Stampin’ Up! Heart Punches to the Rescue!

Stampin’ Up! Heart Punches to the Rescue!

Before we get started today, I want to show you what was in my living room last night:

Swody boy 1

Did you guess????

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In July we will greet our 4th grandson! We are so excited!!!!!

No name yet, but I'll keep you posted when one is decided!

Before we had the big reveal, Jessica brought the grandkids to my house so we could get their valentines  made. Remember I showed them to you a few days ago.

I also gave them all their Valentine gifts from me yesterday. I won't be seeing them on Valentine's Day, and the gifts for Maddie Kate and Ava were valentine-themed cooking kits, so I got them wrapped and ready for them to open while they were at my house.

After I gathered everything together, I realized I had NO VALENTINE WRAPPING PAPER (GASP!) but it only took me a half a second to realize that I HAVE PUNCHES, so nothing to worry about!

Here's what I did for the girls' gifts:

Gifts 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, some Tea Lace Doilies, and the Big Shot Alphabet from the Stampin' Up! catalog! Voila!

For the boys:

Gifts 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Heart Framelits and the same alphabet again!

And finally, my gift for baby Swody (our name for Alisa's baby right now, a combo of "Sweed", (Alisa's nickname), and Cody:

Gifts 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I was trying to be gender-neutral because when I wrapped it we didn't know he was a boy yet! A little girly-looking, but I used the blue gingham side of the pink gingham wrapping paper I used for the girls to tone it down!

That's all for today! I will leave you with one more picture from last night. When we received the news that Alisa & Cody were expecting, they gave us this onesie with the name "Swody" on it, but it was all black and white, no color. Well, "Swody" has color now!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! My Grandkids’ Valentines!

Stampin’ Up! My Grandkids’ Valentines!

It's Friday! yay! I love Fridays! Even though I have the BEST job in the world to get to stamp and share with you all, I still love the extra-relaxed feeling I get just knowing it's almost the weekend!

Yesterday my oldest grandson, Cohen, turned 5! WOW! He was still just a baby when I left my day-job to pursue my dream of being a full-time Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and here we are! This fall he will start kindergarten and I will have been a full-time demo for 5 years! Amazing!

Tonight is Cohen's Birthday Party and I am ready! I purchased his gift right after Christmas – all I still need to do is wrap it! And his card is finished too:

But I did promise to show you the Valentines I will be helping my grandkids make this year, didn't I?

First up, the one you actually saw yesterday, only you didn't know which one it was, right? Here's Ava's Valentine "matchbook", complete with Sweettarts candy!

Ava 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Of course, in the words of my daughter, Kimberly: "no valentine is any good without candy!", so here's the inside:

Ava 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Next, Cohen's Valentine, which is another matchbook but with a much more masculine theme:

Cohen 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

That amazing ol' Owl Builder Punch comes in SO handy! Kimberly swears EVERYONE NEEDS it!

And inside:

Cohen 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

And lastly, I took the Valentine Heart Box from my Hearts a Flutter Class and turned "vintage" into "modern" for Maddie Kate with the Pop-Up Posies Kit:

Mk 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

The Calypso Coral pre-cut flowers in the kit made embellishing this favor a real treat! I actually enlarged this box from the original, using the next-size-larger Heart Framelit and enlarging the inside box as well by using 12 x 12 Basic Black cardstock. This baby will hold lots more Hershey's Kisses than the original!

I added a Basic Black Basics Glimmer Brad to the center of the flower for some bling and used the "just for you" stamp that is part of the Pop-Up Posies Kit for the greeting.

The Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Folder was used to emboss the Pool Party heart, and the Fancy Fan Folder was used around the edges of the box:

Mk 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

The top of the box is tied shut with some of the Pool Party FREE RIBBON you can get with a $50 order right now during Sale-a-bration!

Can you tell I'm especially pleased with this project?

That's all for today! Hope your day Stampingrox!

Stampin’ Up! Heart Box for “Hearts a Flutter” Class!

Happy Wednesday to you! I put a sneak peek of this project on my Facebook page yesterday, it's a cute little "Hershey's Heart Box" that we will be making at my "Hearts a Flutter" Mystery Hostess Class tomorrow. There's still room in either session, 1 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., so contact me to attend!

I found the directions for this box on Brenda Quintana's blog. She is the creator of some really awesome 3-D projects, including the "Kissmas Tree" we made back in December!

You will receive your own copy of the directions to make this box, along with directions for all three of the additional projects at the class tomorrow.

This box is ingenius but astonishingly easy!

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration has begun! How will you Sale-a-brate?

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration has begun! How will you Sale-a-brate?

