Stampin’ Up! Friendly Wishes for Zach!

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Wishes for Zach!

Hey there! The blog hop yesterday was awesome! If you haven't hopped through our Christmas in July hop, go back to yesterday's post and start hoppin'! You'll be glad you did!

I made today's card for my granddaughter's boyfriend, Zach . . . . . . . . . .

You heard that right.

Maddie Kate has a boyfriend? How did this happen?

She's fourteen. He's now 16. They don't car date, they group date and date with either his family or hers. I started dating my husband when I was 14, so now I might be starting to feel a "little" old.

He is also an exceptionally thoughtful,  caring, God-loving, tall, handsome young man. I couldn't attend his party, but I sent this:

I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet Die again. Are you shocked?

I made a gift card holder for the insert. You can't have a self-respecting birthday card without a little money it!

Stampin_up_friendly_wishes_2 - Copy

To give the greeting a baseball look,  I used the Updated Essentials Paper-Piercing Template, Paper-Piercing Tool, and Stampin' Pierce Mat to pierce the double-curved lines, adding "stitching" with a Real Red marker.

For the insert "pull" I stamped a mini-birthday cake!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! We had a blast at my Birthday Card Buffet this weekend! I will be sharing more of those cards with you over the next few days!

Today is Sunday Swap Day, and so let's get started!

First, Nancy Hall created her card with the "Build a Birthday" set and Bohemian Designer Series Paper. She cut the cake layers from the DSP instead of stamping them. Even though this photopolymer set is easy to line up, it's even EASIER to line up strips of paper. You can't tell from the picture, but Nancy covered the candle flame with Crystal Effects for dimension and gloss!

Stampin_up_build_a birthday_1

The Bohemian paper IS gorgeous! Nancy used several of the coordinating designs:

Stampin_up_build_a_birthday_2

This set even has a little banner flags stamp, perfect for an extra inside image or to make the envelope coordinating and festive!

Stampin_up_build_a_birthday_3

Next, Raedean Shibata excellent design combines with colors that pack a lot of punch! Raedean also used the Build a Birthday set, turning the cake layers into birthday candles with a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter for sparkle!

Stampin_up_build_a_birthday_4

Beverlee Morales chose "You've Got This" for her creation. She combined Crumb Cake,  Woodgrain embossing folder, Decorative Label punch, Deco Labels Framelits, and Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim:

Stampin_up_you've_got_this_2

Lorraine Duran also chose "You've Got This" and the Decorative Label Punch, using Delightful Dijon, Oval Collection Framelits, and the "birthday wishes" greeting from Build a Birthday.

Finally, Katy Simecka used soft water coloring, adding layers of Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe 1" Lace Trim for an exquisitely feminine look:

Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride Build a Birthday Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride Build a Birthday Sneak Peek!

Hey there! Last night was Maddie Kate's 8th grade graduation:

10985930_10153019294556374_2147287631585618856_n

As the class stood for the ending processional, she leaned out to give us her great smile!

Maddie ranked 3rd in her class, which was just where she wanted to be. Let the Valedictorian and Salutatorian make the speeches, thank you!

We love you Maddie Kate, to the moon and back, with full hearts and lots of prayers for you!

After graduation we celebrated both her birthday and graduation with a little party. Today's card I is NOT her birthday card. I will be posting that card and a graduation one next week.

I played with the new Build a Birthday set again with the color combo Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Early Espresso, and new Tip Top Taupe!

I used the sprinkles and a tiny flower stamp from the new Ronald McDonald House set, Sprinkles of Life! Stampin' Up! donates $3 from every set sold to Ronald McDonald Charities. Don't miss this adorable set on the inside back cover of the new catalog!

Stampin_up_build_a_birthday_2 - Copy

For candle flames I used Heat & Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter:

Stampin’ Up! Build a Birthday Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Build a Birthday Sneak Peek!

Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by for the next installment of New Catalog Sneak Peek Week! Today I am sharing a card we will be making at my June Birthday Card Buffet in a few weeks using the Build a Birthday set, new 2015-2016 In Colors, and Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack:

Stampin_up_build_a_birthday_4 - Copy

The new In Colors are so fresh and yummy! This set is photopolymer, so it’s easy to accurately stamp the cake layers, then turn the stamps vertical to stamp the candles on the envelope! The flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack is perfectly proportioned for the cake. I punched one blossom from Cucumber Crush card stock, cutting in half to make the “leaves” behind the blooms.

Stampin_up_build_a_birthday_5 - Copy

Inside I added more candles, then stamped the same sentiment from yesterday’s card with the Friendly Wishes set using Watermelon Wonder ink.

I love to line my envelopes with designer series paper every chance I get! I always seem to have more designer paper than I can use up (did I just SAY that?!) so using  the Envelope Liner Thinlet dies lets me get a custom look for the card/envelope ensemble.

Most of the supplies for this card that are listed below will be available when the new catalog goes live next Tuesday, June 2nd:
