Stampin’ Up! Let the Good Times Roll and More!

Stampin’ Up! Let the Good Times Roll and More!

Hey there! Next week  at my meeting for my team, the Yes Mam! Stampers, we are having a Shoebox Swap, where everyone brings a card they've created with all of the supplies to make it in a "shoebox". We all get to make each other's cards, and it's a blast!

I will share those cards with you after the meeting, but I remembered I had the cards we made at the Yes Mam! Christmas party still waiting to be shared. Linda Reaney and Joanne Cantrell both attended OnStage Live with me in Salt Lake City, Utah,  and I asked them to create projects for us with the new goodies they were able to pre-pre-order. OnStage attendees get to pre-order from a selection of new catalog products before the rest of the demonstrator population. It's one of the perks of attending a Stampin' Up! event! All Stampin' Up! demonstrators were allowed to pre-order from everything in the Occasions Catalog on December 1st, which is just ONE great perk of purchasing the Demonstrator Starter Kit!

First, Linda used the Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-bration set. She combined the set with Gold Glimmer Paper and Eastern Medallion Thinlets Dies for a sparkly look!

Stampin_up_beautiful_peacock_carolpaynestamps1

We used Soft Sky, Dapper Denim, and Lemon Lime Twist with a layered banner of Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration) under Tutti Frutti 6"x6" Designer Series Paper in the middle. We stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Peacock with Dapper Denim to punch with the Classic Label Punch. The random little flowers and medallions stamped with Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist are the perfect touches around the focal image!

Stampin_up_beautiful_peacock_carolpaynestamps3l

Joanne Cantrell created a super-simple-but-super-cute card with the Party Pandas Sale-a-bration set. A layer of Garden Green was embossed with one of the two Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, and a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon was added to tie it all together! Simple and quick!

Stampin_up_party_pandas_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Joanne embossed a Basic Gray card base with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as a "castle background" for the dragon and the wizard from Magical Day (new in the Occasions Catalog!)

Stampin_up_magical_day_carolpaynestamps1

We stamped the dragon with Basic Gray ink on the Basic Gray card front before we embossed with the Brick Wall Folder.

Stampin_up_magical_day_carolpaynestamps2

We colored the Wizard with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Marker, as well as the Ivory Stampin' Blends for his face and hands. We added Clear Wink of Stella to his beard for some wizard-y sparkle!

Stampin_up_magical_day_carolpaynestamps3

Joanne created cards for us from simple to complex! We used the Let the Good Times Roll bundle of stamps and Thrill Ride Pop-Up Thinlets Dies to create this fun card:

Stampin_up_let_the_good_times_roll_carolpaynestamps1

Inside is a fun surprise, a pop-out roller coaster!

Stampin_up_let_the_good_times_roll_carolpaynestamps2

I will admit, it is a little fiddly, but the result is fun. I would recommend you only purchase this bundle if you like a challenge and enjoy a learning curve. As you can see, my roller coaster base front layer is popping up a bit, showing that I would need to make a few more of these before I felt proficient enough to offer this in a class. Alas, I don't plan to, but you are welcome to give it a go!

Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday Candles!

Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday Candles!

Hey there! The Picture Perfect Party Suite on pages 4-5 of the Occasions Catalog are so bright and happy, it just makes me smile! One of the really wonderful products in this suite is the Picture Pefect Party 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper: 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs (that means you have 24 different designs to choose from in this pack!). One  side of each page is photo-realistic, meaning it is an actual photo. In the case of this paper the photos are of birthday party items: donuts, party hats, cookies, balloons, candles, noise makers, etc.

For my card today I used the birthday candles print. Each sheet is 6" x 6", so I cut it in half at 3" to make two card fronts.

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_birthday_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped the Picture Perfect Birthday greeting with Basic Black ink, then added sprinkles I inked with a baby-wipe "ink pad" I created with Berry Burst and Bermuda Bay ink refills. I added a couple of rhinestones for some sparkly bling.

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_birthday_carolpaynestamps2

Stylized Birthday coordinates perfectly with this suite!

Stampin_up_stylized_birthday_carolpaynestamps1

I used two-step stamping images to create the package "bow" on this 3" x 3" notecard:

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_birthday_confetti_carolpaynestamps1

Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, and Peekaboo Peach are fresh and happy colors!

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_birthday_confetti_carolpaynestamps2

There is a surprise inside this card! To coordinate with the "cue the confetti" phrase, I snipped pieces of Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist, and Peekaboo Peach card stock into confetti to have ready to burst out the the card when opened!

Stampin’ Up! Bubble Over!

Stampin’ Up! Bubble Over!

Hey there! Today is the start of the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration! yay!

The card I'm sharing today was the fifth and final one we made at my Stampin' In The New Year Stamp-a-Stack last Saturday. It started out as one of the Make n' Takes at the November OnStage Event I attended with some of my team. I loved it so much I modified it a bit and included an inside so it would work for my class!

