Stampin’ Up! Autumn Christmas Quilt!

Stampin’ Up! Autumn Christmas Quilt!

Hey there! I've been playing a bit with the Quilted Christmas Suite! I love fall, with all of the warm colors, so I'm playing with fall colors: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip! Sounds like Thanksgiving dinner, doesn't it?

I have a few projects lined up over the next few days to share, but first I want to share this straightforward card that also uses the Quilt Builder Framelits and Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps1

I cut the same design from Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Chip card stock with a Quilt Builder Framelit Die, then used some of the pieces of each color to create the "quilt block" After adhering the block to the Very Vanilla layer and then the Crushed Curry layer, I embossed the whole thing with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This technique is called "Inlaid Embossing".

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps2

I also stamped a Painted Harvest greeting with Early Espresso ink on the lower part of the vanilla layer before embossing. I added a single Gold Faceted Gem to the lower right corner for some sparkle.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I stamped my favorite greeting from Butterfly Basics with Early Espresso ink, as well as couple of blooms from Christmas Quilt with Cajun Craze.

Stampin’ Up! Shutter Cards from Vacation Stamping School!

Stampin’ Up! Shutter Cards from Vacation Stamping School!

Hey there! I'm still struggling a bit with technology (still lots of passwords to re-establish, as well as printer connections, etc), and now my washing machine is broken. I've called the repair people. They hope to be able to send someone to me tomorrow. Until then I took several loads to Kimberly's today to run through her washer while I babysit. She is a lifesaver!

Today I'm still sharing more projects we saw demonstrated and displayed at Vacation Stamping School. There were two sessions where we could watch demonstrators "demonstrate" how they made a project, fun fold, or technique. Laura Borchert demonstrated how to make a shutter card and also had several samples to see.

Her first sample used the Fresh Florals Designer Paper and the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set:

Stampin_up_beautiful_bouquet_carolpaynestamps1

The fun part is when you open the card to reveal the opening shutter:

Stampin_up_beautiful_bouquet_shutter_carolpaynestamps2

Coffee Cafe' and Coffee Break Designer Series Paper. I love the sponged "coffee" on the cup front!

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_shutter_carolpaynestamps1

The coffee bean paper is also found in the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper pack!

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_shutter_carolpaynestamps2

With Daisy Delight and Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper. Laura created a "bellyband" to keep this card closed.

Stampin_up_daisy_delight_carolpaynestamps1

I love the coordination of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers!

Stampin_up_daisy_delight_carolpaynestamps2

Laura paired Graceful Garden with the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_petal_garden_shutter_carolpaynestamps1

These shutter cards are very easy and so much fun!

Stampin_up_petal_garden_shutter_carolpaynestamps2

Finally, Laura used Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Star of Light stamps for a gorgeous Christmas shutter card:

She used Tranquil Tide 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon to create the bellyband instead of card stock.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 24!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 24!

Hey there! It's time for Sunday Swap Day! yay! Let's jump right in and get started!

First, an anonymous creator used the Paisley Framelits to cut Tranquil Tide  and Fresh Fig pieces to create the  the medallion. A Fresh Fig-stamped Better Together greeting coordinates well.

Stampin_up_better_together_carolpaynestamps1

She stamped the center with a Paisleys & Posies image using Fresh Fig ink, then cut with a Paisley Framelit.

Stampin_up_paisleys_posies_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Rebecca Prather cut out her falling leaves with a Seasonal Layers Thinlet, then embossed the Colorful Seasons greeting with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Stampin_up_colorful_seasons_carolpaynestamps1

She also cut a Copper Foil mat for the greeting with a Stitched Shapes Framelit. This gives the look of a metal-edged tag!

Stampin_up_colorful_seasons_carolpaynestamps2

Lyssa Zwolanek created her masterpiece with the Lemon Zest set:

Stampin_up_lemon_zest_carolpaynestamps

Veronica Cordry's creation with the Lovely Friends and Oh so Eclectic sets. Love the Berry Burst/Whisper White/Basic Black combo!

Stampin_up_lovely_friends_carolpaynestamps1

Karen Kurz' creation with the Text Ya Later set. With 59 photopolymer stamps, you can make endless combinations!

Finally, Amy Bell started with the Sheet Music background stamped on Dapper Denim with Dapper Denim ink. She used a Pattern Party Mask to add Embossing Paste in a medallion design. She then sprinkled Copper Embossing Powder over the embossing paste and heated with the Heat Tool.

A few strategically placed pearls add elegance.

