Stampin’ Up! Age Awareness

Stampin’ Up! Age Awareness

Hey there. Today is my first Punch & Technique Class in over a year. and I'm excited! Everything is ready!

Today's card is a convention swap. Have I told you how much I LOVE Flashback Designer Series Paper? I do! This paper is appropriately named. I grew up in the 60's, and the colors just scream this decade! I used Age Awareness and Bomb's Away Birthday photopolymers, which are quirky and sarcastic:

Stampin_up_age_awareness_1

In keeping with the retro "flashback" look, I decided to use the Circle Card Thinlet die, adding a 2 1/2" Basic Black circle with a Flashback circle center to add a rock n' roll element.

The "flip" side of the record:

Stampin_up_age_awareness_2

The outside panel I covered with my "favorite fave" from the Flashback paper: Real Red, Hello Honey, Smoky Slate, and Pool Party. Combined with Very Vanilla in the background, these colors are so yuuuummmy!

Stampin_up_age_awareness_3

The center and far right panels are busy with a piece of Typeset Designer paper, another Age Awareness phrase, and a wise-cracking phrase from Bomb's Away Birthday.

  Stampin_up_age_awareness_4

The clear photopolymer stamps make  it super-duper easy to stamp the candles right on top of the banner strip without having to pull out the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

Stampin_up_age_awareness_5

That's all for now. Did you check out the re-stocked Clearance Rack yet? I checked and there's some fun new stuff at fantastically reduced prices! Go HERE to browse and shop.

Here's the supply list for the Age Awareness card:

Stampin’ Up! Work of Art Blackberry Bliss Blossom!

Stampin’ Up! Work of Art Blackberry Bliss Blossom!

Hey there! I had unexpected company today, Alisa, Cody & Oakley, and Kimberly, Tony, & Liam! They all came over to play in the baby pool (which they ALL fit in, BTW) and then afterward Alisa & Kimmy helped me with my convention swaps! They really helped boost me forward! Thanks, sweethearts!

Today I have another card we made last month at a Stamp-a-Stack with the Work of Art set:

Stampin_up_work_of_art_1
I had received a swap that was stamped with Hello Honey for the bloom and decided I wanted to try it with Blackberry Bliss. I LOVE IT!

This card is smaller than the normal A2 size we usually stamp. I used Whisper White Notecards and envelopes, layered on Mossy Meadow, then finished with another Whisper White layer to stamp. I used Hello Honey 3/8" Striped Satin Ribbon for the bow, and punched out the center greeting with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

Here's a tip to stamp the leaves on the stem. Ink up each end of the chevron stamp in the Work of Art set separately, then stamp with each end to create the leaves. Easy peasy!

Work of art flower stems

On the inside I used more Work of Art stamps to create the butterfly and the smaller  bloom at the bottom:

Stampin_up_work_of_art_2
I inked just a bit of the end of the flower stem stamp with a Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Marker to stamp the body of the butterfly after I had stamped the wings with the heart from the set. I used the heart to stamp the smaller bloom too!

Work of art butterfly middle

It's SO EXCITING! Stampin' Up! is adding NEW items to the clearance rack today!

Stampin’ Up! Blended Bloom in Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie!

Stampin’ Up! Blended Bloom in Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie!

Hey there! I'm back again with another Blended Bloom card with the Emboss Resist technique again. I used sponge daubers again just like I did with yesterday's card, but this time I used Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Tangerine Tango:

Stampin_up_blended_bloom_4 - Copy
I added a bit of Early Espresso to the centers of both flowers to give them more definition. This card is a more direct CASE of one by Brenda Keenan, although instead of cutting out leaves I embossed Old Olive cardstock with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Folder and then sponged the raised areas with more Old Olive ink. I think this gives a foliage-background-look, don't you think?

The greeting is from the Bloom with Hope Hostess set, punched with the Modern Label punch.

Stampin_up_blended_bloom_5 - Copy

Inside I stamped with more Bloom with Hope images, using the "Rock and Roll" technique to get both Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo ink on the blooms.

That's all for now! Here's the supply list for today. Click HERE for my Online Store:

Stampin’ Up! Blended Bloom!

Stampin’ Up! Blended Bloom!

Hey there! My newsletter is going out later today with new Weekly Deals and Christmas in July info, including a tutorial/tip to simplify using the Flower Fair Framelit and Flower Patch stamps. If you don't receive my newsletters, sign up on my sidebar NOW!

Today's Brenda Keenan inspiration uses the Blended Bloom single stamp, which was designed with Blendability alcohol markers in mind. When it took longer than anticipated for Blendabilities to become available, we had to find alternate techniques to use with this stamp. The Blendabilities ARE available to order now, but I love this technique using Sponge Daubers:

Stampin_up_blended_bloom_1 - Copy

I heat-embossed with white powder on Shimmery White cardstock first. Using a sponge dauber, Daffodil Delight ink is applied with a soft, circular motion to the bloom's center first, then Coastal Cabana is applied around the Daffodil Delight, allowing the inks to overlap a bit. Finish with Island Indigo around the outer edges, overlapping the Coastal Cabana. Cut out with Paper Snips before mounting on the Large Polka Dot-embossed layer. Flower Frenzy Bigz L leaves tuck behind the blooms. Greeting is from A Dozen Thoughts.

Stampin_up_blended_bloom_3 - Copy

Inside the same inks plus Old Olive stamp images from Sassy Salutations and Garden Party.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow for another color combo with this set!
