Stampin’ Up! Paisleys & Posies For An October Class!

Stampin’ Up! Paisleys & Posies For An October Class!

Hey there! If all goes as planned, I hope to hold a Paisleys & Posies class on Friday, October 14th at my house. Class attendees will pre-pay for the class so I can order the Paisleys & Posies Bundle and the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Paper for each of them before class so they will have their own stamps to use during the session.

Today's card uses the Watercolor Resist technique:

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps1

The Paisleys & Posies images are embossed on Watercolor Paper with clear embossing powder, then washed over with Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon, and Rich Razzleberry using an AquaPainter.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps2

Rich Razzleberry ribbon from teh 3/8" Ribbon Trio Pack, a Delicate White Doily, snippets of Petals & Paisleys Specialty paper, and Copper Metallic Thread combine to create a pleasing hodgepodge of embellishment.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps3

The emboss-resist technique combined with watercoloring with the AquaPainter is easy-peasy! I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere after watercoloring as the dampness of the paper warps it a bit.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used the same Watercolor Resist technique, but I stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy Classic ink instead of heat-embossing. This resulted in the ink blurring a bit, so I'm thinking I will need to work on an alternate inside for class.

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Words for a Fall Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Words for a Fall Birthday!

Hey there! Today I'm going shopping with my 9-months-pregnant daughter, Alisa. She has a few little things she still wants to find for her new (and first!) daughter. She's due on Sunday, so not much longer to wait!

I created today's card with Watercolor Words, Vintage Leaves, and another one of the Seasonal Decorative Masks in the Holiday catalog. This was one of those cards that when I finished it, I was like, "meh", but when I go up this morning and saw it with "fresh eyes", I liked it!

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps1

I used a Sponge Brayer to apply Soft Sky ink through the paisley decorative mask. I applied the ink more boldly in the center, then used less ink around the edges for a softer look. It was quick and easy to use the mask and the brayer to decorate the envelope flap.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped-off Cajun Craze ink on the leaf before stamping over the sponged paisley to keep with the softer background look.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped the Watercolor Words greeting with Island Indigo, then added a few gold sequins to give this flat card a bit of sparkle.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps4

I sponged with the mask again for the inside and used a Grateful Bunch sentiment.

A pretty simple card! Go to my online store to get your supplies: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! September Paper Pumpkin Something Good To Eat!

Stampin’ Up! September Paper Pumpkin Something Good To Eat!

Hey there! My September Paper Pumpkin kit arrived! I used a few of the stamps to create a batch of cute "hello" cards:

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps1

I kept my design simple, using Kraft 12"x12" card stock for the card base, and stamping on Very Vanilla with Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso, and Old Olive ink.

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps2

I've been itching to use the Seasonal Decorative Masks from the Holiday catalog, so I sponged Old Olive ink with a Sponge Dauber through the "petals" mask.

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps3

After sponging through the mask, I flipped it over and "stamped" the inside Very Vanilla layer with the left-over ink before adding Cottage Greetings sentiments.

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps4

The Delightful Dijon-sponged version. I also sponged the envelope flap.

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps5

I stamped two sunflowers, cutting with Paper Snips. After layering with a dimensional in between, I stamped a third flower with Old Olive to add for leaves. "A Happy Hello To You" was stamped with Early Espresso.

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps9

The sunflower works as a single layer too. I wound Gold Metallic Thread around my fingers a couple of times, pinched in the middle before adhering under the dimensional attaching the flower.

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps7

Cottage Greetings offers several perky sentiments!

Stampin_up_something_good_to_eat_carolpaynestamps11

I altered my original design by stamping the sentiment first, then sponging through the mask to leave the sentiment area free of color.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop September Edition, Cards That MOVE!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop September Edition, Cards That MOVE!

Hey there! It's time for the September edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

Our theme this month is cards that move. You will be amazed at the varied and inspiring samples we have to share!

For my project I decided to use one of my favorite card folds, the Window Card. I wanted a fall theme, so I used Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper and Vintage Leaves.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_carolpaynestamps1

I pulled out Thoughts & Prayers for the sentiments. Fall colors work well for a sympathy card.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_carolpaynestamps2

This fun fold provides a lot of options to add sentiments, much more than the usual book-fold style card, but really doesn't take much more card stock.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_carolpaynestamps3

I also used the coordinating Leaflets Framelits to cut out the window and the leaves. Sponging with Early Espresso ink adds contrasting dimension.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_carolpaynestamps4

To make sure I placed the greeting leaf correctly through the window, I folded the card closed, then added dimensionals to the inside fold before placing the leaf.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_carolpaynestamps5

I stamped-off Cajun Craze ink for the leaf, then stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_carolpaynestamps6

I finished off the front by tying Kraft Rope Trim. After I knotted the ends I frayed it using a Paper-Piercing Tool.

Here's the supply list for my card. You can order all the supplies from my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
