layout again:

Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Retiring items used: Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper, Big News stamp set, Pool Party 3/8" Glitter Ribbon, Iced Rhinestones, and Lost Lagoon card stock and ink.

Non-retiring: Flower Shop stamp set, Whisper White card stock, White Vellum card stock, clear embossing powder, Pansy Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, and Heat Tool.

Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

Lost Lagoon just about a tie in my "Most Beloved In Colors", right up there with Blackberry Bliss!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps - Copy

DID YOU KNOW??? Classic ink doesn't dry on vellum card stock, so you can sprinkle with Clear embossing powder and heat emboss! I used this technique with Lost Lagoon ink and clear powder on vellum, heated, then punched with the Pansy Punch. I layered onto a Lost Lagoon-stamped pansy for more dimension, adding the Iced Rhinestone with an extra glue dot to secure on the slickness of the embossing.

Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps5 - Copy

Inside I used simple Lost Lagoon ink  on  white. I lined the envelope with another Birthday Bouquet print.

As of this morning, all of the supplies were still available to order in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Heat Tool

$30.00
Glue Dots

Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages Shaker Card!

Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages Shaker Card!

Hey there! Last night I finally created my final card for the May Online Class using Marquee Messages. The new catalog also has  cool new dimensional foam strips, perfect for creating shaker cards, so I made today's card into a shaker:

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_shaker_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Versatile for a girl or a boy, I used Pacific Point, Real Red, and Whisper White. I embossed the white with the Lucky Stars folder, then heat-embossed the marquee image on both Real Red and Pacific Point with white powder. I stamped the silver sparkles on the back side of  Silver Glimmer paper, cut them out, peeled off the slick backing, then added with glue dots.

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_shaker_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

Oops! I just realized from the above picture the window sheet used for the top of the shaker is peeking out from the outside edge of the Real Red layer! I will fix that with just a snip or two of my scissors!

Some shakers have the greeting stamped inside the shaker behind the shaker "thingys", but after snipping the center of the Real Red marquee there wasn't much room left so I stamped "YOU ARE" on top of the window sheet with Staz-On ink.

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_shaker_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I punched Silver Glimmer Paper with the Medium Star Punch, adding to my shaker with sequins from both the Brights and Metallic Sequin Assortments.

Stampin_up_foam_adhesive_strips - Copy

Here are the new foam strips in action! They come in long strips to lay along the edge of your shaker window, cutting them the length needed. Remove the top protective strip and they are ready to adhere to the card!

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_shaker_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Inside I only added one word, "happy" from Endless Birthday Wishes, to the Marquee Messages words. I added a little bit of Clear Wink of Stella and called it done!

Again, Marquee Messages and the foam strips won't be available to order until June 1st, but you can order the rest of these supplies in my online store right now: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz Rose Wonder!

Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz Rose Wonder!

Hey there! Today I have another card created with the Rose Wonder set. I kept the design and embellishments to a minimum. Sympathy cards are definitely not about calling attention to the creator.

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_1 - Copy

Old Olive card base, a layer of Blackberry Bliss, then stamping on Pear Pizzazz with the largest rose image in Rose Wonder.

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_2 - Copy

After stamping the greeting with Blackberry Bliss I embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Folder. This gave the card the subtle textured it needed. I finished with a simple Gold 1/8" Ribbon bow.

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_3 - Copy

Inside I traded the Pear Pizzazz layer for Whisper White, stamping the same rose image with Pear Pizzazz and adding another Rose Wonder phrase.

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_5 - Copy

In addition to the lovely rose images and phrases in this set, I was especially drawn to this scripture. Isaiah 41:10 is one of my favorite verses of God's promise, "FEAR NOT for I am with you . . ." This promise is a comfort in good times and bad.

You can make so many different cards with just the Rose Wonder set: birthday, thank-you, wedding, sympathy, thinking of you.
