Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Shadow Box!

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Shadow Box!

Hey there! I tried the shadow box fancy fold with the Beautiful You dancing girl. It was fun!

Stampin_up_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps1

This is not a mailbox-friendly card, but is perfect for hand-delivery. I plan to make an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board to fit it. I embossed the card front with the Softly Falling folder, which is carrying over to the new catalog.

The beach chair is a sneak peek from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets, also coming in the new catalog!

Stampin_up_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps5

I used the watercolor stamping-block technique on Shimmery White to get the subtle So Saffron, Soft Sky, Island Indigo colors behind the Basic Gray-stamped dancer from Beautiful You.

Stampin_up_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps3

Both "celebrate" and "so Happy for You" are Beautiful You phrases. This is the back flap of the card cover.

This was a fun card to make!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Lists Expired Yesterday! SO SORRY!!!!! Simply Sketched

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Lists Expired Yesterday! SO SORRY!!!!! Simply Sketched

Well, I goofed! The post that went out by email this morning was my post for yesterday, which contains time-sensitive information that EXPIRED YESTERDAY! I was involved with getting myself to the doctor to get new meds for my crazy cough (which I think worked as my coughing is much more controlled and not as wheezy) and missed the deadline for yesterday's post to go out to you same day. I'm SO SORRY!!!!!!!

The NEW CATALOG is all that you can order from now, but don't despair, it is fabulous! You can go to the "catalogs" area in my left-sidebar and click on the new catalog. The new catalog will begin downloading for you from there. It may take a few minutes, depending on your internet connection, but you can then scroll through the entire catalog at your leisure!

If you do not have your own demonstrator but would like to receive one from me, I will be happy to send you one for the price of Flat Rate Priority Shipping, which is $5.60. You will receive your catalog in 2-3 days after I mail it. Any other way might be cheaper, but it would take longer to get to you and would not be as well-protected as the Priority Mailer cardboard envelopes provide.

Email me HERE at carol@carolpaynestamps.com to let me know you want one and I will send you a Paypal invoice for the shipping. You do not have to have a Paypal account to use the invoice link, just a credit card.

Since I've been too distracted with being sick to do any new stamping, I've a few of my newest monthly swaps to show you using the new Hostess Set, Simply Sketched:

Simply sketched kathy johnson
Kathy Johnson used a bit of watercoloring on this card along with new Gingham Garden Designer Paper and a Very Vintage Button. The sympathy greeting in part of the set.

Note: Simply Sketched is only available for Hostesses to purchase. You have to hostess a party or submit an order of at least $150 to be able to purchase this exclusive hostess-only set!

Simply sketched loraine duran
Lorraine Duran used her clear acrylic block to ink the Strawberry Slush background for the focal images. Quatrefancy Specialty Paper in the Strawberry Slush color coordinates amazingly well with the Primrose Petals 3/8" Stictched Satin Ribbon!

That's all for today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

While we are waiting for tomorrow, I have more virtual swaps to share with you, using Wildflower Meadow stamps and Textured Impressions Folder!

Wildflower meadow illuminate
This beauty was stamped with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad, which IS carrying over into the New catalog!

Wildflower meadow red

Love the Stripe embossed background cut with an Oval Collection Framelit to “frame” the markered Wildflower Meadow stamp!

Wildflower meadow markers
Another markered beauty! This one has the envelope generation-stamped to achieve the lighter-stamped look!

Wildflower meadow coastal cabana
New In-Color Coastal Cabana was brayered onto the folder before the paper was inserted for this one! Label Love stamp was punched with the Artisan Label punch! The Natural 7/16″ Trim is also carrying over!

Wildflowr meadow 1
Another marker sensation, this time was probably spritzed with water before stamping to give it the watercolor look!

Wildflower meadow 2

This final one I am CASEING for my New Catalog Open House on Saturday! It’s a fantastic example of “spotlighting” by my good friend Patsy Waggoner!

That’s all for today! I’ll be back in the morning for a little more swap love while we wait for OEX to open at noon MT!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Oh, and I almost forgot, TODAY is the last day to sign up as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator to get the extra $30 in your Starter Kit! Go to my website through the “Join My Team” tab at the top of this blog, then click on the “Join the Fun” tab on the extreme right of my website. It will step you through the process! Stampin’Up! Gently Falling Sponged Watercolor!

Stampin’Up! Gently Falling Sponged Watercolor!

Another project from yesterday's Punch/Technique Class, a CASE of a Founder's Circle swap from Tami White I call "Sponged Watercolor"!

Gently falling 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Inside:

Gently falling 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The technique is incredibly simple:

  • Stamp image first in lightest color of ink (maple leaf was first stamped on a More Mustard stamp pad
  • Ink up a Sponge Dauber in darker color of ink (Cajun Craze ink was sponged around the edges of maple leaf, re-inking the dauber and continuing to add color until I had an intense application all around the edges of the leaf)
  • Spritz inked surface with plain water. (I held my stamp away from me as I sprayed at but not directly onto the stamp. This way the ink was wet, but not pushed around on the stamp by the force of the spray)
  • Stamp onto cardstock, holding the stamp on the paper (on this sample Naturals White) for a few extra seconds longer than normal to allow the ink to saturate the paper a bit more)
  • Allow the ink & paper to dry. The paper may bump up a bit at first from the extra moisture, but will flatten as it dries.

Here's sample showing the same leafed inked the same way but the leaf on the left has been spritzed with water and the one on the right has not:

Gently falling 3

Amazing the difference a little bit of added moisture can make, eh?

Stampin’Up! Everybunny

Just a quick post to catch you up a bit. I am posting from my SIL's house in TN. We are here for a short visit till Sunday evening. I had planned to set up posts for while we were gone, but we had wind gusts on Friday of up to 45 mph which blinked our power off and on rapidly several times before going off completely for a few hours. The aftermath of this blinking is the router for our internet seems to be ruined and it will be at least Monday before we can get our internet provider to replace it. My posts will be spotty until this is resolved. I am posting from my SIL's internet.

Here's a cute little swap card I received at Leadership from Patti McDermott with the adorable set "Everybunny":

Patti is a real watercolor artist, something I'm afraid I will never be, but I just had to share this with you since Easter will be upon us before we know it!

I have some really adorable stuff I am dying to show you, I just can't share until the internet issues are resolved, but until then I hope you have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
