Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Ornament!

Hey there! Now that I'm done sharing  my Creative Crew projects, I can finish sharing the Night in Bethlehem projects I made for Vacation Stamping School!

My project today was inspired by a Christmas card idea I found last year. It has no watermark so I can't give anyone credit for the inspiration, but here's the idea and my project side by side:
Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps1
The project on the left used retired designer paper, stamps, and dies, but the background paper is what inspired my ornament with the "cracked glass" technique!

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps2

I glue-dotted Gold Metallic Thread between two gold Foil Snowflakes (there are also silver in the package) for my ornament base. After stamping the Holy Family with black in on Very Vanilla and punching with the Everyday Label Punch, I sponged the edges with black ink. I let the ink dry for a bit, then pressed a Versamark ink pad directly on the whole piece, sprinkled with Clear embossing powder, and then heated with my Heat Tool. I repeated this process 5 times to get a thick layer of clear embossing over the image. I then popped it into the freezer for about 10 minutes, then removed and immediately twisted the paper to make the frozen embossing layers crack. I put it back in the freezer for another 10 minutes and repeated the cracking upon removal.

I sponged the cracks with Soft Suede ink to help them show up more, then adhered to the gold Foil Snowflake with several dimensionals. I cut a snowflake from a Gold Foil sheet with the smallest die in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets. After adhering with a glue dot, I added a single pearl.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps3

On the flip side I used the cracked glass technique over the Night in Bethlehem sentiment. This handmade keepsake could possibly become a family heirloom!

Stampin’ Up! CCREW917TECH Pocketful of Polished Stone!

Stampin’ Up! CCREW917TECH Pocketful of Polished Stone!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing another project from the Creative Crew challenges on Splitcoaststampers. We were asked take the same technique we used for our card and turn it into a scrapbook page, framed art, or 3-D project. I used the Pocket Framelits with the Burlap background and the Polished Stone technique to create this adorable treat pocket!

Stampin_up_pocketful_of_sunshine_thanksgiving_carolpaynestamps1

Again, I'm loving the look of Burlap stamped with Sahara Sand ink on Sahara Sand card stock! Adding the pocket details with the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set, then cutting with the Pocket Framelits is just the best!

The leaves were created with the Polished Stone technique. You can catch the link to this tutorial on Splitcoaststampers here.

I cut the leaves with the smaller leaf from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets after stamping the Polished Stone piece with a Colorful Seasons leaf image.

Stampin_up_colorful_seasons_polished_stone_carolpaynestamps1

A Gold Faceted Gem makes the perfect center for a Touches of Nature Element. I made a teeny tiny banner to stamp "happy thanksgiving" from Teeny Tiny wishes.

Stampin_up_pocketful_of_sunshine_thanksgiving_carolpaynestamps2

To create the pocket, cut two pocket fronts with flaps using the Pocket Framelit:

Stampin_up_pocketful_of_sunshine_burlap_carolpaynestamps1

Adhere the 3/4" x 7 1/2", scored at 2 1/4", 3 3/4" and 5 1/4". Fold on the scored lines, then add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the pocket flaps to adhere to the edges of the folded strip.

Stampin_up_pocketful_of_sunshine_carolpaynestamps1

Final touch is the Jute Twine handle added to the sides, tied through holes punched with the 1/8" Circle Handheld punch. I tied a double knot in the ends to secure.

Stampin’ Up! Merry Little Labels For the Mam’s!

Stampin’ Up! Merry Little Labels For the Mam’s!

Hey there!  Anyy event I attend with my team, the Yes Mam! Stampers, I try to give them a gift. Three of my Mam's went to Vacation Stamping School with me on Saturday, so when I found these cute spiral-bound notebooks at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago, I knew I had to make tags to mach each one!

Stampin_up_merry_little_labels_carolpaynestamps1

The cover of this one reminded me of our Wood Words stamp set and the coordinating Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. I heat embossed "just FOR YOU" from the Holiday Catalog Merry Little Labels with white powder on Chocolate Chip card stock, then punched with the Holiday Catalog Every Label Punch. I punched two Whisper White Everyday Labels to adhere behind, then looped a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, securing with liquid glue. I adhered all to a Chocolate Chip base cut with a Lots of Labels Framelit. I attached the tag to the spiral with new Jute Twine from the Holiday Catalog.

Stampin_up_merry_little_labels_carolpaynestamps2

For the "Creativity Takes Courage" notebook I heat embossed the sentiment with gold powder on Whisper White before punching with the Everyday Label Punch. I matted it with a couple of Basic Black Everyday Labels, then mounted it on a Gold Foil Snowflake, also from the Holiday Catalog. I used a Basic Black tag base cut with a Lots of Labels framelit and attached it to the notebook with Gold 1/8" Metallic Ribbon.

Stampin_up_merry_little_labels_carolpaynestamps4

I LOVE these snowflakes! There are 12 silver and 12 gold in the package. You will see me using these A LOT this fall!

Stampin_up_merry_little_labels_carolpaynestamps5

The Tag I created for the "make today Amazing" notebook uses many of the same supplies as before, but I flipped a gold snowflake over and used the WHITE SIDE. This gives you THREE color options!

Stampin_up_merry_little_labels_carolpaynestamps6

I embossed the sentiment with Gold on Crumb Cake, and cut the tag base from Gold Foil. I tied this one on the spine with Gold 3/8" Metallic-edged ribbon.

Stampin’ Up! International Blog Highlights: Babies!

Hey there! The theme this month is babies, and A Little Wild, and the matching (and bundled) Little Loves Framelits were perfect to create a trio of fun baby bear-themed projects!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps1

For my first project I used the Wood Textures Designer Paper to achieve a knot-hole look for the baby bear to peek out!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps2

I cut the hole with a Layering Ovals Framelit, and the bumblebees with a Little Loves framelit, cutting three bees at the same time!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps3

A Little Wild greeeting:

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps4

Bees & a hive!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps5

Inside:

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps6

The bundle includes the front and back of the bear to stamp as well as a framelit to cut it out.

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps7

I used the Scallop Tag Topper punch to create a tag. Birthday Memories Designer Paper created a great background. The ribbon is Gold 1/4" Natural Trim.

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps8

After stamping and cutting  the front and the back of the baby bear, all I had to do was fold to create a tag!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps9

I stamped and white heat-embossed the bear and the greeting. I stamped another greeting on the tag with Soft Suede before embossing with the Hexagons Dynamic Folder.

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps11

The inside sentiment is from a new favorite set, Special Celebrations.

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps12

My final project is a favor I created with the Wood Crate Framelits, the Hardwood Background, the new Starburst punch, and a baby bear tag!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps14

The "to:" and "from:" are included in the A Little Wild set, making it extremely versatile for gift tags as well as cards, favors, and invitations.

Now here's the thing. With this blog post I'm in a contest. I would appreciate if you would vote for my projects by clicking this link and voting for me:http://bit.ly/KyliesJuneHighlightsVoteforMeHere

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Words Wishlist!

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Words Wishlist!

Hey there!

Today I want to share with you the "wish list" booklet we're making at Open House. I'm providing already printed wish list sheets as usual, but I found a really cute wish  list booklet idea from another demo that I wanted to try. (I will put the link to her info at the end of my post.) This is the easiest project to put together, and amazingly there is no stamping, just die-cutting, stapling, and assembly!

Stampin_up_lovely_words_carolpaynestamps1

The Delightful Daisy Designer Series paper has a color that looks just like Wisteria Wonder, even though it's not listed as a color on the packaging. I decided to use it for the booklet base and to cut the "lovely" with the Lovely Words thinlet. We also added a Glitter Enamel Dot to the pre-printed "wishlist" banner.

Stampin_up_lovely_words_carolpaynestamps2

To get the free-floating heart around the "lovely" we put a heart die from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits around it to cut both at the same time. Before cutting out the heart and word we added a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive sheet to the back of the Wisteria Wonder card stock to make adhering to the front easy-peasy!

Stampin_up_lovely_words_carolpaynestamps5

Stapled inside are the pre-printed wish list sheets. We covered the staples on the outside with Old Olive 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon.
