Stampin’ Up! Snow Day Ornament Make & Take!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day Ornament Make & Take!

Just a quick post. I'm off soon to the Mt Vernon Teacher's Conference for the next two days. I will be meeting and sharing with several hundred teachers from Jefferson, Franklin, and other counties here in Southern Illinois!

I want to share with you the little ornament/tag I will have available for attendees to make:

Snow day tag

Here's my favorite little snowman guy again from the Snow Day stamp set, stamped with Whisper White Craft ink, Jet Black StazOn, Cherry Cobbler, and Tangerine Tango. He is cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits and the Big Shot. He is sponged around the edges with the White Craft ink too!

That's all for now. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day for Debbie!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day for Debbie!

Today (Saturday) I had the pleasure to introduce my dear sister-in-law, Debbie, to Stampin' Up! Debbie & I have been married to brothers for over 30 years, we were pregnant with our first three babies almost at the same times, and we have considered  each other our "partners in crime" for most of that time!

This weekend Debbie came up for a visit from her home in Franklin, TN, and went to a Stamp-a-Stack workshop with me. Deb has been watching me with my Stampin' Up! business for the past almost 11 years, but had never had a chance to actually stamp. She got to stamp today, ALOT! – 10 cards to be exact, and she loved it! She especially fell in love with the happy little snowman from the Snow Day stamp set. When we got home we designed this for her to make a stack of winter notecards:

Snow day for debbie

We pulled some elements from a few other Snow Day cards I had for her to see, then designed this simple card that is not really Christmas, but is more winter than anything else. The card base is Smoky Slate, layered with Whisper White and Winter Frost Designer Paper. Another layer of Smokey Slate, followed by the Whisper White layer for the snowman image stamped in Pool Party. We "stamped off" the ink on the snowflake stamp once on the grid sheet before stamping each snowflake. His smiley face and arms are Jet Black StazOn, his nose is Tangerine Tango, and his scarf and heart are Real Red. We are leaving the inside blank so she can use it all fall winter as a notecard for whatever occasion or reason she needs.

I really enjoyed sharing my love of stamping with her today! Sharing what I love is definitely one of my passions. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Don't forget, there's only TWO days left to purchas the $25 Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit! FIVE new demonstrators have already joined the first level of my team of Yes Mam! Stampers!, will you be next? Let me know if you need any help!

Stampin’ Up! Yes, Mam’s Aleta Heern & Sherry Peyton!

Stampin’ Up! Yes, Mam’s Aleta Heern & Sherry Peyton!

After featuring Linda Reaney and Angela Henson this week, I couldn't leave out a couple more great downline friends of mine, Aleta & Sherry!

First, Aleta Heern is my "oldest" downline member. By "oldest"  I don't mean her age, she is the gal who has been in my downline the longest, since February of 2005! Although I had several downline join my group before Aleta, none of those girls are still around. It happens. Stampin' Up! can fit your lifestyle and needs for a few years, and then things change and it's time to move on. Life is all about change. But while Aleta joined Stampin' Up! just to get the discount on her own purchases, she found stamping friends and now has a fun, loyal group she stamps with monthly. Her word for it is "play days". Sound great to me!

Here's Aleta's creation from our downline meeting this past Sunday using Joyful Christmas, Whisper White, Brushed Gold, Island Indigo, and the Encore Metallic Gold inkpad:

Aleta heern

Sherry Peyton is a more recent addition to my group, joining in September of last year. This is Sherry's second round as a demo. That's one of the great things about Stampin' Up! Just because you have to take a break for whatever reason, you can always come back!

Here's Sherry's creation using my favorite from the Holiday Catalog, Snow Day. Clean and simple, perfect for the beginning stamper but also great for a Stamp-a-Stack or to mass-produce for your Christmas card this year!

Sherry peyton 1

Sherry combined Pacific Point, Pool Party, and Whisper White cardstock with Winter Frost Designer Paper to create a perfect wintery background for the adorable snowman from this set. She added "pops" of red in his toboggan hat and scarf. Love it!

That's all for now. I have oodles to get done before my dear sister-in-law, Debbie, comes in for a weekend visit!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Petite Pennants Builder Candy Corn!

Stampin’ Up! Petite Pennants Builder Candy Corn!

Hey there! I've got something super cute to show you today! My hostess in Golconda, IL today wanted a project using the 1" x 8" Cellophane Bags, and she likes punch art, so we are making these:

Candy corn pennants 1
Aren't these little candy corn guys cute?!? I stamped the snowman face from Snow Day on one of the corns and I'm in LOVE!!!!