"Just a Note" from the Soft Sayings Card Kit was stamped on vellum, and then anchored with a medallion created with 1/4" Copper Trim.

Stampin’ Up! Grown with Love for Fall!

Stampin’ Up! Grown with Love for Fall!

Hey there! Life has been pretty crazy this week. Yesterday Alisa came by to use our garden hose to try to blast a stray cat that has been living and riding around in her car all week. She doesn't have any cats at her house; she thinks it crawled into her car at Tuesday School. Yesterday was Thursday, so it's pretty amazing it's still there! It's come out a few times; she fed it and it even ran next door to her neighbor's house, but it keeps coming back to its' "home", her car!

We also had drop-in dear friend house guests last night!

I have had two stamping events this week and a third scheduled for tomorrow. Today's Grown with Love card is one of the cards we will be making tomorrow at Cindy's stamp camp!

This card is an adaptation of the Grown with Love card I shared with you HERE. I updated it to make it a little more fall with Cajun Craze for the layers and Peekaboo Peach 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding.

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping the wagon with Dapper Denim and cutting it out with the Garden Grown Framelit, we will use Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, and Dapper Denim Stampin' Write Markers to color the wagon full of produce, cutting it out with another Garden Grown Framelit. We will add a Touch of Nature Element in the bottom corner with a Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shape for the center. In real life the Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shape coordinates with the Peekaboo Peach ribbon, but it sure doesn't photograph well!

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_carolpaynestamps2.

Inside we will use a greeting from Big on Birthdays, stamped with Dapper Denim ink, and then add the produce at the bottom corner using markers to color again.

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_carolpaynestamps3

With all of the colors of inks, card stock, and embellishments in the Stampin' Up! catalogs, it's so easy to take the same design and stamps and adapt to suit your needs!

Stampin’ Up! Thailand Achiever’s Blog Hop September Edition Holiday Catalog Favorites!

14207747_1112855362100831_7710730354996407642_o

Hey there and welcome to the final month of the Thailand Achiever's Blog Hop. While this hop group is ending, another is beginning next month, the Alaska Achiever's Blog Hop, and just in case you were wondering, I will be participating in that hop too! yay!

Our theme for September is "Holiday Catalog Favorites". Right now you are at my blog Carol Payne Stamps. When you are done checking out my project, simply click on the name below mine on the list at the end of this post and you can continue on to see all rest of the wonderful projects we have prepared for you! Currently you are at Carol Payne.

For my project I used the Watercolor Christmas stamp set that coordinates with the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit. While I have the kit, I didn't use it for my project today. Instead I combined it with Be Merry Designer Series Paper (Annual Catalog) and the Spooky Cat Bundle.

Stampin_up_watercolor_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

I created two versions, stamping the bow from Cookie Cutter Christmas in Real Red on my first card, then a Garden Green bow on the second card. I think I like the Garden Green bow best. Which one do you like better?

I chose the candy-striped print from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper for my background. I'm trying, though not always successfully, to simplify my creations so they are easier for you to duplicate.

Stampin_up_watercolor_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped the sentiment from Watercolor Christmas with Real Red ink before punching with the Cat Punch. I ove the kitty's tail tangled up with the flourish-y words! After I punched out the cat I punched two more from Basic Black card stock to layer underneath the stamped kitty to complete the Eclipse technique.

Stampin_up_watercolor_christmas_carolpaynestamps3

I don't really make much Halloween stuff, but I had to purchase the Spooky Cat stamp set just so I could stamp the kitty's face! The bow from Cookie Cutter Christmas fits perfectly under his chin!

Stampin_up_watercolor_christmas_carolpaynestamps4

I used all Watercolor Christmas images and sentiment on the inside. Even if you don't buy the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit, the Watercolor Christmas stamps are a must have!

The red-bowed kitty:

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Eclipse!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Eclipse!

Hey there! At the same time I was creating my Painted Harvest Shutter card for the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop I also created today's card with the Eclipse technique:

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

It's a little bit modified from the original Eclipse technique because I didn't add the pieces back inside the "Happy Birthday". After I layered the stamped piece onto three more pieces cut with the Happy Birthday Thinlet, it was difficult to insert the pieces back in. I guess my layers were not perfectly lined up everywhere, but I think I like having the center open so the Fresh Fig color shines through. I embossed the stamped layer with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder before adhering to the card base, as well as sponged a little Crumb Cake to emphasize the embossing.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

I used the same sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet for the inside that I used in my shutter card a few days ago.  You can see that card HERE.

I think this sentiment was probably intended for a wedding, but these wishes are birthday appropriate too!
