Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blues and Golds!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blues and Golds!

Hey there! It's chilly, gray,  and dreary today. More like November than October. Time changes this weekend too. The year is winding down, isn't it?

Today I have TWO Gentle Peace cards for you:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_navy_1 - Copy

Night of Navy base, Soft Sky embossed with the Lucky Stars folder. A layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer cut with Stars Framelits. Same framelit to cut the white heat-embossed Gentle Peace image on Night of Navy. A few Rhinestones for extra sparkle.

Inside The Newborn King and Gentle Peace:

I liked this design so well I created another in these colors:

Basic Black base, Lucky Stars-embossed Brushed Gold, a Champagne Glimmer paper star, finishing up with a gold heat-embossed image on Cherry Cobbler. I colored a Rhinestone with my Gold Stampin' Dazzle marker to put in the center of the star.

Inside I continued the gold embossing with the star and phrase:

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blackberry Bliss!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blackberry Bliss!

Hey there! For today's Gentle Peace Week sample I went the more traditional route, coloring the "stained glass" image with Blendabilities alcohol markers:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_1 - Copy

I embossed the background with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder. After stamping the stained glass image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with the Blendabilites (I always loved my crayons when I was little, these are just big girl crayons!) I patted the whole image with a Versamark pad, then heat-embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder. Just the right sparkle!

To create the background for the "merry Christmas" from Petite Pairs, I stamped the circular star image from Gentle Peace with Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White, stamped the greeting with Memento ink, then washed over both images with the medium Daffodil Delight Blendability. I then punched with my Word Window Punch.

I love how well the images in The Newborn King set coordinate with Gentle Peace. I went clean-and-simple with just Memento ink Tuxedo Black ink on the inside.

That's all for today! There's still two more days of Gentle Peace Week left, so come back again tomorrow for more!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Hardwood!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Hardwood!

Hey there! It's Wednesday already? Wow, time sure can fly! I created this card with the Gentle Peace set for a class coming up:

Stampin_up_Gentle_Peace_hardwood_1 - Copy

I wanted something clean-and-simple for the class since we don't have a lot of time on a week night, so I modified the card from yesterday to make it easier but still have the down-to-earth feel.

I simply stamped the main image with Early Espresso in on Naturals Ivory cardstock, cut it out with Paper Snips, then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.

I inked the Hardwood Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink to stamp on the Soft Suede layer.

After stamping the greeting with Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Naturals Ivory, I again used the banner framelit from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets to cut it out.

Before adding the greeting to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, I tied three strands pulled from an 8" piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon into a knot and adhered to the side of the card with a glue dot. The Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the banner allow it to be adhered over the knot.

Inside I stamped the main image from The Newborn King in the lower right corner with Crumb Cake ink and a greeting from the same set with Early Espresso.

Sponging the edges of the inside layer with Crumb Cake ink keeps the theme of the front in harmony with the inside.

That's all for now! Here's the supply list for today's project. Click on any image to find it in my online store or click on this link: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day The Newborn King and a Park Lane Purse for Alisa!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day The Newborn King and a Park Lane Purse for Alisa!

Hey there! It's Sunday! Today our family is celebrating Alisa's birthday! yay!

Today's cards are made with The Newborn King set in the Holiday Catalog.

First, Phyllis Shepherd used Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Embossing Powder for her main image. She tied a bit of Linen Thread around a fold of Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon to dangle an All is Calm Snowflake Embellishment.

Next, Glenda Travelstead used the Spotlighting technique for the manger scene she beautifully colored and shaded. The punched circle of Champagne Glimmer paper is the perfect finishing touch!

Finally, Genevieve Ko used Back to Black Designer and Silver Glimmer Paper to highlight the Manger scene for a timeless-yet-contemporary look:

This year I have been trying to make a special one-of-a-kind card for each of my children and grandbabies for their birthday. Alisa loves to design and sew fabric purses, so here's my attempt to create a purse for her with my favorite crafting medium:

After I punched the Park Lane Designer Paper with the Postage Stamp Punch, I adhered them to my Blackberry Bliss base, then embossing with the Honeycomb folder. I colored the Very Vintage Designer Button with my Rich Razzleberry Blendability marker, then tied a bit of Gold 1/8" Ribbon through the holes before adhering with a glue dot.
