Stampin’ Up! Here For You Easel Card!

Hey there! Did you have a good weekend? Ours was super-busy! I ran over to Fairview Heights to visit with my brother over lunch on Friday, on Saturday I went to Ivory's 1st birthday party, and Sunday we hosted our family September/October birthday gathering! Needless to say, I didn't have any time to blog yesterday, but I'm back again today with a new card I had almost forgotten to share with you!

When I was playing with the Quilted Christmas Suite I made one final card with a non-Christmas theme. I used a print from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper pack that turned out to be a perfect quilt-square print!

For this "quilt" all I did was cut an Early Espresso "quilt" with the Quilt Builder Framelits, then cut a second quilt with the same die from a piece of Spooky Night DSP!

After putting the DSP pieces back inside the Early Espresso frame and adhering to the Very Vanilla layer, I embossed it all with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added the tiniest heart from the Hearts & Stars Elements with a bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I used the Faux Suede technique to distress Peekaboo Peach card stock, separating the layers into two sheets before punching one with the Cat Punch. I sponged the edges with Peekaboo Peach ink for more depth. I added "I'm here for you", punched with the Classic Label punch.

This card is another easel fold. I guess you've figured out by now I get in a groove sometimes with a fold, color palette, or technique.

I used the bloom die from the Quilt Builder Framelits to create the "easel-stop". I added another tiny Hearts & Stars Element to the center. I love these tiny wooden accents!

Inside I used more Here for You phrases, then added the quilt stitching image with stamped-off Pumpkin Pie ink.

Stampin’ Up! Here For You Easel Card!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Eclipse!

Hey there! At the same time I was creating my Painted Harvest Shutter card for the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop I also created today's card with the Eclipse technique:

It's a little bit modified from the original Eclipse technique because I didn't add the pieces back inside the "Happy Birthday". After I layered the stamped piece onto three more pieces cut with the Happy Birthday Thinlet, it was difficult to insert the pieces back in. I guess my layers were not perfectly lined up everywhere, but I think I like having the center open so the Fresh Fig color shines through. I embossed the stamped layer with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder before adhering to the card base, as well as sponged a little Crumb Cake to emphasize the embossing.

I used the same sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet for the inside that I used in my shutter card a few days ago. You can see that card HERE.

I think this sentiment was probably intended for a wedding, but these wishes are birthday appropriate too!

Stampin’ Up! Merry Christmas!

Hey there and Merry Christmas! I'm so thankful that even though as I get older Christmas seems to keep coming faster and faster, it's still such a special time to reflect on faith and treasure my family. We are all gathered today to celebrate the birth of our Savior. First thing we will have a little "birthday party for Jesus" at breakfast with cupcakes and candles to blow out. After church we will be having Christmas dinner at our house, followed by the Christmas story read aloud from Luke chapter 2. Then we will have our family time to open presents. Different from most Christmas mornings where stockings and presents are the first order of the day. We usually have the Christmas story on Christmas Eve, but since Christmas is on Sunday we changed things up a bit.

This Christmas card I received from my friend Kristin Kortonick is just perfect for today. Kristin used the Joyful Nativity set from the Annual Catalog to create this masterpiece of simplicity:

Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim, and Very Vanilla with the Stitched Shapes Framelit circle and Softy Falling Textured Impressions Folder combine to make this card just right!

Next, Jessica Taylor also used Joyful Nativity, combining Cherry Cobbler, This Christmas Specialty Designer Paper, and Very Vanilla. LOVE the trumpeting angel heralding Christ's birth!

The sentiment of this card by my downline, Angie Lisk, pretty much sums up my prayer for all of you this season and for 2017:

She used a Stitched with Cheer sentiment, Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper, Flourish Thinlets, and the Softly Falling folder.

I hope you have a Christmas that is filled with the love and laughter of those you love the most, and that you will learn to seek His face more and more in 2017.

Next, Jessica Taylor also used Joyful Nativity, combining Cherry Cobbler, This Christmas Specialty Designer Paper, and Very Vanilla. LOVE the trumpeting angel heralding Christ's birth!

The sentiment of this card by my downline, Angie Lisk, pretty much sums up my prayer for all of you this season and for 2017:
