Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home!

Hey there! Today I have the second sympathy card I created a few days go, this time with Sailing Home, Drybrush Background, and a little bit of Comfort & Hope!

After I created the Comfort & Hope card I shared with you HERE, I got to thinking that Drybrush could look like shiplap, or the paint peeling off of the hull of a ship, so I stamped a Whisper White panel with Misty Moonlight ink and loved the look!

After stamping and cutting out the lighthouse with a Smooth Sailing die, I cut another lighthouse from Misty Moonlight to cut in half vertically so I could layer it on each side of the stamped one to give it more depth and stand out from the Drybrush background of the same color.

I love this sentiment from Sailing Home. I cut it with the Story Label Punch and added a Misty Moonlight In Color Enamel Dot for my finishing touch!

Inside I used the Comfort & Hope sentiment. Sympathy cards are hard to make. This sentiment is perfect when there is nothing you can say to make it better.

Dimensions:

Whisper White Thick card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored & folded at 4 1/4"

Whisper White layer: 4" x 5 1/4" for lighthouse and greeting label: scraps inside sentiment layer: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

Misty Moonlight inside layer: 4" x 5 1/4" for lighthouse mat and greeting label mat: scraps

Stampin’ Up! The Man, The Myth, The Legend!

Hey there! It's time for the June edition of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop, THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND.

My card today was created with my husband in mind, but was also inspired by a comment one of my Yes Mam! Stampers made about my Tasteful Touches Emboss Resist card I posted HERE. She said it looked like the Milky Way, which inspired me to create a "Milky Way" card for my husband who loves astronomy:

I used two sparkle images from two different stamp sets, Hippo Happiness and Pattern Play, to silver emboss the stars, then sponged white craft ink in a diagonal swath to create the "Milky Way"!

I used a sentiment from Sailing Home on the front:

And a sentiment from Many Mates inside.

Stampin’ Up! Sunburst Sailing Home!

Hey there! Today I have a set of Sunburst technique cards created with the Sailing Home Bundle and Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper! I'm playing with my designer papers before they go on the Retiring List next week!

I used heat-embossing with white powder to create the greeting for this one that I also punched with the Tailored Tag Punch. I stamped the entire sentiment, "Let HOPE be your anchor through the storms of life" with Night of Navy ink on a scrap of white, then used Paper Snips to cut out the single word, HOPE.

I used the entire sentiment inside:

For my second sunburst Sailing Home card I used a top fold and a combo of heat-embossing first, then stamping over the embossing with the Night of Navy sailboat.

I also used the "motion stamping" technique – stamping the sailboat multiple times without re-inking to get the look of movement. (I stamped from right to left)

For my final card I turned the card landscape, then heat-embossed the lighthouse from Sailing Home before cutting with a Smooth Sailing die.

I used the lighthouse inside the card too. I love it!

The Come Sail Away Designer Paper will most likely be on the Retiring List that comes out on April 22nd, so don't wait! Order a package today!

Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home Matchbook Gift Card Holder Card!

Hey there! I've been MIA for a few days for two reasons: last week I ran the Grammie Hotel for several of my grand-kids on various days, as well as a boarding house for my Grand-dog! I LOVE having them all here, but as you know, when you're lovin' on the grands everything else has to take the backseat! This week Vacation Bible School, (akaVBS), is in full swing at my church and I'm the Craft Director. We'll be over half done after tonight, so I'm finally able to share another creation with you!

I created this card as a graduation gift-card holder for my cousin's son, with the Come Sail Away Suite:

This card is another "matchbook" style that I turned into a gift card holder.

I used a masking technique to achieve the look of a "moon" in the background.

I cut out the "congrats" greeting with on of the Smooth Sailing Dies. The greeting banner also serves to hold the card shut. I colored Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon with my Night of Navy Light Stampin' Blend marker.

Inside the card is attached to the upper layer so it "pulls-up" when the card is opened.

I adhered a gift card inside with a couple of glue dots.

Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home Easel!

Hey there! I created today's card with the Sailing Home Bundle. with inspiration from Donna Ross. I turned my card into an easel fold, which if you've followed my blog for any length of time you know I LOVE easel folds! I used Whisper White Thick card stock to give the folds more substance, then layered on a stripey piece of the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper before starting to add of the elements I cut with a Stitched Nested Labels Die and the Smooth Sailing Dies.
I heat embossed the sailboats and birds with white embossing powder.

I added a Sail Away Trinkets with a glue dot, then tied a bit of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Twine.

I love the detail of the Smooth Sailing Dies. I adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiments in the Sailing Home Stamp set are so0000 great! This card would be good for a graduation.
