Stampin’ Up! Halloween Owl Candy Pockets!

Stampin’ Up! Halloween Owl Candy Pockets!

Hey there! I'm back with the Halloween treat holders I promised you yesterday!

I found similar little owl pocket treat holders on several different sites, so not sure exactly who to give original credit to, but here they are!

Owls 1

Aren't they just ADORABLE???? They are super easy to make, as you can see by the whole PILE of them I made in practically no time this evening!

Here are the dimensions: 8 1/2" x 2 3/4", scored at 4 1/4. Punch each end with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. Fold on the scored line, add strong adhesive (Sticky Strip or Tear & Tape) along the long sides. Add the owl pieces and you are done1

I used Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, & Whisper White cardstock along with Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper. Punches used were the 2 1/2" Circle, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Small Heart, Label Bracket, and Hexagon.

I stamped images from the Holiday Catalog sets: Perfectly You Hostess Set, Tags 4 You, and Halloween Hello in Jet Black StazOn. I used Sticky Strip, SNAIL adhesive, Tombow Glue, and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's each little guy up close:

I LOVE these little guys! They are so fun to make and one piece of candy fits snugly in them!

Whether you need cute little pockets for Trick-or-Treaters, Halloween Party favors, or for classroom gifts, these would be just perfect! I'm thinking I need to make some of these for Thanksgiving too, what do you think? If I do, I will be sure to share them with you!

That's all for now! You can purchase all the supplies to make these fun little owly guys from my Online Store! Just click on the "shop now" button on the right side of this blog to get there and start shopping!

Stampin’Up! Witches’ Brew Halloween Hello!

Stampin’Up! Witches’ Brew Halloween Hello!

Hey there! Hope you had a good weekend! My church had their 85th Annual Homecoming Service yesterday with special music, a special speaker, and "dinner on the grounds"! The rest of our day was spent relaxing with our family here at our house!

I have another swap card for you today, this one by Pat Ertman. Pat combined the Halloween Hello stamp set with Witches' Brew Designer Paper and the Circle Thinlet Card Die:

Pat ertman halloween hello 1

I love all the fun halloween-ey patterns in the Witches Brew paper, don't you? The pattern on the left looks a little bit like googly eyes, and the pattern on the right is just perfect vintage halloween to me! Pat stamped her Halloween Hello images in Jet Black StazOn, then colored the candy corn with Stampin' Write Markers and the White Chalk Marker!

Pat ertman halloween hello 2
When the card is opened and "flipped", it reveals the little witchy from this same set. Pat stamped her on Summer Starfruit with Jet Black StazOn, then punched her with the 1" Circle punch to create a really easy full-moon effect!

That's all for now! I need to hit the hay because Liam is spending the night with me again for the second Sunday night in a row and he will be up bright and early! I usually go to his house in the morning, but there's some crazy railroad crossing construction going on between his house and mine last Monday and tomorrow, so we decided it would be best if he just spent the night with me on Sunday nights until it is over. I love my job! What other job lets me take care of my grandbabies AND stamp too??!

Halloween will soon be here! Will you be ready? Tomorrow I will have some fun candy projects for Halloween to show you!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Cuddles & Kisses!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Cuddles & Kisses!

Hey there! I had a fun day today! The girls had a wedding to shoot, which is not uncommon for Saturdays, especially in the fall, but the neat thing today was that I got to baby-sit both Liam AND Oakley! A 13-month old and a 2-month old! Wow, things were really hopping around here for awhile! Liam is fascinated by Oakley. He is very careful around him and mostly just likes to watch him wiggling and kicking in the swing. Needless to say, I had no time for blogging while they were here!

One of my monthly swaps arrived today, and it was fabulous! The theme this month was cards that move, with a focus on the Thinlet Card Dies. In honor of Liam & Oakley today, I'm going to share the two baby cards from the swap!

First up, Audra Moncur used Embellished Events with Cuddles & Kisses and the Circle Thinlet Card Die:

Audra moncur embellished events cuddles and kisses 1

She used Coastal Cabana & Whisper White cardstock, 2013-2015 In-Color Designer Paper, the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder, Daffodil Delight ink and Basic Black ink.

