Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Cheer Up! Owl!

Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Cheer Up! Owl!

Hey there! I'm back again today with another card using the Geometrical stamp set and the Owl Builder Punch. I think I'm a little obsessed, but the phrases in this set are just so different from anything we've had in awhile, I'm really diggin' it! Stampin_up_geometrical_owl_buttercup
I started with a cardbase of Coastal Cabana, then added a layer of Soft Suede that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder. Before I embossed the Soft Suede, however, I stamped the tree branch from Take Care with Early Espresso ink so I would have something for my little owl to sit on!

Today's owl is Early Espresso with a vest of Retro Fresh Designer Paper and those adorable Gold Sequin Trim eyes!

I inked the "cheer up buttercup" stamp from Geometrical with my Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers, then stamped on a scrap of Naturals Ivory. I cut it out with one of the Word Bubbles Framelit Dies in the Occasions Catalog, then mounted it above the owl with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_geometrical_peachy_keen

Inside I simply inked "you're Peach keen" from the Peachy Keen stamp set with the same markers. Those cute little "arrowheads" are inked with the same colors too and mimic the designer paper vest on the owl! I love the way Stampin' Up! coordinates several different products into a "suite"! You will find all this suite on pages 18-19 of the New Occasions Catalog.

That's all for now! Tomorrow is my "Yes, Mam! Stampers" downline meeting and I am prepping this card for the Shoebox Swap! yay!

Kathy sikora 1

Kathy didn't stamp her pumpkin scene with Early Espresso before she embossed the Baked Brown Sugar layer with the Woodgrain folder, so she clear embossed it on a scrap of Very Vanilla, cut it out with another leaf from the Autumn Accents Die, and then sponged on her color. I just had to take a picture of it!

Stampin’Up! Remembering Christmas Goes Camo!

Stampin’Up! Remembering Christmas Goes Camo!

I've been finalizing my projects for my classes this weekend, so I've been having fun stamping my heart out!

Today's card uses the Holiday Catalog set, Remembering Christmas, is a different way:

Remembering Christmas 1

The neatest feature of this card I CASED from this card I showed you HERE. Meg Wheeler used one of the Clear-Mount Perfectly Placed Guides to create her "bullseye/scope" effect, so I repeated it for my card. I put the guide on my copier, copied it 6 times, then cut out all 6 of the guides I needed to cover one sheet of copy paper. I was then able to copy them onto a piece of 8 1/2 x 11" Very Vanilla. After cutting each "bullseye" with my Paper Trimmer, I then stamped the deer on it with Chocolate Chip ink and my Stamp-a-majig.

After the deer was stamped I then added my "camo" look by stamping three different stamps from Gorgeous Grunge around him with Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, and Crumb Cake ink. I finished my dirty-hunting look with Crumb Cake sponged all around the edges.

Stamps: Remembering Christmas #131760 Wood $17.95 #131763 Clear $13.95, Gorgeous Grunge #130514 Wood $24.95 #130517 Clear $17.95, Hello Lovely #128610 Wood $32.95 #130243 Clear $24.95

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz

Big Shot: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder #127821 $7.95

Accessories: Clear-Mount Perfectly Placed Guides #121785 $5.95, Stampin' Sponge, 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon #132140 $7.95, Modern Label Punch, Paper Snips, Neutrals Candy Dots #130934 $5.95, Stamp-a-majig #101049 $11.95, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue

Remembering Christmas 3

"You're the BEST" is actually the "Thank You You're the BEST" stamp from Hello Lovely. After stamping in Chocolate Chip ink I hand-cut with my Paper Snips, omitting the "thank you". It is adhered with SNAIL adhesive to the Garden Green Modern Label that I sponged with Crumb Cake ink. I flanked the greeting with two Chocolate Chip Candy Dots from the Neutrals package. The label is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to the cut-down-snipped-and-frayed piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon. I adhered the Burlap Ribbon to the card front with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.

Remembering Christmas 2
I always have the hardest time deciding what to stamp on the inside of my card, but this time was no problem! I continued the "camo" look with the Gorgeous Grunge stamps and the "you make me happy", which is also from Hello, Lovely!

That's all for now! Thanks so much for stopping in to see my creation today!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Autumn Emboss Resist!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Autumn Emboss Resist!

We had a really nice day with all our family home for dinner and the afternoon to celebrate Jessica's birthday. Of course I'm not prejudice, but I know I have a great family!

Although it doesn't look very fall-ish at my house yet, I was inspired by my Sunday Swap Day cards to create this card with the Best of Autumn stamp set, the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, and the Autumn Accents Die:

Best of Autumn 1

I used the emboss resist technique on the Very Vanilla strip. I stamped the leaf image with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, then embossed with my Heat Tool. After cooling for a few seconds I sponged the embossed images with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Soft Suede ink. The clear embossing "resists" the ink and allows the Very Vanilla color to show through. After I applied all of my inks I gently rubbed over the images with a kleenex to remove the excess ink.

