Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop March Edition, Color Challenge!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! Thirteen blogs with thirteen awesome ideas from top Stampin' Up! Demonstrators! yay!

March's Hop theme is a color challenge!

12800334_10208302250532443_2139346626269064900_n

This color challenge was REALLY a challenge for me! If you follow my blog you know I usually don't use this many colors on one card. Three at the most, and one is usually a  neutral, like Whisper White or Very Vanilla!

So I just played with these colors until I came up with this:

Stampin_up_petite_petals_carolpaynestamps1

I cut a stencil to sponge Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, and Calypso Coral butterflies on a Whisper White background, then stamped and punched Petite Petals flowers to match!

Stampin_up_petite_petals_carolpaynestamps2

I managed to use the Old Olive and Hello Honey colors by punching the leaves from Old Olive card stock and punching the flower centers from Hello Honey-stamped blooms with the tiny flower in the Tree Builder Punch!

Although the ribbon is Watermelon Wonder 1" Striped Satin, it coordinates perfectly with Calypso Coral, don't you think?

Inside I sponged more butterflies and stamped a greeting from the Perfect Pairings Sale-a-bration set. REMEMBER! Sale-a-bration will END on Thursday, March 31st, so be sure to place your order of $50 or more so you can get a freebie from the Sale-a-bration brochure!

Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation Achiever’s Blog Hop Remember to Give Thanks!

Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation Achiever’s Blog Hop Remember to Give Thanks!

GV_Blog_Hop_Banner_04
Hey there and welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for September. The theme for the hop this month is Remember to Give Thanks!

You may be starting from here at my blog, Carol Payne Stamps, or may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

For my contribution to the hop this month, I decided to use a tried and true technique that works perfectly with the thankful theme, Faux Silk!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_1 - Copy

I stamped Vintage Leaves with Hello Honey, Cajun Craze, and Mossy Meadow on plain tissue paper then crumpled it in my hand. After I opened the tissue and partially smoothed it, I covered a Very Vanilla layer with Stampin' Glue Stick and adhered the tissue to it, smoothing the tissue but still leaving a few wrinkles to give it more of a "slubbed silk" look.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_3 - Copy

I wrapped the edges of the tissue around to the back side of the vanilla layer and adhered with SNAIL, then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.

After I stamped the "thankful" greeting with Chocolate Chip and cut banner points with my Paper Snips, I sponged the acorn element with Chocolate Chip before adding with a glue dot. After I smushed the wooden leaves directly onto the ink pad I realized I could use them to "stamp" over the greeting, then adding with glue dots.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_2 - Copy - Copy

An Early Espresso 1/2" Seam Binding bow finishes off the front.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_faux_silk_4 - Copy

Inside I used a sentiment from Lighthearted Leaves, which coordinates perfectly with today's "Remember to Give Thanks" theme.

To order supplies used today, you can find them all in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day Vintage Leaves!

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day Vintage Leaves!

Hey there! Today I have a whole handful of gorgeous fall swaps to share!

First, Betty Button combined Vintage Leaves with the Layered Letters Alphabet, cutting the leaves with the Leaflets Framelits:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_4

Next, Elizabeth Giles combined Vintage Leaves with a thank you from One Big Meaning:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_8

Angela Waters used the negative space left from cutting out a Leaflet Framelit for her focal point, then added the cut out leaf to the bunch she gathered with Burlap Ribbon threads.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_2

She cut one from the Kraft Corrugated Paper for more texture, adding to the Early Espresso card stock leaf and the Crushed Curry Vintage Leaf stamped one. A strip of Farmer's Marker Designer Paper and greeting from A Dozen Thoughts round it all out!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_3

Anne Brown combined the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Folder with Bohemian Designer Washi Tape for her simple thank you. She softy sponged a Leaflets-cut leaf, tying with a bit of Gold Metallic Thread.

Stampin_up_leaflets_1
Melissa Roberts stamped the Soft Sky layer with the Brushstrokes Background, then cut a Whisper White Lots of Labels Framelit layer to stamp her Vintage Leaves with  Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive . A bit of Old Olive Baker's Twine and an Old Olive Candy Dot (on sale this week on the Weekly Deals!) frame the greeting from One Big Meaning.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_5

Finally, Karen Trelfa stamped her Vintage Leaves with Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, and Wild Wasabi, adding splotches from Gorgeous Grunge. I love how she stamped her greeting from Something to Say, then cut it with a Leaflets Framelit, tying with a bit of Wild Wasabi 1/2" Seam Binding!

Stampin’ Up! Lighthearted Leaves Again!

Stampin’ Up! Lighthearted Leaves Again!

Hey there! Just a quick post this morning. I'm at Liam & Darcy's house, babysitting while their mommy & daddy are at school and work. Pretty much all of my weekday mornings from now until the end of the school year will be spent this these adorable little ones. I will , of course, have weekends & school holidays "off", and most days I will be heading home a little after 1 p.m., so there will still be time to stamp! I'm so thankful I get to be their grammie!

Today I am sharing another card I made using the Lighthearted Leaves set for a swap I was in this past month. You can check out my first Lighthearted Leaves card HERE. Today's card I stamped the background layer with more images from the LIghthearted Leaves set using Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, and Delightful Dijon ink.

Stampin_up_lighthearted_leaves_1 - Copy

I used the same "emboss resist" technique to sponge color over the leaf image I cut out with the Leaflets Framelits Dies. Mossy Meadow 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon and a bit of thread from 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon complement the rustic fall look.

Stampin_up_lighthearted_leaves_2 - Copy

The greeting is cut with the banner framelit from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims die, and accented with a Cajun Craze Candy Dot.
