Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Year in Review!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Year in Review!

Hey there! It's the last day of 2017! How fast time flies whether you're having fun or not! I would have to say 2017 has been a good year for me, filled with lots of fun with family, a couple of great trips with my hubby for our 40th wedding anniversary, and of course, fun stamping! I reached my 15 year anniversary as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator this year too, and am happy to say that I feel like I am still growing in my stamping style as well as growing my business!

I thought today would be a good opportunity to share some of my favorite cards created in 2017. I'm going back all the way to January, so this post will be long!

To start off, here's a card I created in January using the Cool Treats set. I love that Stampin' Up keeps giving us fun images and coordinating dies to make cutting them out a breeze!

Note: the stamps and dies are still available to order, but the designer paper is not (sad face) See the supplies list at the bottom of this post for links to my online store for the supplies you can order!

Next is a card I've been enjoying sending every month of 2017 with our monthly share as members of Samaritan Ministries. It's fun to create flat cards sometimes. I tend to be a "lots of layers girl", so it's a fun challenge to create something flat and beautiful that will go through the mail without extra postage or fuss!

Note: I do not receive any compensation for the link provided to the Samaritan Ministries website. It is an organization I believe in, and if you are searching for an alternative to crippling health insurance premiums, check them out.

High Tide is a beautiful set that is so versatile: masculine, birthdays, sympathy, thinking of you, for anyone! I created this easel calendar in February 2017 and am happy to report that with the exception of the cording used, all is still in my store!

I loved the flat (mostly!) card I created for my mother-in-law's 89th birthday with the Big on Birthdays set. Here's the link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/03/stampin-up-big-on-birthdays-for-dolores.html

I really enjoyed creating with the Flourishing Phrases and Timeless Textures sets for this card I posted in April. The embossing folder and the sparkly embellishment are retired, but the stamps are not! Here's the post link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/04/stampin-up-flourishing-phrases-kissing.html

Daisy Delight and the Daisy Punch were INSTANT HITS in the new Annual Catalog! Stampin' Up! has never sold so many of the same punch, EVER, and the punch spent many days on the backorder list. Happily, this set and punch are still available, separately and as a BUNDLE to save you 10%! Post link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/05/stampin-up-daisy-delight.html

Beautiful You is a set from last year's Occasions Catalog that carried over to the Annual. After reviewing this post and the ones after it, I need to get this set out and play again!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d28087b9970c-450wi

Did you know you can choose Host Sets as part of your Stampin' Rewards when you place an order of at least $150? You can! Tranquil Tulips is still available as a Host-Only set and uses only $10 of your Stampin' Rewards! I paired it on this card with the Label Me Pretty stamp set and Pretty Label Punch Bundle. Reviewing these cards are making me itch to play!

I used the Birthday Memories Suite on pages 68-69 of the Annual Catalog to create this "Golden Book" card. The images and designs in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper are so reminiscent of my childhood! With Valentine's Day right around the corner it's always a good idea to be thinking about the stamps you already have that you can use for a valentine. Lots of Love is one of those stamp sets. Here's a card I made in June that I just might have to CASE for February 14! Check out the blog post here to see what I really mean!

Finally for today, a Christmas card I created back in June with the Annual Catalog set, Merry Mistletoe. Although Christmas was only last Monday, it's never too early to start your Christmas cards. Stampin’ Up! Hosts Rewards Stamp Set Blog Hop!

Stampin’ Up! Hosts Rewards Stamp Set Blog Hop!

Host_blog_tour_carolpaynestamps1

Hey there! Welcome to the "We (heart) Hosts blog hop! Everyone's projects are created using Host Reward Stamps from the new catalog, so you're in for some real treats!

For my card I used THREE Host Reward Stamp sets: In the City, Tranquil Tulips, and You're Delightful. I used a piece of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper as my background on a Tranquil Tide card base:

Stampin_up_tranquil_tulips_carolpaynestamps2

I cut out a vellum layer with a Lots of Labels Framelit, then embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder. I accented the embossing by rubbing inside the leaves and stems with my Simply Scored Stylus. I stamped the lower tulip layer with Sweet Sugarplum ink, then stamped the top layer with Berry Burst; and yes, I did cut them both out with Paper Snips to layer together and add to the Whisper White oval with dimesnionals. I stamped the stems and leaves with Ranquil Tide ink, cutting out the leaves and adding them with liquid glue.

Stampin_up_tranquil_tulips_carolpaynestamps3

We have new sequins in the catalog, MINI sequin trims! Available in black, gold, and silver, I pulled a few black ones from the string, adhering with a tiny drop  of Fine Tip Glue.

Stampin_up_tranquil_tulips_carolpaynestamps5

I stamped the greeting from In the City with Tranquil Tide ink on vellum, then punched with the Classic Label. I applied a thin coat of liquid glue so the adhesive wouldn't show through the vellum.

Stampin_up_tranquil_tulips_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used a sentiment from the You're Delightful Host set. and stamped the tulips directly on the layer.

Now it's time to continue on the hop to see all of the other inspiring creations! You know you're going to want to have a party so you can get some of these sets for free!

Here's the one caveat with these great Host sets: you have to either host a stamping party, catalog party, or place an order of your own of at least $150 to be able to "spend" you host reward credit on a Host set. But hey, I'm sure that really won't be a problem with all of the lovely new things in this catalog! Contact me if you would like to host an in-person party or catalog party. Stampin’ Up! Tranquil Tuilps!

Stampin’ Up! Tranquil Tuilps!

Hey there! One of the awesome perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is to get to order new products early, even host sets that you can only get by having a stamping party! All of the new Host sets are pretty much ones you can't-live-without, but my fav of the one's coming in the new catty is the set I used for today's card, Tranquil Tulips!

Stampin_up_tranquil_tulips_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped these pretty Berry Burst blooms on a layer of Whisper White, layered on new In Color Berry Burst, layered on a Whisper White Notecard. I stamped the stems and leaves with new In Color Tranquil Tide.

These blooms are two-step, which means there are two separate images for each flower. To stamp the larger, lighter portion of the bloom, "stamp-off" on scratch paper after you have inked the stamp but before you stamp on the paper. The leaves and stems are Tranquil Tide.

Carol's Stamping Tip: Stamp the three-stemmed set of stems first, then the blooms. It helps to stamp the two-step bloom when you can see the top of the stem. Stamp the leaves  last.

NOTE: Tranquil Tulips images are intended to look faded to give them a vintage feel. This makes it easier to stamp because they aren't perfect on purpose!

Stampin_up_tranquil_tulips_carolpaynestamps4

I stamped the greeting a frame using the Label Me Pretty Bundle, which includes the Pretty Label Punch. Berry Burst 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon is the finishing touch!

Just Add Text provided the inside sentiment.

Until then, there's still lots of retiring products available to order from my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps
