Stampin’ Up! Leaflets Framelits Dies!

Stampin’ Up! Leaflets Framelits Dies!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing some gorgeous swaps that all use the Leaflets Framelits Dies. Two stamp sets coordinate with the dies, Vintage Leaves in the Annual Catalog and Lighthearted Leaves in the Holiday Catalog, but I was surprised by other sets that also work great!

Marcie Besecker combined Hardwood Background, Woodland Textured Impressions folder, Vintage Leaves, and a Sheltering Tree greeting:

  Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_1
Marcie embossed Vintage Leaves with gold powder, colored with reinkers and Aqua Painters, then cutting  with Leaflets dies.

She pulled threads from 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon to add a fringe, then tied the threads around the leaves.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_2

Mary Waring cut Into the Woods Designer Series Paper with a Leaflets Framelit, layering over Blackberry Bliss and Gold Foil. She used more Into the Woods for the "tree trunk", dividing from the Blackberry Bliss with Natural 5/8" Chevron ribbon turned with the plain side up.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_1

A greeting from A Little Something was punched with the  Acorn Builder Punch, then layered over a Gold Foil acorn. Little touches of Crystal Effects to each tiny acorn adds dimension and shine. Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_2
Katy Simecka combined Vintage Leaves, Sheltering Tree, and Woodland Textured Impressions Folder for her creation:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_3

Finally, Karen Kurz cut a leaf "window" from Crushed Curry before embossing with the Woodland folder. She stamped Happy Scenes on a Shimmery White layer, sponging with So Safforn, Crushed Curry, and Cajun Craze. She highlighted the window with a Basic Black marker.

Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation Achiever’s Blog Hop Remember to Give Thanks!

Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation Achiever’s Blog Hop Remember to Give Thanks!

GV_Blog_Hop_Banner_04
Hey there and welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for September. The theme for the hop this month is Remember to Give Thanks!

You may be starting from here at my blog, Carol Payne Stamps, or may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

For my contribution to the hop this month, I decided to use a tried and true technique that works perfectly with the thankful theme, Faux Silk!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_1 - Copy

I stamped Vintage Leaves with Hello Honey, Cajun Craze, and Mossy Meadow on plain tissue paper then crumpled it in my hand. After I opened the tissue and partially smoothed it, I covered a Very Vanilla layer with Stampin' Glue Stick and adhered the tissue to it, smoothing the tissue but still leaving a few wrinkles to give it more of a "slubbed silk" look.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_3 - Copy

I wrapped the edges of the tissue around to the back side of the vanilla layer and adhered with SNAIL, then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.

After I stamped the "thankful" greeting with Chocolate Chip and cut banner points with my Paper Snips, I sponged the acorn element with Chocolate Chip before adding with a glue dot. After I smushed the wooden leaves directly onto the ink pad I realized I could use them to "stamp" over the greeting, then adding with glue dots.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_2 - Copy - Copy

An Early Espresso 1/2" Seam Binding bow finishes off the front.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_4 - Copy

Inside I used a sentiment from Lighthearted Leaves, which coordinates perfectly with today's "Remember to Give Thanks" theme.

To order supplies used today, you can find them all in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day One Gorgeous Swap!

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day One Gorgeous Swap!

Hey there! Today I have ONE GORGEOUS SWAP to share by Kavi Coulson!

First, Kavi inked the raised areas of the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with White Craft ink and a sponge dauber, then inserted the Early Espresso card stock into the folder, closing it, then applying pressure by hand. This technique opens up loads of possibilities for all of you with no space to store a Big Shot!

The greeting from Among the Branches was stamped with Early Espresso ink on Pumpkin Pie, punched with a 2" Circle punch, and layered with a 2 1/2" Circle of Into the Woods Designer Paper sponged with Early Espresso.

Stampin_up_among_the_branches_1

LOVE the layers of 5/8" Chevron Ribbon (solid side showing), Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, and Gold 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

To add the glitter use the GLUE SPLATTER TECHNIQUE:

Squeeze a little Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue onto a plastic plate. Add a few drops of water. Mix with a toothpick. Pick up some of the runny glue with an Aquapainter. Holding the painter over your project, firmly tap near the brushtip with your finger to splatter glue randomly. If the glue won't splatter, add a few more drops of water and try again. Repeat splattering as needed. Sprinkle glitter on the splatters. Tap off excess. Allow glitter to dry. GORGEOUS!

Stampin’ Up! Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015!

Stampin’ Up! Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015!

Hey there! I confess I am really bad about sending cards. A big confession, since I make cards ALL. THE. TIME.

Even with all of the beautiful cards I have made, I never have just the "right one". I guess it's the perfectionist in me; if I can't do it the way I want, I don't do it at all.

Can you relate?

However, a sister demonstrator posted this quote I'm trying to make my motto: "Strive for PROGRESS, not perfection".

With that in mind, I made a card for a dear friend who wishes she could go see "Wicked". I was inspired by this swap from Amy Combs using Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015:

Stampin_up_project_life_seasonal_snapshot_1

Amy used spiders from A Little Something, and embossed the Pumpkin Pie layer with the Lucky Stars folder.

My creation:

Stampin_up_project_life_seasonal_snapshot_3 - Copy

I used Cucumber Crush for my background layer, embossing with the Chevron folder.

"Wicked", and the magic sparkles, which are actually snowflakes, are both from Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015. I added rhinestones for bling in addition to the Black Glimmer paper witch hat, cut with a Boo To You Framelit.

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop September Edition Halloween!

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop September Edition Halloween!

Hey there! It's the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay! This month the Dozen are helping you get ready for Halloween!

Coming from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps, means you are right on track! Follow the "next" link at the post's end to follow hop through all 13 blogs.

Today I used the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder and Sheltering Tree stamp set again:

Stampin_up_cheer_all_year_1 - Copy

You might recognize this layout from previous creations HERE and HERE.

I started by heat embossing the trees with black powder on Very Vanilla. I punched a 1" circle from a Post-it Note and stuck it over some of the branches before I brayered with Tangerine Tango ink. When I removed the circle Post-It, I had a lovely harvest moon! I matted this layer on new Black Glimmer Paper on a Basic Black layer I embossed with the Woodland folder.

Stampin_up_cheer_all_year_2 - Copy

I punched Black Glimmer paper with the Decorative Label Punch to mat behind the "HAPPY HAUNTING" greeting from Cheer All Year.

Stampin_up_cheer_all_year_3 - Copy

Inside I used images from Cheer All Year and Happy Scenes.

Stampin_up_cheer_all_year_4 - Copy

This bold bat image from Cheer All Year really makes a statement on the envelope!
