Stampin’Up! Swallowtail Postcard!

Stampin’Up! Swallowtail Postcard!

Hey there! This afternoon I have a class at the Cozy Table in Benton, IL, with a really great group of stamper/friends. I can hardly wait!

I created today's inspiration for my Birthday Card Buffet back in February:

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_1 - Copy

I combined the Swallowtail Background, Postage Due, and the largest Butterflies Framelit Die with Baked Brown Sugar and Perfect Plum ink. I mounted it all on a Mossy Meadow single-flat-layer base. (no fold)

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_3 - Copy

I stamped-off the Postage Due images I had inked with the Baked Brown Sugar before stamping the Swallowtail Background with full-strength Perfect Plum. I cut out the butterfly using the dryer sheet/waxed paper technique to help all the tiny little cut-out pieces to be easily removed.

I originally colored the Pearl Basic Jewel Embellishment with a Rich Razzleberry Blendability marker, but since the Blendabilities are no longer available to order you could use a Sharpie marker in a coordinating color as a replacement.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_4 - Copy

I stamped  "my friend" from And Many More with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_2 - Copy

On the flip side of the Mossy Meadow "postcard" I stamped the Postcard Background on the Very Vanilla layer with Tuxedo Black ink, then added the greeting from the Occasions Catalog Hostess set, Because You Care.

Sponging with Baked Brown Sugar ink all around the edges of the front and the back add to this cards' vintage feel.

We stamped and sponged a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, lining it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar Designer Paper cut with the largest Envelope LIner Thinlets Die.

Stampin’ Up! Lego Block Card for Cohen!

Stampin’ Up! Lego Block Card for Cohen!

Hey there! I went to see the Cinderella movie with all three of my granddaughters last night. It's a clean, uplifting story. You'd think there couldn't be anything left to do with this classic fairytale, but Disney did it well! 10420311_10152846722561374_7820857114375260772_n
l to r: Ava Claire (9), Darcy Anne (5 weeks), Maddie Kate (13)

I created this card for my grandson, Cohen's,7th birthday in February. I made it without knowing that his birthday party theme was Legos!

Stampin_up_remembering_your_birthday_1 - Copy

It's a really simple card to put together, just corner-rounded edges, circle punches, sponging, a bit of White Chalk Marker, and a Remembering Your Birthday phrase cut with an On Film Framelit Die!

Stampin_up_remembering_your_birthday_2 - Copy

It's the sponging with Real Red ink on the Real Red cardstock that gives this card its' depth. Just a little swipe with the White Chalk Marker on each of the Lego circles is all it takes to finish it off!

Stampin_up_remebering_your_birthday_3 - Copy

Inside I kept it minimal with the companion phrase from Remembering Your Birthday and a stamp from the Life's Adventure Hostess Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I lined the envelope with a piece of Maritime Designer Paper to continue the young-masculine look.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop March Edition, Stamping Home Decor!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop March Edition, Stamping Home Decor!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

Hey there! It's the 15th, which means it's Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop Day! March's theme is Home Decor, which is a bit of a challenge for me, but it's good to stretch out of your comfort zone, right?

If you are already on the hop, you probably just came from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps!  I always love Stella's projects, don't you?

To start my quest for ideas for home decor, I went to Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby. The first thing I picked up at Dollar Tree was an open-weave twine place mat. I actually picked up three of these in spring green, tangerine tango, and midnight muse. I still have ideas for the other two, but this is the result with the spring green mat:

Stampin_up_all_abloom_bow_builder_punch_wreath_1 - Copy

Wreath forms can be pricey sometimes, so finding these place mats for a dollar was a deal I just couldn't pass up. I think it looks pretty wreath-ish, yes?

Stampin_up_all_abloom_bow_builder_punch_wreath_3 - Copy

I cut the "hello spring" letters with my Little Letters Thinlets Dies from Strawberry Slush Backgrounds Designer Paper. They are layered on a hand-cut Whisper White banner, layered on two strips of 1 1/4" Burlap ribbon that I banner cut the ends too.

I didn't even have to worry about a hanger on the wreath because my wreath hook fits through the open-weave of the place mat perfectly!

But here's the BEST part of this wreath: the flowers were made with the Bow Builder Punch and the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack that is on sale in the Weekly Deals through tomorrow!

Here's the supply list for this project. You can find all the supplies in my online store: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/

I know the price shown below for the All Abloom Designer Paper Stack says $6.95, but trust me, it's on sale for $5.21 through 11:50 p.m. MT Monday night!

