Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Year in Review!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Year in Review!

Hey there! It's the last day of 2017! How fast time flies whether you're having fun or not! I would have to say 2017 has been a good year for me, filled with lots of fun with family, a couple of great trips with my hubby for our 40th wedding anniversary, and of course, fun stamping! I reached my 15 year anniversary as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator this year too, and am happy to say that I feel like I am still growing in my stamping style as well as growing my business!

I thought today would be a good opportunity to share some of my favorite cards created in 2017. I'm going back all the way to January, so this post will be long!

To start off, here's a card I created in January using the Cool Treats set. I love that Stampin' Up keeps giving us fun images and coordinating dies to make cutting them out a breeze!

Note: the stamps and dies are still available to order, but the designer paper is not (sad face) See the supplies list at the bottom of this post for links to my online store for the supplies you can order!

Next is a card I've been enjoying sending every month of 2017 with our monthly share as members of Samaritan Ministries. It's fun to create flat cards sometimes. I tend to be a "lots of layers girl", so it's a fun challenge to create something flat and beautiful that will go through the mail without extra postage or fuss!

Here's the link to the Sheltering Tree card: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/02/stampin-up-sheltering-tree-for-samaritan-ministries.html

Note: I do not receive any compensation for the link provided to the Samaritan Ministries website. It is an organization I believe in, and if you are searching for an alternative to crippling health insurance premiums, check them out.

High Tide is a beautiful set that is so versatile: masculine, birthdays, sympathy, thinking of you, for anyone! I created this easel calendar in February 2017 and am happy to report that with the exception of the cording used, all is still in my store!

I loved the flat (mostly!) card I created for my mother-in-law's 89th birthday with the Big on Birthdays set. Here's the link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/03/stampin-up-big-on-birthdays-for-dolores.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d26f7fa6970c-450wi

I really enjoyed creating with the Flourishing Phrases and Timeless Textures sets for this card I posted in April. The embossing folder and the sparkly embellishment are retired, but the stamps are not! Here's the post link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/04/stampin-up-flourishing-phrases-kissing.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b7c8ec2026970b-450wi

Daisy Delight and the Daisy Punch were INSTANT HITS in the new Annual Catalog! Stampin' Up! has never sold so many of the same punch, EVER, and the punch spent many days on the backorder list. Happily, this set and punch are still available, separately and as a BUNDLE to save you 10%! Post link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/05/stampin-up-daisy-delight.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d27e1e96970c-450wi

Beautiful You is a set from last year's Occasions Catalog that carried over to the Annual. After reviewing this post and the ones after it, I need to get this set out and play again!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d28087b9970c-450wi

Did you know you can choose Host Sets as part of your Stampin' Rewards when you place an order of at least $150? You can! Tranquil Tulips is still available as a Host-Only set and uses only $10 of your Stampin' Rewards! I paired it on this card with the Label Me Pretty stamp set and Pretty Label Punch Bundle. Reviewing these cards are making me itch to play!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d284764f970c-450wi

I used the Birthday Memories Suite on pages 68-69 of the Annual Catalog to create this "Golden Book" card. The images and designs in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper are so reminiscent of my childhood! Here's the link to the blog post: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/06/stampin-up-birthday-delivery-little-golden-book.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b7c8ffae47970b-450wi

With Valentine's Day right around the corner it's always a good idea to be thinking about the stamps you already have that you can use for a valentine. Lots of Love is one of those stamp sets. Here's a card I made in June that I just might have to CASE for February 14! Check out the blog post here to see what I really mean!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d28e565c970c-450wi

Finally for today, a Christmas card I created back in June with the Annual Catalog set, Merry Mistletoe. Although Christmas was only last Monday, it's never too early to start your Christmas cards. Here's the link for the full post: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/06/stampin-up-merry-mistletoe.html

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post where I finish my "year in review"! As I'm scrolling through all of the posts here on my blog for the past year, there's just too many favorites not to share!

Use the December host code  ETH3RQQS to receive a thank you card (un-signed so YOU can send it to someone else!) and a little embellishment gift from me when you place your order in my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, so it's time to share some swaps! With the current catalog winding down, there's only one more Sunday after this one to share some of these!

Some of these are swaps I have and some are swaps I took pictures of at OnStage, so some I don't have any creator's names.

First, Susan Vilar used Garden in Bloom with Dapper Denim, Old Olive, and Watermelon Wonder to create a fresh look!

