Bring on the Cake!

Bring on the Cake!

If you attend one of my workshops in March, you will get to make this card! I CASED this from one of my monthly swaps from January, and I don't have the creator's name anymore, but it is a fun card! We are using the Occasions Mini birthday set, "Bring on the Cake", with Baja Breeze Glass Glitter. We laid down a piece of Sticky Strip and sprinkled it with the glitter and gently pressed it down as the glass pieces can be a little "pointy"!The candles were punched out with the Build a Cupcake punch and attached with 2-way glue. The pedestal is punched with the Scallop Edge Border punch, which also provided the straight piece for the pedestal stand! We start with a 3/4" wide strip of Baja Breeze cardstock, then punch with the Scallop Edge punch. When we are done punching, the leftover straight strip of cardstock is perfect for the stand. I love it when one punching provides more than one element for the project! The pedestal base is half a 1 1/4" circle. The card colors are Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, and Daffodil Delight, and the designer paper layer is from the Hostess Level 1 In-Color Patterns Paper Pack!

The inside of the card also uses a phrase from "Bring on the Cake"!

That's all for today, I've got to put the final touches on the March Punch Class for tonight!

Until tomorrow, friends, have a "Stampingrox!" day!

More Downline Meeting Shares!

Cathy Hewlett, Linda's 1st level downline and my 2nd level,  always brings a bunch of fun samples to share to our meeting, it was hard to pick just a few to show you, so here are several! Cathy holds a Technique Class at her home every month, featuring fun and different stamping techniques. I will try to tell you which technique these are if I can!

For this first card Cathy used the "Countryside" stamp set from page 115 of the Big Catalog, painted with White Craft ink and an Aquapainter to achieve the worn, old look! "wish big" is from "Short & Sweet" on page 148.

Final two “Yes, Ma’am!” projects!

Final two “Yes, Ma’am!” projects!

As promised, here are the last two projects we made at our Saturday meeting:

This first project, a "Technique Project",  uses the "Framed Tulips" Textured Impressions Folder, but in a different way. Usually the folder only creates a rectangular impression, but I'v learned a neat new way to get a square AND a narrower rectangle with the same folder, it just requires one extra step! We will be doing this technique in some of my future classes, so keep an eye out for your chance tolearn how to add value to your "Framed Tulips" folder!

The "my dear kind & wonderful friend" is from "All Holidays" on page 154 of the Big Catalog, punched with the 2 1/2" Circle punch, backed by a flower from the "Fun Flowers" Die. and matted with a piece of "Springtime Vintage" Designer Series Paper, all from the Occasions Mini! The inside of the card has two of the phrases combined from the Occasions Mini set, "Bring On the Cake!"

Twenty-one of these cards went into the mail on Monday for the monthly swap I participate in!

Our last project was a "Punch Project" using theTwo-Step Bird Punch to create these adorable robins! I found this idea on Maria's blog and knew I had to share it with my downline! This project will also be one of the March Punch Class projects on Friday, March 4th, so RSVP for this one!