Audra moncur embellished events cuddles and kisses 2
Inside she repeated the ducky from the front on the extra fold. I will have to show you how to do this, won't I? The verse is from Cuddles and Kisses in Basic Black.

I LOVE these flip cards, don't you? Back in the day when I first started as a Stampin' Up! demo, I learned how to make a flip card, but is was all squares and the folds had to be scored with the paper trimmer, then the flip part had to be individually cut with the trimmer too. It could be done, but now the Thinlet Card Dies and the Big Shot make it SO EASY!!!!

Next, Lorraine Duran partnered Soft Sky, So Saffron, and Whisper White with the Baby Prints and Cuddles & Kisses stamp sets for a softer look. Surprisingly, the Designer Series Paper is from the Winter Frost Designer Paper Stack! She used the same Perfect Polka Dots folder on the front flap, along with a So Saffron ink-dyed 3/8" White Taffeta Ribbon. A neat benefit of the Thinlet Card Dies; they come with more than just the basic die to cut and score the card! The Circle Thinlet Card Die has a total of 10 dies in the set! The So Saffron scallop circle on this card was cut with one of these dies and is created to fit perfectly! No joke!

Lorraine duran baby prints cuddles and kisses 1

Open the card "flips" to show the "it's a boy" from Baby Prints, and the extra added flap again provides more room for the Cuddles & Kisses sentiment. Lorraine also sponged a bit of So Saffron ink around the scallop circle on this side to keep the color continuity going.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Stamp For Nancy!

Stampin’ Up! Stamp For Nancy!

Hello! Today I want to show you up close three of the six cards we will be making at the "Stamp For Nancy" fundraiser this Friday night. Some of them you've seen before, but others are brand-new!

Cycle Celebration birthday inspired by Dena Rekow:

Cycle celebration 1

All of the stamped images are from Cycle Celebration. The card base is Bermuda Bay and then Birthday Basics Designer Paper is layered on Raspberry Ripple cardstock. A Bermuda Bay 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and Clear Dazzling Details will be our finishing touches!

Cycle celebration 2

Next, my original creation using the Label Love stamp set and the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Folder:

Label love 1
The Early Espresso card base is layered with Crisp Cantaloupe. Crisp Cantaloupe ink was added to the inside of the textured impressions folder by rubbing the inkpad directly onto the negative side of the folder. Lots of fun banners on this card, using 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon, Early Espresso cardstock, and Soho Subway Designer Paper. A single Early Espresso Candy Dot is the finishing touch in the lower right corner for this one!

Label love 2
Inside verse is from the Make a Wish stamp set, accented with the Off the Grid background stamp.

Next up is a Gingham Garden Washi Tape card. This card is just so bright & cheery!

Yippee skippee 1

Island Indigo card base, layered with Whisper White! The Bitty Butterfly was punched from the Melon Mambo cardstock, then the Artisan Label was punched around the negative image left after the butterfly piece has been removed. It is layered over several rows Gingham Garden Washi Tape. "You can never have too much happy" is stamped in Melon Mambo ink and accented by a Daffodil Delight Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack scallop circle flower and a rhinestone.

Yippee skippee 2
"Happy Birthday" is from the Rembering Your Birthday set. The bitty butterfly punched previously is used here as more embellishment!

That's all for now! I will be back tomorrow with the three Christmas Cards we will make!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry Swaps!

Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry Swaps!

Hello! I've had a really good day today. Lots of family around here all day, and now Liam is spending the night! Troy had a question for me today when I mentioned Liam was "spending the night". He wanted to know why we say "spend the night", instead of "sleep-over" or "stay". I really had no answer, it is just something we say. Is is just our area of the country? What do you say?

Since we had a family day around here today, I decided to share a couple more of my monthly swaps with you, this time using the Festive Flurry stamps and framelits from the Holiday Catalog. Stampin' Up! knew we would all want them so much they even put them together in a bundle so you can save 15%, how about that?

First up, Lorraine Duran's creation:

Lorraine duran 1
Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Folder, Island Indigo & Whisper White cardstock, Silver Glimmer Paper, Crumb Cake & Island Indigo ink, an Extra Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel, and "a very merry christmas" from the Wishing You stamp set!