This posting is late today, I know, but it is still on time since it is still Sunday!

Before I show you my creation for today, how about a little picture of me and my sister?

Sissies

Last Sunday afternoon my hubby & I traveled north about 2 1/2 hours to the city of my birth, Decatur, Illinois to attend a retirement party for my sister, Connie. Connie worked as a Respiratory Therapist for many years (over 30!). Her husband retired a couple of years ago, and now she has joined those ranks too!

Some say Connie looks like our dad and I look like our mom. I just know she was my favorite person growing up and is right up there on my favorites list now! I love you, sis!

Now on to today's card:

Tea for two recycle
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

This card's focal point is actually what would usually be considered the discard piece from yesterday's card. Remember the "quilted heart" from the center? This is the pieceit was cut out of, mounted on Chocolate Chip, then a heart from Hearts A Flutter stamped in Calypso Coral and a tiny little motif from the Sale-a-bration set, Madison Avenue,  stamped in Pool Party. The "LOVE YOU" is from Itty Bitty Banners cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

I have a confession to make: the base of this card was begun waaaaaay back in October of 2011! I was prepping swaps for the Louisville Regional that year and I ran out of time before I was able to complete them, so into storage they went, and were promptly forgotten! Leadership 2012, then Convention 2012 came and went, and these bases, Houndstooth-embossed Pool Party on Chocolate Chip, continued to languish, destined to oblivion once Pool Party retired in May of 2013. But lucky for them, while I was preparing the room where they were stored for Christmas family guests, they were unearthed (YOU don't have anything like that wasting away in YOUR craft or spare bedroom, do YOU?!)

So a discarded-but-now-repurposed focal point meets almost-forgotten card base. What do you think? I liked it once I completed it and it turns out I got lots of nice compliments on it when I swapped it in Orlando.

Thats all for today. It's a gloomy, cold, rainy & almost icy day here, but until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! That’s the Ticket Giftcardholder and a Resolution.

Stampin’ Up! That’s the Ticket Giftcardholder and a Resolution.

Whoa. I just stopped and checked my blog and found out I haven't posted since New Year's Eve! How could that happen? I'm SO SORRY!

It's not that I haven't been stamping. I've been stamping, and sharing at workshops, alot. It's not that I didn't get well from my sickiness around New Years, I'm doing great. It's not that I didn't travel to Orlando for the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference, had a great time, learned TONS and brought back beautiful inspiration and ideas!

It seems like I go along posting pretty regularly for awhile, and then one day I miss a day of posting. That seems to derail my blogging "voice" and it's hard to get back to it.

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions and while it's a little late for that, my resolution for 2013 is to blog EVERY DAY. Think I can make it? We'll see. Now that I've shared my resolution, I am now accountable to YOU.

I have made a few changes this month. I've started a new organization system to try to keep myself on track better. It's helping, I think. "Blogging Daily" needs to be added to that list.

A rather significant but also delightful change is that I've started keeping my 5 1/2 month-old grandson, Liam, 2-3 days a week. At his house. At least most of the time. So I have to think more deliberately about my "To Do" list and take stuff with me. Sometimes I take the right stuff, sometimes I don't. But the upside is that Liam is an adorable, bright, snuggly little sweetheart that I am absolutely in love with and am enjoying every minute in his presence! How do girls with little ones juggle being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator too? Guess I'm getting a tiny taste of that.

So changes. Change is usually good, sometimes painful, but often for the better. Here's my first creative share for 2013:

Thats the ticket 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

A fun mix of current and new products on this one! I used the Occasions set, "That's the Ticket" that I actually received last September during my Founder's Circle tour of the Stampin' Up! stamp manufacturing plant in Kanab, Utah. The "happy VALENTINE'S DAY" was stamped in Versamark ink  and then embossed with Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder and my Heat Tool. It was then punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I added a tiny knot of 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, a Vintage Trinket pin, and a Very Vanilla Flower Trim flower with Glue Dots. The heart was cut with a Hearts Framelit and dry embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot.

Here's the inside:

Isn't it gorgeous? Judy used the Occasions set, "Just Married" with Pool Party colors and Silver Glimmer Paper! (btw, you can get a free package of Silver Glimmer paper just for hosting a $150 party from now through March 22!)

Judy's design would be perfect for a giftcard for the happy couple!

I do love it when I can take a design and stretch it for another occasion!

That's all for today. I apologize for my wordiness, but I hope I've made up for it by showing you two projects instead of just one!

Now to get busy finishing my prep for my "Best of Birthdays" class tomorrow afternoon (still have a couple of seats left!) and my "Yes Mam!" Downline Meeting tomorrow night!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
