Stampin’ Up! Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015!

Stampin’ Up! Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015!

Hey there! I confess I am really bad about sending cards. A big confession, since I make cards ALL. THE. TIME.

Even with all of the beautiful cards I have made, I never have just the "right one". I guess it's the perfectionist in me; if I can't do it the way I want, I don't do it at all.

Can you relate?

However, a sister demonstrator posted this quote I'm trying to make my motto: "Strive for PROGRESS, not perfection".

With that in mind, I made a card for a dear friend who wishes she could go see "Wicked". I was inspired by this swap from Amy Combs using Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015:

Stampin_up_project_life_seasonal_snapshot_1

Amy used spiders from A Little Something, and embossed the Pumpkin Pie layer with the Lucky Stars folder.

My creation:

Stampin_up_project_life_seasonal_snapshot_3 - Copy

I used Cucumber Crush for my background layer, embossing with the Chevron folder.

"Wicked", and the magic sparkles, which are actually snowflakes, are both from Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015. I added rhinestones for bling in addition to the Black Glimmer paper witch hat, cut with a Boo To You Framelit.

Stampin’ Up! Hey Valentine for a Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Hey Valentine for a Birthday!

Hey there! This card was in my latest newsletter, but if you don't subscribe you didn't get to see it. A hostess liked a valentine card in my display, but I changed it for a birthday. I played around with the fishy stamp, Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Paper, and Irresistibly Yours Specialty paper to come up with this:

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_1 - Copy

A Bermuda Bay card base, a strip of Birthday Bash Specialty, and a strip of Irresistibly Yours that I rolled on Crushed Curry ink with my brayer started my card. I added a "Polaroid" Basic Black frame cut with the On Film Framelits Dies. After stamping the fish with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party Stampin' Write Markers, added googly eyes,  and a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. A Coastal Cabana button from the Sale-a-bration Best Year Every Accessory Pack, a bit of Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine, and a Calypso Coral arrow cut with a framelit also from the On Film Framelits Dies were the finishing touches.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_2
To change this stamp from valentine to birthday, I selectively inked the stamp, leaving the "valentine" word un-inked. After stamping, I then added "happy birthday" from my faithful stand-by set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_5

Inside was made complete with a sentiment from the Perfect Pennants set, and a 1/2" strip of Birthday Bash paper along the side. I always make sure I stamp a coordinating look on my envelope too.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_for_a_birthday_3

As my final touch I stamped just the tiniest fish on the bottom corner, but I rocked my stamp a bit and stamped an extra "edge". You can't remove those edges, as there is no such thing as an "ink eraser", so I made the best of it by adding a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the edge using my 2-way glue pen. It looks like more of the water swirls on the front of the card!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Card for Cody!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Card for Cody!

Hey there! What do you think of the Virtual Online Christmas Card Class? I hope you will join us  as we make 24 projects (plus bonus projects!) If you missed the info you can read all about it by clicking HERE.

My son-in-law, Cody, was 29 on Sunday (shhhh . . . I think he plans to celebrate this birthday number next year) He's a P.E. teacher, coach, and all-around sports enthusiast, so . . .

Stampin_up_remembering_your_birthday_1 - Copy

The "yay" is from the Circle Card Thinlets Dies. "Yay" is my go-to word when I'm happy, excited, or just plain ol' approving! yay!

I punched two baseballs with the 2 1/2" Circle punch, then used the second circle as my guide to trace two seams on the ball with a Real Red marker. The chevrons are also in the Circle Card set. After cutting 12 from Real Red cardstock I trimmed them down 1/8" on each side with Paper Snips, then adhered to the seams with Tombow Glue.

Stampin_up_remembering_your_birthday_2 - Copy

"Make A Wish" from Perfect Pennants was inked with Real Red & Night of Navy markers. The star die is also in the 10-die Circle Card set. Clouds are punched with the Cupcake punch, then embossed with the Decorative Dots folder.

Stampin_up_remembering_your_birthday_3 - Copy

I finished with an edge of "grass" cut with Fringe Scissors and adhered with Sticky Strip.

I cut the larger larger "Remembering Your Birthday"  sentiment, with a Word Bubbles Framelit.

Here's the supply list for Cody's card. Please click on this link to shop in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’Up! Calling All Heros for Ben!

Stampin’Up! Calling All Heros for Ben!

Hey there! August in the Payne family means SIX birthdays! We start the month with Liam, then Ava, Kimberly, Ben, me, and finish up with Cody! Liam and Ava had parties that included both sides of their families (grandparents and friends), but we always try to get all the Payne Clan together one Sunday to celebrate the month's birthdays. Right now we have no birthdays in January, March, April, & June, but Alisa's new little one will most likely fill in January, so soon we may have a birthday celebration every month of the year!

Ben has always liked superheros, so I used the Calling All Heros set to make a grown-up card for him. You can see the little-guy card I made for Liam HERE.

Stampin_up_calling_all_heros_1

The Circle Card Thinlets Die set was perfect for this card. The star thinlet is included in the set, and the Calling All Heros contains the alphabet!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Babies and Birthdays!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Babies and Birthdays!

Hey there! It's Sunday again, which means it's time to share some swaps!

First, this card isn't a swap, it's a project we made at one of my stamp camps recently. We used the Alphabet Textured Impressions folder to emboss the onesie we cut from a template, then embellished with the little tie from Something for Baby cut with the tie framelit from Baby Firsts framelits, and a phrase from Something to Say.

Stampin_up_something_for_baby_to_say

Next a cute litle side-step card using more from Something for Baby and Baby First Framelits.

Stampin_up_something_for_baby_1

I love the little rubber ducky stamp!

Stampin_up_something_for_baby_2

Lastly, a really cute birthday card combining Perfect Pennants, Endless Birthday Wishes, and Cycle Celebrations:

Stampin_up_endless_birthday_wishes_1

The cut-out candles almost look real and waxy, don't they?

That's all for now! I had a chance to start playing with my Holiday Catalog stamps, so come back tomorrow to see what I've been up to!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Birthdays are Great!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Birthdays are Great!

Hey there! I had an open Saturday (something that RARELY happens for me) so I was able to stamp for fun! I went with a group of my stampers to Gigi's Retreat in Dix IL! I highy recommend it. Tonya really spoils you with good food, snacks, tons of paper crafting supplies at your fingertips, and a gorgeous place to craft!

We are off to Effingham to day for Cohen's baptism. He and his cousin, Justus, are being baptised by their Hollis grandpa, so Mark & I are going up for the service.

Today I have a few more swaps to share before some of the products completely retire:

Stampin_up_another_great_year_1
Kathy Morgan used Another Great Year (not retiring!) with Eastern Elegance Designer Paper (retiring) and Label Collection Framelit to create this fun easel card.

Stampin_up_another_great_year_2

Gold Foil Vellum and Baked Brown Sugar ink make this card happy!

Brenda Hukriede used Retro Fresh Designer Paper, Bring on the Cake stamps (retiring) and the Banner Punch:

Stampin_up_bring_on_the_cake_1

Brenda had a surprise inside:

Bring_on_the_cake_2

Your own personal cake! So fun!

Lastly, Cindy Ewertz used Epic Day  Paper and Create a Cupcake stamps (sold out in clear but still available in wood) to create  a shaker card:

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_1

Perfect Pennants, Gold Sequin Trim, and the Fringe Scissors to make easy confetti:

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_2

Bring on the Cake (retired and completely sold out, sorry!) for the Happy Birthday:
