Stampin’ Up! Sunday Sway Day on Monday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Sway Day on Monday!

Hey there! I wasn't supposed to be home today, as I had a morning workshop scheduled in Marion, but it is rescheduling because it is 6 degrees outside! Brrrrr! I welcomed the chance to sleep in a bit! lol!

Today I'm sharing my Sunday Swap Day swaps. With Valentine's Day less than a month away, you need these ideas NOW.

First, Ruth Bingle used  Bloomin' Love with Love Blossom Designer Paper and a design from the free SAB Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack. (NOTE: anytime you see the word "SAB" added to a product name it means you can only receive that item free when you have ordered at least $50 during Sale-a-bration, which is in effect through March 31, 2016) Don't worry, the Occasions Catalog is packed with gorgeous stampin' stuff, so a $50 order will be easy. The hard part will be deciding what NOT to order!

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_1

She cut Pink Pirouette flowers with the dies that come with the Bloomin' Heart Thinlets:

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_2

Next, Ruth Anne Lilley also used Bloomin' Love with the Circle Card Thinlets Die, Sweetheart Punch, and Hearts Border Punch. She added a tiny sliver of new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper for some sparkle!

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_5

Kathy Morgan also used Bloomin' Love and Sweetheart Punch with the Bloomin' Heart Thinlets and Metallic Foil Doilies for her easel Valentine:

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_7

Finally, Kelly Acheson used a Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper Sweetheart punch for the center of her Bloomin' Love Valentine. She embossed the white background with the Happy Heart folder, layering a Tea Lace Doily over Love Blossoms banners:

Stampin’ Up! Bloomin’ Love for Angela!

Stampin’ Up! Bloomin’ Love for Angela!

Hey there! Saturday I was thrilled to attend the wedding of one of my dear friends and Stampin' Up! team member, Angela.

I made Angela's wedding card using more of my pre-preorder Occasions Catalog products, the Bloomin' Love photopolymer set and coordinating Bloomin' Heart Thinlets Dies:

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_1 - Copy

I used Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla, two of Angela's favorite colors.

I also used the Precision base plate to cut the Very Vanilla heart with my Big Shot. I popped up the flowers, which are part of the Bloomin' Love set and cut with the two  flower dies included with the Bloomin' Heart framelits, with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_2 - Copy

Pearls added a bit more elegance.

I embossed the Elegant Eggplant background with the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_3 - Copy

After I stamped the ". . .it's in the air" phrase inside the banner, I fancy-cut it out with my Paper Snips. I CAN tell you there's another framelit set coming in the Occasions Catalog that includes a framelit to cut out the fancy banner! yay!

Stampin_up_bloomin_love_5 - Copy

I finished the inside with a sentiment from the Happy Notes set and a pretty little flower cluster from Bloomin' Love.

I DO make mistakes! I didn't take the pictures of this card until AFTER I had written a personal message, so I removed it before posting! lol!

TODAY is the LAST DAY OF THE ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA, so if you planned to order any of the sale items or NEW doorbusters available only today, you NEED to place your order before midnight Mountain Time in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Words for a Valentine!

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Words for a Valentine!

Hey there! I know thinking about Valentines seems weird, but it's never too early to get ready for the next holiday!

I created today's card to swap at Dallas OnStage last weekend. I wanted to swap something that would have a little more "display life", past the upcoming holidays.

I used Annual Catalog Watercolor Words to create this:

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_1 - Copy

After I stamped the heart with Rose Red ink on Whisper White, I embossed with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Folder.

I created two versions because of a boo-boo while prepping assembly-line style!

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_3 - Copy

My first version had the corner of the Rose Red layer un-punched by the Curvy Corner Trio Punch, which I had used to punch the corner of the Whisper White layer stamped with "love" from Watercolor Words and Archival Basic Black.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_2 - Copy

While I was assembly-line stamping, embossing, and punching the pieces for 25 swaps, I accidentally punched the Rose Red layer as well as the Whisper White, so I  layered them, off-setting them slightly so the Rose Red gives a pretty shadow under the white. Which way do you like best? Drop me a comment and tell me what you think!Stampin_up_watercolor_words_4 - Copy

Stampin’Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop January Edition: Sale-a-bration is Here!

Stampin’Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop January Edition: Sale-a-bration is Here!

Hey there! TODAY is the first  2015 Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! Our theme this month is Sale-a-bration!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

If you're already on the hop, you've probably just arrived from Stella MacKay's blog,

Stellar Stamps. Stella is a creatively talented sister-in-stamps. I love her ideas each month!

Besides Christmas, Sale-a-bration is my favorite time of the stamping year! I LOVE that my stampers get to choose a FREE SAB item from the Sale-a-bration brochure with every $50 order!

