Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Hey there! I've had a GREAT weekend! Grandbabies here for Halloween, craft fair on Saturday, a party on Sunday afternoon. Throw in the time-change last night and I'm happy-but-exhausted!

Our first little trick-or-treater this year was Oakley the baby ghost! He was all bundled up warm as toast inside his cut-out pillowcase. His hat underneath helped hold out the eye holes:

Oakly Halloween 2014

Yes, he is a baby ghost with a pacifier!

Of course, if you really NEED to see better, all you have to do is move the holes around a bit:

Oakley, Liam (as Anakin Skywalker), and Jaxon (as Mickey Mouse):

Payne Clan Halloween 2014

The Hollis kids: Mickey Jaxon, Cavegirl Ava, and Minecraft Cohen!

Thanks for enduring my proud grandma moment. As a reward, here's today's swaps, all created  using the Wondrous Wreath Bundle:

Mary Ellen Byler created a lovely white-washed look with the Hardwood Background, faintly stamped on Smoky Slate. Love her non-traditional color combo of Pistachio Pudding, Mossy Meadow, and Blackberry Bliss:

Stampin_up_wondrouns_wreath_1

Not sure of this ones' creator, but it's perfect simplicity in Whisper White, Smok Slate and Silver heat embossing.

This is also a nameless beauty using Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack and Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details for the berries.

That's all for now. Check back tomorrow to see the cards in the November Online Christmas Card Class. To get the kit, just place a $35 order in my online store using this Hostess Code: VW4XC9RH With yucky weather and an uber-busy weekend I've not had a chance to photograph them. Will get that done pronto tomorrow and posted for you!

Stampin’Up! Gentle Peace Week Finale!

Stampin’Up! Gentle Peace Week Finale!

Hey there! Today is the last day of Gentle Peace Week, and I think I've saved the best one for last. Leave a comment today to let me know which one from this week was your favorite:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_cherry_cobbler_1 - Copy

I used the same technique of coloring the Memento Tuxedo Black-stamped image with our Blendabilities Alcohol Markers as the Blackberry Bliss sample I showed you a few days ago Here. Today I started with a Crushed Curry card base, layering on a Beautifully Barouque-embossed Basic Black layer. I colored with the Blendabilities, using the Cherry Cobbler Assortment for the stained-glass behind the Holy Family. I really like the sparkle the Iridescent Ice adds to this elegant card!

Stampin_up_gente_peace_cherry_cobbler_2 - Copy

Inside I couldn't resist adding Cherry Cobbler to the heart in the "God is Love" from the Trust God set.

That's it! The end of Gentle Peace Week. Which card was your favorite? Leave me a comment and I will randomly choose one name to receive their personal favorite Gentle Peace card free from me.

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blues and Golds!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blues and Golds!

Hey there! It's chilly, gray,  and dreary today. More like November than October. Time changes this weekend too. The year is winding down, isn't it?

Today I have TWO Gentle Peace cards for you:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_navy_1 - Copy

Night of Navy base, Soft Sky embossed with the Lucky Stars folder. A layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer cut with Stars Framelits. Same framelit to cut the white heat-embossed Gentle Peace image on Night of Navy. A few Rhinestones for extra sparkle.

Inside The Newborn King and Gentle Peace:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_navy_2 - Copy

I liked this design so well I created another in these colors:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_gold_1 - Copy

Basic Black base, Lucky Stars-embossed Brushed Gold, a Champagne Glimmer paper star, finishing up with a gold heat-embossed image on Cherry Cobbler. I colored a Rhinestone with my Gold Stampin' Dazzle marker to put in the center of the star.

Inside I continued the gold embossing with the star and phrase:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_gold_2 - Copy

That's all for now, but be sure to stop in to check out my final Gentle Peace card tomorrow!

Would you like to have the class handout for this Gentle Peace card from earlier this week?

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blackberry Bliss!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blackberry Bliss!

Hey there! For today's Gentle Peace Week sample I went the more traditional route, coloring the "stained glass" image with Blendabilities alcohol markers:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_1 - Copy

I embossed the background with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder. After stamping the stained glass image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with the Blendabilites (I always loved my crayons when I was little, these are just big girl crayons!) I patted the whole image with a Versamark pad, then heat-embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder. Just the right sparkle!

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_2 - Copy

To create the background for the "merry Christmas" from Petite Pairs, I stamped the circular star image from Gentle Peace with Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White, stamped the greeting with Memento ink, then washed over both images with the medium Daffodil Delight Blendability. I then punched with my Word Window Punch.

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_3 - Copy

I love how well the images in The Newborn King set coordinate with Gentle Peace. I went clean-and-simple with just Memento ink Tuxedo Black ink on the inside.

That's all for today! There's still two more days of Gentle Peace Week left, so come back again tomorrow for more!

Here's the supply list for today's card. You can place your order in my online store any time of the day or night: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Hardwood!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Hardwood!

Hey there! It's Wednesday already? Wow, time sure can fly! I created this card with the Gentle Peace set for a class coming up:

Stampin_up_Gentle_Peace_hardwood_1 - Copy

I wanted something clean-and-simple for the class since we don't have a lot of time on a week night, so I modified the card from yesterday to make it easier but still have the down-to-earth feel.

I simply stamped the main image with Early Espresso in on Naturals Ivory cardstock, cut it out with Paper Snips, then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.

I inked the Hardwood Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink to stamp on the Soft Suede layer.

After stamping the greeting with Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Naturals Ivory, I again used the banner framelit from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets to cut it out.

Before adding the greeting to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, I tied three strands pulled from an 8" piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon into a knot and adhered to the side of the card with a glue dot. The Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the banner allow it to be adhered over the knot.

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_hardwood_2 - Copy

Inside I stamped the main image from The Newborn King in the lower right corner with Crumb Cake ink and a greeting from the same set with Early Espresso.

Sponging the edges of the inside layer with Crumb Cake ink keeps the theme of the front in harmony with the inside.

That's all for now! Here's the supply list for today's project. Click on any image to find it in my online store or click on this link: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