Stampin’Up! Natures Perfection in Black & White!

Stampin’Up! Natures Perfection in Black & White!

Hey there! Last night I had a fun time stamping with several of my downline, the Yes, Mam! Stampers! I met a couple of new members, and connected with established friends. We stamped, shared, laughed, inspired, and challenged each other. I haven't been able to have a meeting for several months, but this one was so much fun, I already have another one planned for April!

Today's cards are a complete 180 from all the color of the past few days. I decided  to create using only black and white:

Stampin_up_natures_perfection_1

I combined the March-only SAB set, Nature's Perfection with the Build a Bouquet stamp set and a greeting from Blessed by God. This is simple stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White, mounted on a Basic Black card base. The only embellishments are a single rhinestone and pieces of Stacked with Love Designer Washi tape.

Stampin_up_natures_perfection_2

The inside sentiment from the Build a Bouquet set is in direct contrast to the lack of color, I know, but one thing about stamping with just black & white – when you're done, you're done!

I tried this same layout and color scheme with the Sheltering Tree and Endless Birthday Wishes sets:

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_1

No, I don't know WHY I stamped the tree hanging from the sky, but for some crazy reason I like it! I added hello and spots from Endless Birthday Wishes because I really like the font of the word, and the spots could be stars, snow, birds, or whatever you imagine them to be!

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_2

Should try this same layout with the same stamps,  but with a riot of color? Hmmm.

Here's the combined supply list for these cards. You can find everything you need to try your own "study in black & white" in my online store:

http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/

Nature's Perfection Clear Stamp Set

Nature's Perfection Wood Stamp Set

$17.95
Build A Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set

$33.95
Rhinestone Basic Jewels Embellishments

$4.95

$4.95
Basic Black 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock

$6.95
Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock

$8.50
Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set

$24.95
Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set

$13.95
SNAIL Permanent Adhesive

$6.95

This is probably the smallest supply list ever for two cards!

Don't forget:

When your order is at least $50 before tax & shipping, you get to choose a free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure or March SAB flyer.

Any online order of any amount will qualify to receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me. This includes orders from the Weekly Deals, Clearance Rack, Occasions Catalog, or Annual Catalog.

That's all for now, until tomorrow, which is Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop Day, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Hey Valentine for a Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Hey Valentine for a Birthday!

Hey there! This card was in my latest newsletter, but if you don't subscribe you didn't get to see it. A hostess liked a valentine card in my display, but I changed it for a birthday. I played around with the fishy stamp, Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Paper, and Irresistibly Yours Specialty paper to come up with this:

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_1 - Copy

A Bermuda Bay card base, a strip of Birthday Bash Specialty, and a strip of Irresistibly Yours that I rolled on Crushed Curry ink with my brayer started my card. I added a "Polaroid" Basic Black frame cut with the On Film Framelits Dies. After stamping the fish with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party Stampin' Write Markers, added googly eyes,  and a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. A Coastal Cabana button from the Sale-a-bration Best Year Every Accessory Pack, a bit of Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine, and a Calypso Coral arrow cut with a framelit also from the On Film Framelits Dies were the finishing touches.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_2
To change this stamp from valentine to birthday, I selectively inked the stamp, leaving the "valentine" word un-inked. After stamping, I then added "happy birthday" from my faithful stand-by set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_5

Inside was made complete with a sentiment from the Perfect Pennants set, and a 1/2" strip of Birthday Bash paper along the side. I always make sure I stamp a coordinating look on my envelope too.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_3

As my final touch I stamped just the tiniest fish on the bottom corner, but I rocked my stamp a bit and stamped an extra "edge". You can't remove those edges, as there is no such thing as an "ink eraser", so I made the best of it by adding a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the edge using my 2-way glue pen. It looks like more of the water swirls on the front of the card!

This card is one  of  three Online Class cards for March. Place an order of at least $35 in my Online Store and I will ship the project packets and instructions to make 6 cards, two each of 3 designs.

To change this stamp from valentine to birthday, I selectively inked the stamp, leaving the "valentine" word un-inked. After stamping, I then added "happy birthday" from my faithful stand-by set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Inside was made complete with a sentiment from the Perfect Pennants set, and a 1/2" strip of Birthday Bash paper along the side. I always make sure I stamp a coordinating look on my envelope too.
