Hey there! Next week at my meeting for my team, the Yes Mam! Stampers, we are having a Shoebox Swap, where everyone brings a card they've created with all of the supplies to make it in a "shoebox". We all get to make each other's cards, and it's a blast!
I will share those cards with you after the meeting, but I remembered I had the cards we made at the Yes Mam! Christmas party still waiting to be shared. Linda Reaney and Joanne Cantrell both attended OnStage Live with me in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I asked them to create projects for us with the new goodies they were able to pre-pre-order. OnStage attendees get to pre-order from a selection of new catalog products before the rest of the demonstrator population. It's one of the perks of attending a Stampin' Up! event! All Stampin' Up! demonstrators were allowed to pre-order from everything in the Occasions Catalog on December 1st, which is just ONE great perk of purchasing the Demonstrator Starter Kit!
First, Linda used the Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-bration set. She combined the set with Gold Glimmer Paper and Eastern Medallion Thinlets Dies for a sparkly look!
We used Soft Sky, Dapper Denim, and Lemon Lime Twist with a layered banner of Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration) under Tutti Frutti 6"x6" Designer Series Paper in the middle. We stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Peacock with Dapper Denim to punch with the Classic Label Punch. The random little flowers and medallions stamped with Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist are the perfect touches around the focal image!
Joanne Cantrell created a super-simple-but-super-cute card with the Party Pandas Sale-a-bration set. A layer of Garden Green was embossed with one of the two Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, and a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon was added to tie it all together! Simple and quick!
Next, Joanne embossed a Basic Gray card base with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as a "castle background" for the dragon and the wizard from Magical Day (new in the Occasions Catalog!)
We stamped the dragon with Basic Gray ink on the Basic Gray card front before we embossed with the Brick Wall Folder.
We colored the Wizard with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Marker, as well as the Ivory Stampin' Blends for his face and hands. We added Clear Wink of Stella to his beard for some wizard-y sparkle!
Joanne created cards for us from simple to complex! We used the Let the Good Times Roll bundle of stamps and Thrill Ride Pop-Up Thinlets Dies to create this fun card:
Inside is a fun surprise, a pop-out roller coaster!
I will admit, it is a little fiddly, but the result is fun. I would recommend you only purchase this bundle if you like a challenge and enjoy a learning curve. As you can see, my roller coaster base front layer is popping up a bit, showing that I would need to make a few more of these before I felt proficient enough to offer this in a class. Alas, I don't plan to, but you are welcome to give it a go!
