Stampin’ Up! Best of Butterflies in Flight!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Butterflies in Flight!

Good morning! Happy 4th of July! Hope you have something fun on your agenda for today, and I hope you take time to be thankful for the freedom and liberty we all enjoy but take for granted!

Today's card uses a technique I've been  admiring for awhile but hadn't tried yet, and I'm not sure what its' official name is, but for this one I'm calling it "butterflies in flight"!

I stamped this butterfly from the Best of Butterflies stamp set in Jet Black StazOn all along the edge of this Whisper White Notecard. I added the colors of Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Wisteria Wonder to the butterflies with a Sponge Dauber, then used my Paper Snips to cut out the edges of the notecard and partially around the butterflies to give the allusion of the butterflies "fluttering" off the page!

Butterfly hi 1

I stamped the "hi" from Regarding Dahlias, then added a butterfly for the dot in the "i" that was stamped with a Papillon Potpourri butterfly, and punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I added a Basic Black grounding layer to the back of the notecard just to give it a little more pop and substance since Whisper White cardstock is a bit thin as a card base. I finished off the butterflies with small Basic Jewel Pearls.

Butterfly hi 2
The inside layer has a Wisteria Wonder panel that has been embossed with the Modern Mosaic folder, and the greeting is from the 25th Anniversary set, Best of Greetings.

That's all for now. We are planning to have a get-together with some of Mark's family this evening. We missed the local fireworks because they were last Saturday out at the lake. I never have understood having fireworks early instead of ON the weekend the 4th is closest to, but they don't ask my opinion, so there you go.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Teapot!

Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Teapot!

Good morning! I hope you are warm and dry today! I'm hoping for some drier (and a bit warmer) weather for awhile, we've had four straight days of rain around here and we are soaked!

Today I want to share a project that was demonstrated by Colleen Magness at the Demonstrator Share in Fiji, an adorable teapot made with Gingham Garden Designer Paper and the Oval Accents Die!

Gingham garden teapot
Isn't this just the MOST ADORABLE thing? I've put a teabag in it and added an Artisan Label-punched tag from the Label Love set, but a gift card would fit in here too!

We are making this little lovey at my SWOW Class on Friday and Saturday NEXT WEEK (the 12th & 13th) along with two more fun projects! RSVP to let me know you are coming, please!

That's all for now! I'm off to run some errands today, then I get to transport Maddie Kate to her Tumbling lesson this evening!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! (and dry!) day!

Stampin’ Up! Almost Home From Fiji! Did you know I now work at the airport?

Stampin’ Up! Almost Home From Fiji! Did you know I now work at the airport?

We've been virtually LIVING in airports for the past two days! Eating, sleeping, waiting, over and over. I am starting to feel WAY too at home here! I'm posting this morning from the waiting area at the D2 Terminal at the Cleveland, OH airport, but I want to share a story from yesterday at LAX.
Going home 4
No, I don't really work at the LAX airport, I'm just using the electrical outlet at this kiosk after the employee went home. It was located immediately next to our waiting area, so it was easy to just power up while doing a little sorting of my Fiji pics. What's really funny is that people started stopping as they were getting off flights and were asking me for information! REALLY? I'm wearing capris and a hoodie! Do I REALLY look like I work here? SERIOUSLY?????

I just kept on saying, "No, I'm sorry, I don't work here", to everyone who stopped by until suddenly this little woman from Peru came up and starting asking me in Spanish-Portugese-whatever-they speak in Peru about her flight. Well, I COULDN'T make her understand that I didn't work there, so when she waved her ticket at me, off we went to check the flight board. Turned out her terminal was right beside where we were so I directed her there. We were both SO HAPPY, she started saying "gracias" and patting my arm, so I started to give her a quick hug and she kissed my cheek! WOW! She really made my day! I don't remember her name, but I won't forget her anytime soon! Small miracles while you wait at the airport, huh?

It's almost time to board our FINAL flight to St. Louis, so I will close with this gorgeous card I received in the "Swap with Me!" sponsored by Stampin' Up! while in Fiji:

Stippled Oh Hello
All supplies are©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

This swap was created by Vicky Kahlandt, a lovely new demo friend from Utah with a lovely English Accent! Vicky combined Stippled Blossoms with Oh Hello and Tea for Two Designer Paper from the Occasions Catalog.  She cut the ovals with the Ovals Collection Framelits, easy peasy! Both stamp sets will be in the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog beginning May 31, but the Tea for Two Designer Paper will NOT, so better grab some before it's gone!

Stampin’Up! Fiji Rest & Relaxation!

Stampin’Up! Fiji Rest & Relaxation!

Hi all, just short to let you know we are still safe & sound here in Fiji. Did a fun Navua River Rafting Trip yesterday (LOOOOOOONG bus ride there & back-three hours each way!) Then today we had a relaxing day at the beach, a catamaran sail, and a banana boat ride! We are a little burnt, but tired & happy!

Since our internet time is so limited, I've got to run, so until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