Lorraine duran 2
After cutting out the negative space with one of the Festive Flurry Framelits, she added a layer of clear Window Sheet to suspend and attach the rest of the snowflake! (so sorry the picture is blurry!)

Renee watson
Rene Watson used the Festive Flurry stamps and framelits for her gorgeous creation, along with Silver heat-embossing and the Perfect Pairs stamp set for the greeting!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Fall Thankfulness!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Fall Thankfulness!

Wow, what a FUN day I've had, stamping, laughing, and sharing with good friends!

Since I've spent my day stamping away but working on class kits for club members who were unable to attend this month, I do not have anything new to show you, so I'm relying on my stash of monthly swaps for today's post!

Laura Milligan created this card using the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Folder and the Harvest of Thanks stamp set. Laura used the new Deco Label Framelits to cut out the turkey image. I especially lke the way she spritzed (or splattered) the Early Espresso reinker over it as a finshing touch!

Laura miligan

Megan Wheeler did a beautiful job on her card using one of the Expressions Thinlets Dies and Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper!

Megan wheeler

And finally, Rhonda Bassler used the Pretty Print folder and Harvest of Thanks stamps with Sweater Weather Designer Paper. I love how there are so many different designs in each pack of paper, you can always find something to coordinate perfectly on your project! A bit of Burlap 1 1/4" Ribbon, a leaf cut from the Autumn Accents Die, and a greeting cut with an Itty Bitty Banners Framelit add texture and interest. Rhonda also cut out the "HARVEST of Blessings" image with an Apothercary Accents Framelit.

Stampin’Up! Reinker Blowing Technique with Magnificent Maple!

Stampin’Up! Reinker Blowing Technique with Magnificent Maple!

Hello! I know I'm really late posting today, but I had the first session of my SWOW/Christmas Card Class today and I'm just now getting time to post!

However, you are in for a real treat, because I had some time to play this evening while my last stamper was here (hey, Natasha!) and I made THIS:

Reinker blowing 1

I'm really excited about it! I LOVE it! I used the Reinker Blowing Technique to layer the fall colors for my leaf: Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive.

Reinker blowing 4

To do the Reinker Blowing Technique all you need  are Classic Ink refills in your colors of choice and a common, ordinary drinking straw! I started with my Tangerine Tango reinker first. I put a couple of drops (enough to make a reinker "puddle") on the Very Vanilla cardstock in the lower third, then immediately started blowing the reinker across the cardstock with the straw. The reinker will stream across the cardstock pretty much any way it wants, but you can direct it a little with the direction and force of your blowing. (Don't blow too much for too long without taking a break or you might get light-headed. Ask me how I know this. ha!) I repeated the process with Crushed Curry, then Rich Razzleberry, and finally with Old Olive. After the I had blown all the colors across the cardstock once, I then added & blew more drops of color wherever I felt like needed more of that color. The cardstock on the above left shows approximately what the blown reinker looks like. The leaf on the right is after I cut it out with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and then sponged Chocolate Chip ink on all the edges. I actually used the backside of the leaf instead of the front because the backside had more of the Tangerine Tango color in the center as you can see in the picture below:

Reinker blowing 5

I used the new set, Lots of Thanks, from the Annual Catalog for my greeting and inside sentiment. I stamped them in Chocolate Chip, as well as the Magnificent Maple stamp all around the edges of the Very Vanilla layer. My card base is Chocolate Chip with a Cajun Craze layer under the Very Vanilla layer. After stamping all the maple leaves around the edges I ran it through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder, then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.

Reinker blowing 3
I cut the banner around the "thank you" greeting with one of the new Circle Card Framelit Dies. I dirtied up the Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon with Chocolate Chip ink before tying in a bow and adding a Vintage Trinket safety pin!

Reinker blowing 2

Inside I stamped the Magnificent Maple around the edges of the Very Vanilla layer with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Chocolate Chip before adding a bit more Chocolate Chip sponging all around!

Well, I'm yawning my head off, so I'd better close and head to bed!

To order your Magnificent Maple stamp, Autumn Accents Die, Lots of Thanks stamp set, or anything else I used for my creation today, go to my website: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