The other corn I stamped with "it's all about the candy" from Halloween Hello.

The candy corns themselves are 3/4" strips of Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight from the Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper package and a 3/4" strip of Very Vanilla polka-dot from the Neutrals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack adhered to a scrap of Very Vanilla, then punched with the Petitie Pennants Builder Punch.

The background of the tag is from the Truly Grateful, cut with the largest Chalk Talk Framelit, then matted with a piece of Early Espresso. I cut the corners of the E.E. layer with my Paper Snips to coordinate with the corners of the Chalk Talk tag.

After filling the 1" x 8" Cellophane Bag with M & M's, (I used a clean drinking straw to poke them down into the bag and get them to lay correctly) I closed the bag with the adhesive strip on the bag and then stapled it to the back of the tag. I covered the staple on the front with a bow tied from 1/8" Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon.

Here's the completed project:

Candy corn pennants 2
This was so easy and so FUN!

These would make great Halloween treats, wouldn't they? To order your cellophane bags, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, and Chalk Talk Framelits, go to my Online Store! You can order just about anything else used on this project there too, except for the M & M's and the stapler!

That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping in to see what I've been up to! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Snowflakes!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Snowflakes!

For my Sunday Swap Day I decided to share with you some of the cute cards I have received as swaps featuring snowflakes!

Jan rodrian 2
Jan Rodrian used the Circle Thinlet Card Die, Winter Frost Designer Paper, a snowflake from the Snowflake Soiree set (on the Holiday Catalog Carryover List), and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel!

Jan rodrian 1
When you open and "flip" the card you see the "merry" and more snowflakes from Snowflake Soiree, along with a phrase from another Carryover set, More Merry Messages!

Megan daves 1
Meg Daves also used the Circle Card Thinlet Die and Winter Frost Designer Paper, adding a current Holiday Catalog snowflake from the Festive Flurry set which she cut out with a coordinating Festive Flurry Framelit!

Megan daves p
Meg finished her "flip" side with a phrase from the Holiday Catalog set, Christms Messages.

Tamie ackerson 1
Tamie Ackerson combined the Christmas Collectibles stamp & punch with the tried-and-true Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder and the new Stylish Stripes Folder. The "hanger" for the ornament is the new 1/8" Silver ribbon.

Tamie ackerson 2
Tamie stamped the inside of her card with one of the four fun greetings in the Joy to the World set.

Karen kurz 1
Karen Kurz white heat-embossed the cute little Snow Day snowman on Coastal Cabana cardstock, then stamped the snowflakes from the same set to complement the Winter Frost Designer Specialty Paper.

Karen kurz 2
Circle Thinlet Cards are really hot right now, and a fun feature of the die is the ability to add an extra flap, which Karen did for hers. She used a phrase from Petite Pairs to finish this card off just right!

Cathy stephenson 1
Last but definitely not least, Cathy Stephenson used the "dryer sheet" technique to add the look of snow over her stamped "Lovely As a Tree" trees.

Cathy stephenson 2 p
"Merry Christmas" from More Merry Messages says it all.

That's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day Froggie!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day Froggie!

Ever since I mounted my Snow Day stamp set from the Holiday Catalog I've been thinking about how much the little face stamp looked like a froggie's face. I came home from Dawn's workshop tonight, sat down and made one! Lookie:

Snow day froggie 1

Isn't he just the cutest little guy?

Here's the flip side of the card, then I will show you how I made his little froggy face!

Snow day froggie 2

Up close:

Snow day froggie 3

His face and body are the Small Oval Punch. His legs are the Small Heart Punch, and his feet are from the Owl Builder Punch!

To make his little froggy face, first I stamped this face image from Snow Day on a scrap of Pistachio Pudding cardstock with Jet Black StazOn ink. Then I centered the eyes in two of the scallops of the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch like this before I punched it out:

Snow day froggie 4

Next, I put the stamped-and-scalloped part in the Small Oval Punch and punched again:

Snow day froggie 5
After punching this time I had to do a little bit of trimming around the edges of his cheeks with my Paper Snips, but that's all!

Here's my supply list:

Stamps: Snow Day, Yippee Skippee!, Wetlands, Postage Collection Hostess (happy birthday)

Cardstock: Coastal Cabana (my new FAV color!), Very Vanilla, Pistachio Pudding, Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper

Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Jet Black StazOn

Big Shot: Circle Card Thinlet Dies

Accessories: Small Oval Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Small Heart Punch, Owl Builder Punch, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Stampin' Sponge, Glue Dots, SNAIL adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals
