Stampin’Up! Liam’s First Birthday Dragon!

Stampin’Up! Liam’s First Birthday Dragon!

Hello! Big party last night for Liam's first birthday! It's hard to believe he's one already! Time sure does fly, especially when it's a little one's first year!

Here's a few shots from his big day:

Liam 2

He started seriously pursuing walking the night Cousin Oakley was born:

Liam 1

His Dragon Cake! Ever since Liam was a little guy his theme has been castles, knights, and dragons! This cake was a collaboration between his mommy and daddy.

Liams cake

He needed a little help from both parents to blow out his candles!

Licking the icing off the cupcake is the best part!

My girls with their babies!

All six cousins in age order:

We told Maddie Kate to "settle down" she was being so rowdy! lol!

Whenever Jaxon sees me with Liam he wants up in my arms too! Of course that really makes me mad. NOT!!!!

Me & my boys

Finally, Liam's birthday card. Of course I had to create my own version of the dragon/dinosaur card that's been around the net for awhile:

Liams dragon 1

Stamps: Yippee-Skippee

Cardstock: Pacific Point, Gumball Green, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Basic Black

Ink: Jet Black StazOn

Big Shot, Beautiful Brocade Textured Impressions Folder

Punches: 2 1/2" Circle, Extra Large Oval, Large Oval, Bird Builder, 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (scallop circle)

Some of the elements of this creation were determined by what was available on my craft table. Jaxon was taking a nap in my supplies room, so this card became a "limited supplies challenge"!

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Washi Tape Butterfly Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Washi Tape Butterfly Birthday!

Good morning! Yesterday was a CRAZY day at my house! Just being away from my home for two weeks with three males still living there is insanity itself, so of course I've been de-cluttering and doing MASSIVE LOADS of laundry! In addition, I think I had almost all my stamping supplies pulled out at one time or another yesterday! I'm doing some stamp room re-organization along with getting ready for my Holiday Catalog Open House on Saturday, so it was a mess! But you know you generally have to make a mess to change and reorganize, so it's coming along!

Tonight I have a Stamp Camp for Kim Norris. Kim & I have been anticipating her party for a few months while we waited for Kim's new kitchen to be completed and some family events (Kim's & mine!) to progress. Kim has been watching my blog and Facebook page, picking out the projects she wants to make.

Today's card is an adaptation of the card I posted HERE from the Fiji sample boards:

Gingham Garden Washi Butterfly 1

I combined Gingham Garden Washi Tape with the Beautiful Butterflies Die. The Polaroid-look is very trendy right now, so I created the photo square withthe new Square Framelits!. The greeting is from Itty Bitty Banners cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

Gingham Washi Butterfly 2
The inside greeting is from Yippee Skippee. The smaller Gingham Garden Washi Tape butterfly was also cut with the same Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. The washi tape makes it quick and easy!

Well, I have one more card left to create for tonight, so I need to get going!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Wonderful Wreath for the Holiday Catalog Open House!

Stampin’Up! Wonderful Wreath for the Holiday Catalog Open House!

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Just a quick post this morning. I just returned home yesterday evening from helping Alisa with baby Oakley, and now I'm off again early this morning to run some errands and to keep an appointment! You know how things are when you've been gone for from home for nearly two weeks but your family is still there! Chaos! Loads of laundry, and stuff just out-of-place! Ohhhhhhh!

This is the card you will be making when you attend my Holiday Catalog Open House this coming Saturday using all new products from the Hoilday Catalog, including the new Wonderful Wreath stamp:

Wonderful wreath

Isn't this pretty? I received this in one of the swaps I sent to convention this year. I'm so glad I did!

Here's Oakley this past Sunday! The day was so comfortable outside, not at all hot & muggy. We couldn't resist hanging out on a quilt in the yard for awhile. Oakley needed a bit of sun to help with his jaundice (which we had a GREAT report about yesterday!), so he hung out with us too:

Oakley 7- 28-13

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by to check on me. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Teapot Instructions!

Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Teapot Instructions!

Good morning! Oakley has his next bilirubin test this morning and a dr. apt this afternoon. Please pray that his numbers haven't spiked and all is well.

