Stampin’ Up! Backyard Basics Butterfly Flower Card!

Stampin’ Up! Backyard Basics Butterfly Flower Card!

Hey there! It's a rainy, dreary day here, so I decided to share my bright and happy Backyard Basics Butterfly flower card with you today:

Stampin_up_backyard_basics_1 - Copy

I think this card would brighten up just about any day!

I used the "faux silk" technique on the butterfly again, just like I did on my previous Backyard Basics card HERE. I used Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Stampin' Write markers on my stamp before stamping on my tissue paper, then covered my scrap of Whisper White cardstock completely with an Anywhere Glue Stick. After crumpling and re-opening the stamped tissue, I gently smoothed it over the glue, leaving a few creases and bumps to help give it that "slubbed silk" look. (Kimberly's wedding dress was slubbed sik, so I know what that is supposed to look like!) I perfectly "cut" the butterfly with the coordinating Backyard Basics Framelit.

I cut the Daffodil Delight card base and the Tangerine Tango layer with Floral Frames Framelits, then embossed them with the Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Folder.

A phrase from Petite Pairs, punched with the Word Window and bracketed with a couple of Brights Candy Dots invite you to open this card:

Inside I repeated the layer shape, this time with Whisper White, stamping the coordinating phrase from Petite Pairs and a couple more butterflies!

I finished my ensemble by stamping another butterfly on my Whisper White envelope and lining it with a bit of Daffodil Delight Designer Paper cut with one of the Envelope Liner Framelits.

That's all for now, but tomorrow is the 15th, so be sure to come back to take the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! Our group's theme is "Congratualtions!", so be ready to be WOW'd with some great ideas!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Baby We’ve Grown Goes Retro!

Stampin’Up! Baby We’ve Grown Goes Retro!

Hey there. Things are starting to thaw out around here, but I'm still sticking pretty close to home!

Today I have the final card in my "Baby We've Grown" series. This time I used the little owl family stamp, Retro Fresh Designer Paper, Label Collection Framelits, and the Painter's Tape Technique:

I used the fun-fold technique for my card base. You can download the directions for the fun-fold by going to this post HERE.

This card fold always needs a slightly-larger than normal envelope, so I made my own with my Envelope Punch Board.

I took the colors for the Painter's Tape Technique from the Retro Fresh Designer Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, and Coastal Cabana. I masked off the "baby we've grown" words below the owls with another piece of painter's tape, inked up the owls, then removed the tape before stamping them without the words. The "welcome baby" words are from Petite Pairs.

I added Tempting Turquoise and  Tangerine Tango Candy Dots to pull a bit more of the colors into the greeting. Candy Dots area MUST HAVE for your cards! They come in all four color families and there are 10 of each of the 10 colors in each family. At $5.95 for 100 total, they are a great value and add so much to a card!

On the backside I inked up just the baby owl and used the corresponding sentiment from Petite Pairs.

This is the last card in my "Baby, We've Grown" triad. I will be back tomorrow with the first of two lattice cards made with the Chevron Border Punch, so please stop by!

Stampin’ Up! Wonderful Wreath with Baby Wipes!

Stampin’ Up! Wonderful Wreath with Baby Wipes!

I had a good day of playing with my stamps on Wednesday. Mainly I worked on projects for my classes this weekend (which I still have some room in the Saturday classes from 1-6, by the way), but after playing with the Wonderful Wreath stamp for a Christmas Card I decided to back up a bit and use this stamp for a fall card too:

Fall wonderful wreath

I used the Baby Wipe Technique to ink the stamp with Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive! I used the Beautiful Baroque Textured Impressions folder on the Cajun Craze layer. Before attaching the Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding bow with a Glue Dot I moistened the ends of the ribbon and crumpled them with my fingers. The greeting, "thanks is for giving" is from Seasonal Sayings. I cut it out with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. After matting the greeting with an Early Espresso label the same size but cut in half to "stretch" it, I added a Cherry Cobbler Candy Dot to each side of the "thanks".

Wonderful wreath 2
Inside the card I inked the Wonderful Wreath stamp with the Baby Wipe pad to stamp the wreath again. I stamped a phrase from Field Flowers inside the wreath.

This card will be one of the 6 cards we will be making at my "Falling Into Fall" Card Class on Friday, October 18th from 1-9 p.m. Class fee is a low $10 to make all 6 cards with envelopes. Class is free with a $25 order.

Online Order Option: You will receive the 6 completed cards via SNAIL mail when you place your order of at least $25 in my Online Store using this Hostess Code: 2A3JZMXZ Your order must be submitted by Midnight, October 18, 2013 to qualify.

That's all for now! Thanks so much for stopping in today! Unti tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Cards From Friends!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Cards From Friends!

Good morning! Instead of my usual "Sunday Swap Day", I have a small collection of cards I have recently received from stamping friends/customers to share with you today. Let's get started!

Angie lisk

From Angie Lisk. I love the multiple pennants Angie cut and layered on this card. Pretty much all of the supplies are retired (Angie is a faithful customer!), with the exception of the three Candy Dots in the upper left. Candy Dots are a colorful way to add the look of brad without the holes to pierce or the bulk of the brad legs! Similar to Pearl or Rhinestone Basic Jewels, they are self-adhesive!

Becky anderson

From Becky Anderson. Becky's cards are always so calm and peaceful. She is a dear friend I do not get to see often enough!

Crystal lopez

From Crystal Lopez. Crystal is another faithful stamping friend. She used the current Stippled Blossoms and the "hello" from My Friend. Her color combo is Pool Party, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Wisteria Wonder, and Rich Razzleberry. I love the splotches of color she created with reinker and a water mister! Crystal is a true color artist.

Meg wheeler
Last but not least, Meg Wheeler, my dear fellow demonstrator friend, created this lovely card. Meg used a bit of retired Sale-a-bration paper, then paired it with Papillon Potpourri stamps and the Bitty Butterfly punch (on sale this month!), as well as Ovals Collection Framelits. The "hey there friend" greeting is from the My Paper Pumpkin first monthly kit you receive when you subscribe, so it's still available!

That's all for now! Of course it's Sunday, and there will be lots of family here for lunch after church so I need to fly!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
