Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day February 4th Bird Banter!

Hey there! What a week! After about a week and a half of elevated temps and low grade fevers every evening, I think I am finally on the mend. I'm still exhausted way to early, but I'm trying to put myself to bed earlier!

The first swap I want to share with you has no creator name, but I just love this little cockatiel fellow. (at least I think that's what he is!) Lemon Lime Twist, Tutti-Frutti Designer Paper, Starburst Punch, and Lemon Lime Twist 3/8" Mini Striped Ribbon come together to create a really easy and adorable card!

This card isn't created with Bird Banter, but this little momma birdie and babies fit right in! The anonymous creator used Flying Home with the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder, hand-cutting out the nest and using a bit of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon. The greeting is from Lift Me Up.

Amy Storrie combined the Bird Banter budgies with Lemon Lime Twist and Petal Palette Designer Paper. Tutti-frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins are an easy and fun touch!

Jan Rodrian combined Bird Banter, Birthday Wit, and Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper for her swap!

Finally, Dena Tarkowski colored her parrot with Stampin' Blends before hand-cutting him out to layer over a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle and a Layering Circle Framelit scallop cirle. She embossed the Calypso Coral layer with the Petal Burst folder and added a bow of Tranquil Tide 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.

Her card is also a gift card holder!

Stampin’ Up! CCREW917INSP Woodland Foxy Friends!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing another of my fall projects created for a Creative Crew Challenge at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/

We were give an assortment of Fall-themed pictures to inspire our work. Here are the three photos I used:

I used the Woodland Textured Impression Embossing Folder, Foxy Friends stamps, and Colorful Seasons Bundle:

How did Carol do that? Before embossing the Sahara Sand layer with the Woodland folder, I stamped a Foxy Friends fox with Pumpkin Pie ink and the stump with Early Espresso directly on the negative inside of the folder. (by "negative" I'm referring to the side where the tree trunks are not raised up) After carefully inserting the card stock into the folder against the un-inked side and closing it, I ran it through the Big Shot. I used a Blender Pen to smooth and add a bit more color to the fox, then used a Sponge Dauber to add Whisper White Craft ink to the tree trunks.

I used my popped-up banner technique to display the Colorful Seasons greeting, framing each side with leaves created with the Colorful Seasons Bundle and the Polished Stone Technique.The leaves get their brilliant colors from Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red ink refills. (I will be sharing more about Polished Stone in my Monday post) I sponged Early Espresso ink onto Touch of Nature Elements for the finishing touch.

I stamped inside with the Butterfly Basics "Happy birthday"; stamping a couple of small Colorful Seasons leaves inked using the Baby Wipe technique and the Polished Stone ink refills.

Stampin’ Up! Merry Tags Birthday for Logan!

Hey there! For Logan's birthday card I used the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder for the background and using the Merry Tags framelits for the main image:

Soft Suede card base, Garden Green layer, then a Crumb Cake layer. I rubbed one inside of the Woodland folder with a Versamark pad inside before embossing.

After cutting Very Vanilla with a Merry Tags Framelit (50% now!), I stamped a greeting from Shake & Celebrate (retiring) I adhered with dimensionals.

I tied Garden Green Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Combo pack (20% off), threaded with a Mini Pinecone (retiring)

Inside sentiment stamped with Early Espresso over a Crumb Cake-stamped You've Got This background.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop October Edition Theme Fall!

Hey there! It's time for the October Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay! Our theme this month is Fall and I am really excited about our hop! LOTS of gorgeousness coming your way!

If you are already on the hop, you've probably just come from the lovely Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps!

I created today's project for a workshop I'm having on Friday. I used Lighthearted Leaves and used the "glitter splatter" technique.

This card is SPONGED everywhere with Early Espresso ink, which gives such a rich contrast on the stamped leaves of Pool Party, Old Olive, and So Saffron, and makes the design from the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder really pop!

I added gold glitter splatters with watered-down Multipurpose Liquid glue and our Gold Stampin' Glitter. You can see another card done with this technique HERE

To add the glitter use the GLUE SPLATTER TECHNIQUE:

Squeeze a little Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue onto a plastic plate. Add a few drops of water. Mix with a toothpick. Pick up some of the runny glue with an Aquapainter. Holding the painter over your project, firmly tap near the brushtip with your finger to splatter glue randomly. If the glue won't splatter, add a few more drops of water and try again. Repeat splattering as needed. Sprinkle glitter on the splatters. Tap off excess. Allow glitter to dry. GORGEOUS!

Stampin’ Up! Yes Mam! Shoebox Swap Part 2!

Hey there! I had a lovely day yesterday with Jessica! We usually take a day to go shopping sometime around her birthday, so we booked the day way back in August so we could make it happen!

Today I'm babysitting Liam and Darcy at their house. I'm making very slow progress on this blog post because we have started potty training Liam. He and I are running to the potty on a 15 minute timer! I brought along the swaps from the Mam's Shoebox Swap Monday night so I could share a couple of cards with you. Hopefully I will get this post done before bedtime!

Becky Anderson used the Wonderland stamp set and Woodland Textured Impressions Folder for her simple-but elegant swap. The snow flakes were stamped with now-retired Metallic Gold Encore ink, but why not use it if you have it? The snowflakes and the greeting are both included in the Wonderland set, and the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum she used to stamp the greeting on is just the right touch!

Jan Lacey also used the Wonderland set and Woodland Textured Impressions folder for her swap that CASEd a technique and creation by Cynthia Millan:

This is a gorgeous technique I'd been dying to try!

We inked just the birdie from one of the stamps in the Happy Scenes set with a Basic Black marker to stamp on the branch, then colored with a Blender Pend and Real Red ink!

I'm on my new laptop and the mouse pad is extremely sensitive, which results in frequently erasing half of what I've typed every few sentences, eek! I've got to get one of my tech-savy sons to see if they can fix that for me!

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day One Gorgeous Swap!

Hey there! Today I have ONE GORGEOUS SWAP to share by Kavi Coulson!

First, Kavi inked the raised areas of the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with White Craft ink and a sponge dauber, then inserted the Early Espresso card stock into the folder, closing it, then applying pressure by hand. This technique opens up loads of possibilities for all of you with no space to store a Big Shot!

The greeting from Among the Branches was stamped with Early Espresso ink on Pumpkin Pie, punched with a 2" Circle punch, and layered with a 2 1/2" Circle of Into the Woods Designer Paper sponged with Early Espresso.

LOVE the layers of 5/8" Chevron Ribbon (solid side showing), Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, and Gold 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
