Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Baby Shower Card for Sheila!

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Baby Shower Card for Sheila!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing a special baby shower card. Sheila's my oldest daughter, Jessica's, bestie since they were babies. Both now 40, Sheila is having her very first baby in December. We are over the moon happy for her and her sweet hubby, David!

Honored to be asked to create an "Adventure Awaits" banner for the event,  I'm waiting for pictures as I didn't feel my camera could do it justice. But I can share the card I created that coordinates with the banner:

Stampin_up_beautiful_bouquet_carolpaynestamps1

I used the Up & Away Thinlets Dies to create the hot-air balloon. The map paper background is a retired Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. I keep almost all of my retired stuff. Although it takes up a lot of storage room, it comes in handy when a custom project like this comes along!

Stampin_up_beautiful_bouquet_carolpaynestamps2

I cut the intricate balloon outline from Basic Black card stock, then used more of the thinlets to cut the panels behind it from Coastal Cabana, Blushing Bride, and Mint Macaron.

Stampin_up_beautiful_bouquet_carolpaynestamps3

I used "Congratualtions" from the Beautiful Bouquet set to stamp in black ink.

Stampin_up_beautiful_bouquet_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used a sentiment from Hold on To Hope:

Stampin_up_hold_on_to_hope_carolpaynestamps1

I inked the mini-balloon from Lift Me Up with Coastal Cabana, Blushing Bride, and Mint Macaron Stampin' Write Markers. After cutting out with an Up & Away Thinlet, I adhered with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps1

Lest you think I am a perfect stamper who never makes a mistake, here's what I discovered after I adhered the banner to the card front. Can you see what's wrong with this card? Fortunately it was easily fixed!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, so it's time to share some swaps! With the current catalog winding down, there's only one more Sunday after this one to share some of these!

Some of these are swaps I have and some are swaps I took pictures of at OnStage, so some I don't have any creator's names.

First, Susan Vilar used Garden in Bloom with Dapper Denim, Old Olive, and Watermelon Wonder to create a fresh look!

Stampin_up_garden_in_bloom_carolpaynestamps1

Next, the creator of this card used Wild about Flowers with Old Olive and Calypso Coral. The Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions folder and Layering Ovals Framelits give depth and texture.

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers_feather_together_carolpaynestamps1

The creator of this card CASED a sample from the Occasions catalog using the Lift Me Up Bundle. These stamps and framelits WILL be carrying over to the new catalog, but they WON'T be bundled any longer. To save 10%, be sure to order the bundle in wood-mount or clear-mount by May 31st!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps

Speaking of the Retiring List, Yummy in My Tummy is on it! Kathy Morgan created a fun shaker card, adding in a Balloon Adventures greeting, which is also on the Hit List!

Stampin_up_yummy_in_my_tummy_carolpaynestamps

This card by Sandy Carlson features By the Shore Designer Paper that IS retiring, but the Seaside Shore stamp set is NOT.

Stampin_up_seaside_shore_carolpaynestamps

Cathy Miller created a fun z-fold card with the No Bones About It set. The Boho Chic Textured Impressions folder she used on the Soft Sky layer  and Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twind ARE retiring.

Finally,  Dena Tarkowski combined the carry over sets, Swirly Bird and Cool Treats for a bright and happy card!

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Inlaid Embossing!

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Inlaid Embossing!

Hey there! Today I have another card created with the Lift Me Up Bundle. I love this color combo of Basic Black, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps1

I used the "Inlaid Embossing" technique for the clouds and sky. This simple technique gives the look of the cloud and the sky being all one piece. To achieve this look, I cut out the cloud with the die, adhered to the Soft Sky layer, then embossed all together with the Seaside Textured Impressions folder. The lines of this folder look like wind currents!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps4

I added a tiny Linen Thread bow above the Crumb Cake gondola.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps3

White heat embossing helps the greeting to stand out.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps5

I love it when I can do the whole card with one set!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Lift Me Up!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Lift Me Up!

Hey there! It's Sunday, which means it's time to share some swaps! I went through my recent swaps and realized I have a great group all created with the Lift Me Up Bundle. Since my February Online Ordering Rewards cards also use this bundle, I decided now would be the best time to share all of this inspiration  with you!

First, Kim Allen combined Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, and Dapper Denim with Soft Sky, Whisper White, and a strip of Gold Glimmer for her "Just a Note" creation:

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Jan Rodiran combined Cucumber Crush, Basic Black, and Whisper White for her eye-catching card. The wide black and white striped DSP is from the Pop of Pink Specialty!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_cucumber_crush_carolpaynestamps1

Cathy Miller used Peekaboo Peach, Night of Navy, Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, and Whisper White for her multi-fold creation:

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_peekaboo_peach_carolpaynestamps2

She combined stamping and die-cutting for a wonderful look!

Final fold opens:

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_peekaboo_peach_carolpaynestamps4

Kelly Acheson made the Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper the centerpiece of her Flap Fold Pop Up Card by using more than one print. The bow was tied with free Sale-a-bration Ribbon too!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_pop_up_carolpaynestamps1

This card would be perfect to add a gift card!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_pop_up_carolpaynestamps3

Finally, Kathy Johnson created a happy side-easel card with stamped clouds and cut-out balloons.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_side_easel_carolpaynestamps1

She borrowed  "sent with love" from Sealed with Love to mount on the punched easel-stop, and added a couple of Owl Builder Punch hearts.

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Easel!

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Easel!

Hey there! Today card is #3 for the February Online Rewards Program!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps1

For the "basic" card I cut one Perfect Plum balloon, adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps2

I cut the clouds from Whisper White with Up & Away Thinlets.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps3

I omitted "congratulations" below "you soar above the rest" by putting a piece of tape over it before inking with Perfect Plum. After removing the tape I stamped and  punched with the Classic Label.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps4

Perfect Plum is so pretty with the Carried Away Designer paper Mint Macaron print!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps5

To step this card up I cut three balloons!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps6

I folded two balloons in half, glued one side to each other, and gluing the remaining sides to a flat balloon.

Easel 8

I cut clouds from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer for sparkle.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps7

I also added Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer behind the greeting . . .

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps8

and behind the easel-stop created with the Decorative Label.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_easel_carolpaynestamps9

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Note!

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Note!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing the second card in the February Online Rewards Program using the Lift Me Up Bundle and Carried Away Designer Series Paper!

The "basic" card is on the left, "stepped-up" is on the right.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps1

The basic card uses a simple masking technique to achieve the look of depth for the cloud "behind" the Cucumber Crush-stamped balloon.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps3

Masking also used inside:

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps4

I'm really loving this color combo: Cucumber Crush, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White. Smoky Slate tones down the BRIGHTNESS of Cucumber Crush!

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps5

This little "love note" was stamped with Smoky Slate and cut with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps6

I colored over the tiny Smoky Slate heart with a Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps7

A Silver 5/8" Satin Ribbon bow coordinates with Smoky Slate.

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_love_note_carolpaynestamps8

It's hard to photograph, but I painted the balloon with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add some shimmer.
