Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Pop-Thru Card!

Hey there! Here's another Pop-Thru card created with Dragonfly Dreams and Springtime Foils Specialty Sale-a-bration Level 1:

The "rose gold" foil in the Springtime Foils coordinate perfectly with Copper Foil Sheets. I cut the dragonflies with Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets and punched the "pop-thru" slot with the Classic Label Punch.

After heat embossing a copper greeting I cut it and the copper mat with a Petals & More Thinlet Die. To "stretch" the copper mat layer I snipped it in half before adhering.

Another copper embossed Dragonfly Dreams sentiment and a smaller dragonfly cut with another Detailed Dragonfly Thinlet.

I adhered a vellum dragonfly behind the detailed copper one with glue dots. I adhered it inside layer with more glue dots so it would "pop-thru" the Classic Label-punched slot.

I been requested to post a tutorial and/or video of the construction of the "pop-thru" card. I have one more card in the works I will be sharing soon. I plan to at least post a printable tutorial at that time.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Dragonflies, Jars of Love, and Beautiful You!

Hey there stamping friends! Today I have a couple more Dragonfly Dreams swaps to share with you, then a few made with Swirly Bird!

First, Carla Spradling combined Dragonfly Dreams with Christmas Pines and Jar of Love for her creative card!

Next, Rhonda Bassler sponged Bermuda Bay and Old Olive on a Detailed Dragonfly die cut, then created a background with Timeless Textures and the spotty Dragonfly Dreams image.

This lovely combo of Jar of Love, Dragonfly Dreams (sentiment) and Blooms & Bliss Designer Paper (retiring) is a swap I took a picture of from OnStage. The GOOD NEWS is both Dragonfly Dreams and Jar of Love will be in the New Catalog. The BAD NEWS: both will no longer be bundled with their matching framelits. You can only save the 10% of these through May 31st!

Finally a couple of swaps with the Beautiful You set. This is the set we will be using at my next class in just a couple of weeks!

Stampin’ Up! So Detailed Dragonfly!

Hey there stamping friends! My creation today was CASED from page 52 of the Occasions Catalog. Did you know it's perfectly o.k. to copy (CASE) the projects Stampin' Up! features in their catalogs? Did you know it's o.k. to CASE my projects ? IT IS!!!

Of course, everyone that CASES a project changes something a little bit. That's what I did today.

The So Detailed Thinlets I used to cut the glittery Blushing Bride "doors" are retiring. They are bundled with the So In Love stamps used for the "a day to celebrate" greeting, saving you 10%. So In Love and So Detailed Thinlets are only available while supplies last.

The Falling In Love Designer Series Paper used on this card is sold out, but easily substituted.

I used about 40 inches of Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon to wrap three times around the card for a rich, elegant look. This retiring ribbon is discounted from $6.00 to $3.60.

Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper, also retiring, is discounted from $5.00 to $3.00.

I cut a single Basic Black dragonfly for the front.

After untying the "doors" and lifting the front, I stamped the So In Love bloom with Blushing Bride. The greeting and dragonflies are from the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, which will only be discounted 10% through May 31st. Although not retiring, they won't be bundled for savings in the new catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Love Sparkles Dragonfly Dreams!

Hey there!

Today's card is the final one created for my Dragonfly Dreams class. I combined Love Sparkles (retiring) with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets.

I used a new-to-me technique, "ziploc watercolor"!

After white heat-embossing the images on Shimmery White, I put drops of Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and Elegant Eggplant reinker on a ziploc baggie, spritzed with water, laid a second baggie on top to "smoosh" the reinker, then lifted the baggie and laid a Shimmery White layer on top.

I stamped a Balloon Adventures (retiring) phrase with Basic Black Archival, inside.

A second inking with the same spritzed ziploc gave a different look!

Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer dragonfly was adhered with a tiny dimensional piece. The greeting is white heat embossed on a Basic Black banner.

I stamped a Sending Thoughts (retiring) phrase inside the second card.

Stampin’ Up! Love Sparkles Dragonfly Dreams!

Today's card is the final one created for my Dragonfly Dreams class. I combined Love Sparkles (retiring) with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets.

Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Dreams Petals!

Hey there stamping friends! My card today is a re-make of the card I shared with the FCCLA group back in February. Instead of You're Sublime, I took the left over card kits and created this card with Dragonfly Dreams and Suite Sayings!

The colors are still Emerald Envy, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, and Basic Black!

I painted the Basic Black Dragonfly with Clear Wink of Stella for some shine.

The Suite Sayings greeting is also stamped with the spots from Dragonfly Dreams and punched with the Decorative Label Punch which, sadly, is retiring.

I finished off the front with Emerald Envy sponging and Emerald Envy 3/8" Ruched Ribbon.

Inside I stamped another Suite Sayings phrase and more Tempting Turquoise spots.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop, April Edition, Carryover Stamps!

Hey there! It's time for the April Edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are using Carryover sets that will be in the new Annual Catalog, beginning June 1st, but you can still order them now too!

I decided to use Dragonfly Dreams for my hop project!

I combined embossing folder "stamping"and triple time stamping with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle. My card is inspired by Lavinia Gruizinga.

To "stamp" with an embossing folder: rub the raised side of the folder directly with your inkpads. Starting at the bottom of the folder, I applied Emerald Envy, Wild Wasabi, Bermuda Bay, and Tempting Turquoise. I then spritzed iberally with water before putting the Shimmery White layer directly on the inked surface and gently pressing and smoothing with my fingers. NOTE: this is an inky, messy technique, so you may want to wear protective gloves!

After holding the paper on the folder for a few extra seconds to allow the ink to absorb, remove and set aside to dry for several minutes or speed up the drying with a Heat Tool. You will know the paper is dry when it is flat again.

You can usually get two card fronts from each inking of the folder as long as you spritz again with water in between. No two fronts will ever look the same!

I white heat embossed the sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams. The Rhinestones are now retired and sold out, but don't worry, there will be a new configuration of Rhinestones and Pearls in the next catalog!

Inside I inked Stylized Birthday and the Awesomely Artistic dragonfly with the same colors using the Baby Wipe technique to ink the stamps.