Stampin_up_garden_in_bloom_carolpaynestamps1

Next, the creator of this card used Wild about Flowers with Old Olive and Calypso Coral. The Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions folder and Layering Ovals Framelits give depth and texture.

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers_feather_together_carolpaynestamps1

The creator of this card CASED a sample from the Occasions catalog using the Lift Me Up Bundle. These stamps and framelits WILL be carrying over to the new catalog, but they WON'T be bundled any longer. To save 10%, be sure to order the bundle in wood-mount or clear-mount by May 31st!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps

Speaking of the Retiring List, Yummy in My Tummy is on it! Kathy Morgan created a fun shaker card, adding in a Balloon Adventures greeting, which is also on the Hit List!

Stampin_up_yummy_in_my_tummy_carolpaynestamps

This card by Sandy Carlson features By the Shore Designer Paper that IS retiring, but the Seaside Shore stamp set is NOT.

Cathy Miller created a fun z-fold card with the No Bones About It set. The Boho Chic Textured Impressions folder she used on the Soft Sky layer  and Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twind ARE retiring.

Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats Gift Card Holder Card!

Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats Gift Card Holder Card!

Hey there! Inspired by Dawn Griffith to make a pop-up gift card holder card!

Stampinupcooltreatsgiftcardholdercarolpaynestamps1

The treats look yummy!

Stampinupcooltreatsgiftcardholdercarolpaynestamps2

I added cone sparkle with Fine Tip Glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Fine Tip Glue on the scooped treat is a thinner version of old Crystal Effects, but dries quicker and gives the same raised," slick" look!

Stampinupcooltreatsgiftcardholdercarolpaynestamps7

We used two 5" x 5" Playful Palette Designer pieces for the gift card holder. Designer paper is less bulky. A Tasty Trucks van, hand-cut with Paper Snips, and Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape make perfect inside touches!

We used 1 3/4" and 2" Circle Punches for the peekaboo openings. The key to the proper alignment of these circles is to start by punching the middle circle FIRST, then using it as the guide to punch the front circle.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Cool Treats!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Cool Treats!

Hey there! Here's another card from the Cool Treats class!

Stampin up celebrations duo carol payne stamps1

Tasty Treats Specialty base layer, embossed  Whisper White "HAPPY" with a Celebrations Duo folder.

Stampin up celebrations duo carol payne stamps2

Stamped-off Watermelon Wonder on Whisper White, a stamped-off Crumb Cake stick and full-strength Watermelon Wonder highlights, cut with a Frozen Treats Framelit.

Stampin up celebrations duo carol payne stamps3

A Peekaboo Peach popsicle and Sprinkles embellishments added with a tiny bit of Fine Tip Glue, placing the sequins using a"tacky toothpick"!

To make a "tacky toothpick":

Stick the toothpick into something to hold it upright while drying. I used a piece of Clear Block Storage Caddy foam.

Put a small blob of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the toothpick. Air-dry to "tacky" for a few hours.

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_1

Use the tacky toothpick to pick up small pieces of card stock or sequins, like the Sprinkles Embellishments, for easy, precise placement!

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_2

Store tacky toothpicks where they won't stick to other supplies.

We used a phrase from Happy Celebrations, and added a strip of Tasty Treats Washi Tape.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Cool Treats!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Cool Treats!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing swaps using the Cool Treats Bundle!

First, Tamie Ackerson used a Peekaboo Peach card base, adding Carried Away Designer Paper and the Cool Treats set:

Stampinupcooltreatscarolpaynestamps3

This card is perfectly Peekaboo Peach!

Stampinupcooltreatscarolpaynestamps4

Next, Linda Pagel stamped Watermelon Wonder on Pool Party for some pop!

Stampinupcooltreatscarolpaynestamps1

I LOVE  the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Paper!

Stampinupcooltreatscarolpaynestamps2

This card  you probably recognize from my Cool Treats group of cards posted a couple of days ago. I loved Laura Milligan's Cool Treats card so much I CASED it exactly for my class!

Stampin_up_cool_treats_carolpaynestamps1

The corners were rounded with the Envelope Punch Board, and two Tasty Treats Specialty prints were combined.

Stampin_up_cool_treats_carolpaynestamps2

The cherry is cut with a Frozen Treats Framelit. Actually TWO cherries were cut, one Watermelon Wonder and one Early Espresso. The stem of the Watermelon Wonder one was snipped off and the cherry end was glued to the Early Espresso cherry, then added to the top of the fudge topping.

Stampin_up_cool_treats_carolpaynestamps3

With a sentiment like this one, only a stamped cherry is needed!
