Hey there and welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for September. The theme for the hop this month is Remember to Give Thanks!
You may be starting from here at my blog, Carol Payne Stamps, or may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.
For my contribution to the hop this month, I decided to use a tried and true technique that works perfectly with the thankful theme, Faux Silk!
I stamped Vintage Leaves with Hello Honey, Cajun Craze, and Mossy Meadow on plain tissue paper then crumpled it in my hand. After I opened the tissue and partially smoothed it, I covered a Very Vanilla layer with Stampin' Glue Stick and adhered the tissue to it, smoothing the tissue but still leaving a few wrinkles to give it more of a "slubbed silk" look.
I wrapped the edges of the tissue around to the back side of the vanilla layer and adhered with SNAIL, then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.
After I stamped the "thankful" greeting with Chocolate Chip and cut banner points with my Paper Snips, I sponged the acorn element with Chocolate Chip before adding with a glue dot. After I smushed the wooden leaves directly onto the ink pad I realized I could use them to "stamp" over the greeting, then adding with glue dots.
An Early Espresso 1/2" Seam Binding bow finishes off the front.
Inside I used a sentiment from Lighthearted Leaves, which coordinates perfectly with today's "Remember to Give Thanks" theme.
To order supplies used today, you can find them all in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Hey there and welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for August 2015. The theme for the hop this month is Holiday Sneak Peek and we're all excited to share projects using new products from the upcoming Holiday Catalog!
You may be starting here at my blog, Carol Payne Stamps, or may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me (which right now means you will want to go up to the top of the list and work your way back down to me) to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.
My creation for the hop features Flurry of Wishes Stamps and Snow Flurry Punch Bundle on page 25 of the Holiday Catalog:
I heat embossed the snowflake with white powder on Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper has a "sheen" that photographs as haziness around the embossed snowflake. The tiny snowflakes are in the paper's design. I added a single rhinestone to the center for more sparkle.
Heat Embossing Tip: Winter Wonderland paper has A LOT of static, so using the Embossing Buddy is a MUST before stamping and heat embossing to prevent powder scatter!
I punched Silver Foil paper with the Snow Flurry Punch, using the smaller of the two snowflakes included in the punch. I added a Winter Wonderland Embellishment to the center with a glue dot.
The greeting from Flurry of Wishes is heat embossed on Basic Black and cut with a Deco Label Framelit. I cut a same-size Deco Label from Silver Foil to mat behind.