I have had requests to share the Teapot instructions, so here we go:

Gingham garden teapot

Here's the link to dowload the handout:

Download Gingham Garden Teapot

Fold a 12 x 6" piece of designer paper in half. Lay fold on Oval Accents Die just below the notch as shown:

Teapot 1

Here's a close up of where the fold should be on the die before runnning through the Big Shot:

Teapot 2

Cut off paper that sticks out around the edges of the die with scissors before running through the Big Shot. Save this paper. You will use it later for the teapot handle and the rim around the opening.

Teapot 3

Cut out with Big Shot:

Teapot 4

Open at the fold. Cut off one of the curved ends as shown with Paper Snips.

Teapot 5

This piece you cut off becomes your teapot spout! Attach to inside front of teapot with Tombow Mulitpurpose Glue or SNAIL.

Teapot 8

Punch the paper you cut off before running through the Big Shot with the Large Oval Punch first, then punch around the negative space with the Extra Large Oval Punch to create the teapot handle.

Teapot 9

Punch again in the negative space left from punching the handle to punch the rim of the teapot. You will have two pieces that look like this:

Teapot 10

Add handle of teapot to teapot body with Tombow or SNAIL. Adhere the sides of the teapot to each other with a thin line of Tombow, leaving the top notched ends open.

Teapot 11

Punch straight edge of top of teapot with Extra Large Oval Punch as shown. (The picture above also shows the teapot with the curve punched in it.)

Teapot 6

Layer half of a Tea Lace Doily over a piece of scrap cardstock. Punch with Extra Large Oval Punch, punching almost as far in as you can, lining up the curved punched edge with the curve of the doily. (If you try to punch the doily without the scrap of cardstock the doily just folds up into the punch, yuck!)

Teapot 7

Add punched doily to curved edge of top of teapot with a thin line Tombow glue.

Teapot 13

Trim top ends of doily with Paper Snips.

Teapot 14

Add the Midnight Muse gingham side of the punched curve piece over the edge of the doily with a thin line of Tombow as shown.

Teapot 15

Next steps have no pictures:

Add Silver mini-brad to the ends of the teapot you did not adhere with
Tombow.

Stamp “Just for You” from Label Love with Island Indigo ink on Whisper
White Scrap.

Punch with Artisan Label punch. Pierce hole in top of label with Paper Piercing Tool.

Remove tag from teabag, but
leave the teabag string. Thread string through the new label and tie.(a dental floss threader works great to thread the string through the tiny hole)

Add teabag to your teapot, create a
tiny card to insert, or add a giftcard.

You could make a custom matching designer paper envelope if you wish
with the Simply Scored Scoring Board and the Diagonal Plate. (or the new Envelope Punch Board Coming soon!)

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day #4!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day #4!

Good morning! How are you on this last Sunday of July? I ready to share with you a few more swaps! Without further ado, here we go!

This card was created with 2013-2015 In Colors Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Strawberry Slush using the Sketched Birthday stamp set on page 13! Stampin' Up! gave everyone at Leadership in Orlando, FL this set, so I'm happy I have it!

Sketched birthday 1

The greeting is from the photopolymner stamp set, Bombs Away Birthday! This set is a go-to when I want a fun, irreverent, birthday greeting!

Sketched birthday 2

Next up is a card with the Tea Party stamp set (pg 35), Oval Collection Framelits, Beautifully Barouque Textured Impressions Folder, Tea Lace Doily, and Baked Brown Sugar 3/8" Stretch Ruffled Ribbon!

Tea party 1

Close-up you can see the attention to detail of both Stampin' Up!'s stamp creation and the stamper's coloring of the image with Baked Brown Sugar and Marina Mist ink & a Blender Pen. The addition of the 4-Petal punched flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the Basic Jewel Pearl give dimension and vintage style!

Tea party 2

Last-but-certainly-not-least, Susie Wood created this center easel card with the Kind & Cozy (page 82) and the Simply Stars (page 124) stamp sets! Don't worry about all of those Real Red punched stars, the Merry Minis Punch Pack is still available on the Holiday Carryover List! The "hello" is from the Four You stamp set on page 22!

Susie Wood

That's all for now! I will be back tomorrow with more fun creations to show you and will have more swaps to show you next Sunday!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