Best of autumn 2
The "give thanks" greeting is from the Best of Autumn set, as well as the pumpkin image I stamped in the lower right corner before embossing the Baked Brown Sugar layer with the Woodgrain Folder.

I cut a Very Vanilla leaf with my Autumn Accents Die, stamped the "give thanks" on the leaf, then sponged with the same three colors I used with the emboss resist. I tore apart a strip of 1 1/4" Burlap Trim to get the burlap threads I looped together and secured with a Vintage Trinket brad. After inserting the brad in the base of the leaf I adhered it all to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Best of autumn 3
For the inside I stamped with a phrase from Trust God, then used the emboss resist technique along with LOTS of sponging of Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Stampin’ Glitter Pumpkin!

Stampin’Up! Stampin’ Glitter Pumpkin!

I spent the day shopping with two of my three daughters, Jessica & Alisa. Tomorrow is Jessica's birthday, but she will be shooting a wedding so I won't get to see her. I intended to take my camera with me today to at least get a picture of us together, but rats, I ran out of the house this morning without it! Hopefully when we have our family get-to-gether on Sunday for her birthday I will get a few pics to share with you then!

I've been seeing some really gorgeous cards made with the Stampin' Glitter in the Holiday Catalog, so I decided to have a go at creating with it myself! This is tonight's creation:

Glitter pumpkin 1

I started by adhering a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet from the Annual Catalog to Very Vanilla cardstock. I then punched with the Extra-Large Oval punch three times. After removing the remaining protective cover to expose the adhesive, I then laid the ovals in a coffee filter and sprinkled them heavily with the Orange Stampin' Glitter. I pressed the glitter firmly into the adhesive with my fingers before tapping off the excess. I removed the glitter that wanted to cling to the backside of the ovals so I could assemble my pumpkin with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then adhered my pumpkin to the Early Espresso Core'dinations layer that I had embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder and my Big Shot. I also lightly sanded the woodgrain to bring out more of the texture. The card base and the Bird Builder-punched leaves are Always Artichoke. "Thinking of You" is from Wetlands, stamped in Early Espresso on a scrap of Venetian Romance Designer Paper that I then cut out with one of the Circle Card Thinlet Dies. For the four-petal flower on the word banner I punched the leftover cardstock from punching the ovals to punch with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack 4-petal flower. I added the Pearl Basic Jewel before I added the glitter.

Glitter pumpkin 2
I decided I needed for this to be a get well card, so I used a phrase from the tried-and-true set, Thoughts and Prayers. The flower spray is from the same set. I added more glittered flowers and leaves in the lower corner to finish everything off!

Tip: When working with any of our Stampin' Glitters, you will need to remove any excess glitter from your project once you are done or it will end up with "glitter scatter", as you can see in my sample above. A few quick swipes with a Swiffer cloth should do the trick nicely!

That's all for now! I'm all tuckered out from our shopping day. Did I mention that two of my grandbabies, Jaxon and Oakley, went with us? I had fun with my daughters and my grandson! yay!

To create your own glittered pumpkins you can order the supplies from my Online Store. The link to my Online Store is over there on the top right side of my blog. Place an order, receive a hand-stamped thank you from me and Bluesox Rewards if your order is $25 or more!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Simply Sketched Hostess!

Stampin’ Up! Simply Sketched Hostess!

Good morning! It's cool and quiet here this morning, but it's supposed to heat up as the day goes on, so I will be firing up the ol' AC after awhile!

I'm relaxing just a little bit after my marathon week of workshops! I finished up at Katie's house last night. I love to stamp with that group of girls, they are so much fun!

Here's one of the cards we made at Dawn/Julia's workshop on Thursday. It's an adaptation of a couple of inspiration samples using my favorite new Hostess Set, Simply Sketched, I found by Lyssa Zwolanek:

Simply sketched 1

An easy, fun little card. Dimensions are 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" on the 8 1/2" side to create the little "z" fold.

We stamped just the front layer with the Woodgrain Background with Soft Suede ink on the Soft Suede card base before stamping the foliage branch with Early Espresso.

The bird is stamped with Early Espresso, then colored with a blender pen and ink from a Soft Suede inkpad and an Always Artichoke pad.

The edges of the bird layer are distressed with the Stampin' Distress Tool before sponging with Soft Suede ink. After tearing the bottom of both layers and adhering together, it is attached to the card front with three Stampin' Dimensionals.

Simply Sketched is just one of seven hostess-exclusive sets in the new catalog you can choose from when you host your own stampin' party or place an Online Order of at least $150!

This layout has endless possibilities, depending on the stamps and colors you use! Give it a try!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