I used the Bubble Over Bundle of stamps and framelits dies, Bubble & Fizz Designer Series Paper, and Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes in addition to the Bermuda Bay card stock and Lemon Lime Twist and Calypso Coral inks. See the supply list at the end of this post for more details.

Stampin_up_bubble_and_fizz_carolpaynestamps

Please excuse the "yellowness" of my photos. I'm trying to figure out what has changed with my camera, which is just a little point-and-shoot. The setting and lighting has not changed, but there's a good chance one (or more!) of my grandkids may have played with it during Christmas!

There are several products in the Sale-a-bration brochure that coordinate perfectly with Occasions Catalog suites. For this card I used the Bubble & Fizz Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration Catalog wit the coordinating Bubble Over Bundle in the Occasions Catalog.

I love all of the images in Bubble Over, but the "bubble & fizz" image I used to stamp the Lemon Lime Twist background and around the Stylized Birthday greeting on the inside was what really sold me on this set! I played with this set a bunch before Christmas; you'll be seeing more creations with it soon!

Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday!

Hey there! While Petal Palette is my #1 favorite from the Occasions Catalog, the number two spot is taken by the Picture Perfect stamp set. In fact, I love everything in the entire Picture Perfect Party Suite on pages 4 & 5 of the Occasions Catalog!

Before Christmas I had a chance to sit down one day to create with the suite. I used a color combo suggested by the colors in the Picture Perfect Party 6 x 6" Designer Series Paper Stack: Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, and Whisper White! I used the Happy Birthday Thinlet Die to cut out a Bermuda Bay greeting to layer over the designer paper that looks like confetti sprinkles. I embossed the white background layer with the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_birthday_carolpaynestamps1

I cut a second greeting from Berry Burst to layer under the Bermuda Bay one for lift and more color interest.

While not part of the Picture Perfect Party Suite, I added Tutti-Fruitti Adhesive-Backed Sequins because they are fun and easy! Did you notice the words "adhesive-backed"? All you have to do is slide the tip of your Paper Snips or the end of your Paper-Piercing Tool under the sequins and transfer to your project! I LOVE these!

Inside I stamped the Picture Perfect Birthday sentiment with Bermuda Bay ink, then created a mini custom ink pad by dripping a few drops of Bermuda Bay and Berry Burst ink onto a folded baby wipe so I could ink the confetti stamp to stamp around the words.

I stamped the three different candles that are part of Picture Perfect Birthday with Bermuda Bay and Berry Burst ink, stamped the flames with So Saffron, and then added the yellow Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed sequins over the flames. I LOVE the coordination between suites in the Occasions Catalog, as well as the way they also coordinate with Annual Catalog products!

I cut a second greeting from Berry Burst to layer under the Bermuda Bay one for lift and more color interest.

Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette Triple Time!

Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette Triple Time!

Hey there! The card I'm sharing today we won't be making at the Stampin' In the New Year Birthday Card Stamp-a-Stack, but I wanted to share it with you now because I love it so much and it's also made with the Petal Palette stamp set!

I have two versions of this card. The first is what I would call Triple Time Clean-and-Simple. The layers are also shifted to the left instead of centered in traditional Triple Time, which does make it a little trickier to line up before and after stamping, but I love the look!

I used Pool Party for the card base and the mat layers, and Whisper White for the image layers.

Stampin_up_petal_palette_triple_time_carolpaynestamps2

To stamp the layers triple-time, I used a tiny bit of adhesive behind each layer to keep them in place while stamping. I inked the bloom/leaves image with Bermuda Bay ink, then used a baby wipe to remove the ink from the leaves. I inked the cleaned leaves with Old Olive using a Stampin' Write Marker. I stamped all of the layers at the same time for the triple-time effect.

I used the measurements on my grid sheet to line up the edges of the layers 1/2" apart. This is the key to the Triple-Time Stamping technique.

After stamping I took the layers apart and backed each one with a Pool Party layer that is 1/4" longer and wider than the stamped layer it is adhered to. After adhering all of the layerts to the card base I added a bow tied with Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon using a glue dot. I also added a single Petal Passion Embellishment with a glue dot.

My second version is stepped-up by embossing all of the stamped layers with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder before I took it apart to add the Pool Party layers.

This one is actually my fave!

There are two different styles in the Petal Passion Embellishments pack, the flower and this little leafy branch. Both can be added to your projects with glue dots, or tied with narrow ribbon, baker's twine, or thread.

Stampin_up_petal_palette_triple_time_carolpaynestamps7

I stamped the inside of both cards the same using a Petal Passion phrase with Bermuda Bay ink. To stamp the bloom/leaves I simply breathed (huffed) on the previously inked image before stamping to get a lighter, faded look.