My project for this month features both an Occasions Catalog and a SAB set:

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_3 - Copy

I used the Occasions Catalog Hey Valentine, choosing a Gorgeous Grunge stamp with Marine Mist ink for the "bubbles". My card layers are cut using Circle Collection Framelits Dies and the white heat-embossed greeting is cut with the Circle Card Thinlets Dies banner.

I added a Red Glimmer heart punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (ON SALE in this week's Weekly Deals! yay!)

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_5 - Copy

On the back I punched holes to insert the sucker stick with the 1/4" Handheld Punch, and stamped "you're the best!" from SAB set Simply Wonderful with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Before I decided on the Gorgeous Grunge bubbles stamp, I tried the Shaving Cream Technique on Whisper White cardstock, then stamped the fishy image with Tuxedo Black.

Stampin_up_hey_valentine_1

I can't decide which one I like the best, but stamping with Gorgeous Grunge is definitely quicker and less messy than the Shaving Cream Technique!

That's all for now. Check out the supply list below, then hop over to Judy Garza's blog HERE. Clicking on one of the supply list images will take you to my Online Store:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

All online orders receive a Thank-You Packet that includes project instructions!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Returns!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Returns!

Hey there! I'm nesting! No, I'm not nesting because I'm having a baby, but I'm in nesting mode because my daughter is now 3 days past her due date! I'm staying focused, working on getting my house back together from Christmas and working ahead on everything I can before baby Lando arrives!

Today I have some of the swaps I received in December to share with you. It was hard to choose which ones to show you first because they're ALL AWESOME!

First, Amy Combs used You Plus Me, Sweetheart Punch, Hearts Border Punch, Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack, Decorative Dots folder, Basic Black Chevron Ribbon, Real Red card stock, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and Project Life 4" x 3" Grid Cards for her crisp & clean Valentine:

Stampin_up_you_plus-me

Next, Audra Moncur used the Big Day stamp set with Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (choose one from the Sale-a-bration brochure as your free gift with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration, which starts next Tuesday, January 6th!)

Stampin_up_big_day_sab

Lastly, Barbara Dykhouse used the new Occasions set, Sheltering Tree with a bit of Regals Designer Series Paper and an Island Indigo button from the Regals Buttons package for her stunning creation:

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree

I have this set but haven't had a chance to play with it yet! Aaargh! I plan to play with it this coming week, unless of course, baby Lando decides to change my plans! I am getting SO EXCITED to get my hands on this little fellow!

That's all for now! The Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration start Tuesday, which will be the first day you can order the sets used for today's cards and can start choosing a free SAB item for every $50 you order! Whoo hoo!

Until tomorrow have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Monster Hug & Word Bubble Valentines for My Grandkids!

Stampin’Up! Monster Hug & Word Bubble Valentines for My Grandkids!

Hey there! A couple of days ago I went to Jessica's to make valentines with my grandkids. I started this tradition when Maddie Kate was in kindergarten. She's in 7th grade now, so that's makes 8 years of valentines! I wish I had taken pictures of our first ones, but oh, well, here's this years' installment:

Stampin_up_monster_hugs_1

In past years we've spent a lot of hours making quite elaborate valentines, but since this year I knew I might be more pressed for time with all the commitments I have, I decided to go easy. Ava said, "Wow, Grammie, these are alot easier than last year!" I asked if she still liked them and she said "OH YES!" (guess easy can sometimes be just as good or better?)

For both Ava (in 3rd grade) and Cohen (in kindergarten) I opted for the "Monster Hugs" valentines we still have available on the "Whole Lot of Love" flyer:

Stampin_up_monster_hugs_4

Ava was able to assemble these adorable little "monsters" all by herself, signing the "to: from:" area on the monsters' little bum, removing the protective cover on the adhesive area on the front and adhering the candy, adding the single googlie eye, and then attaching the arms together with the slits just above the monster hands!

Stampin_up_monster_hugs_5

Cohen needed a little bit more help, but he managed signing his name to the backside, adhering the candy, and adding the googlie eye. The googlie eye was his favorite part!

Stampin_up_monster_hugs_2

Stampin_up_monster_hugs_3

I brought Nerds, Bottlecaps, and Laffy Taffy for the monsters to "hug"!

Stampin_up_word_bubble_valentines

Maddie Kate's were pretty simple too. A strip of Fresh Prints Designer Paper punched on both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (my FAVORITE new tool in the Occasions Catalog!), then scored in the middle to create the flat area to attach the candy (chocolate, of course!). We tied to ends together with Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, then added the valentine greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes, cut with a Word Bubble Framelit and mounted on a 1 3/4" Pool Party Scallop Circle. We added just a bit of bling with a Silver Glimmer circle!

Just so you know, I had Jessica take these pictures with her fabulous camera! (I'm still learning how to use mine, but I will get better!)

My hubby came along on this trip, so Jessica fixed us a yummy supper before we headed home. Good times!

That's all for today. You can still order the Monster Hugs (for your little munchkins or grandbabies next year!). Just go to my Online Store by clicking HERE.
