Stampin’ Up! Heart Punches to the Rescue!

Stampin’ Up! Heart Punches to the Rescue!

Before we get started today, I want to show you what was in my living room last night:

Swody boy 1

Did you guess????

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In July we will greet our 4th grandson! We are so excited!!!!!

No name yet, but I'll keep you posted when one is decided!

Before we had the big reveal, Jessica brought the grandkids to my house so we could get their valentines  made. Remember I showed them to you a few days ago.

I also gave them all their Valentine gifts from me yesterday. I won't be seeing them on Valentine's Day, and the gifts for Maddie Kate and Ava were valentine-themed cooking kits, so I got them wrapped and ready for them to open while they were at my house.

After I gathered everything together, I realized I had NO VALENTINE WRAPPING PAPER (GASP!) but it only took me a half a second to realize that I HAVE PUNCHES, so nothing to worry about!

Here's what I did for the girls' gifts:

Gifts 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, some Tea Lace Doilies, and the Big Shot Alphabet from the Stampin' Up! catalog! Voila!

For the boys:

Gifts 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Heart Framelits and the same alphabet again!

And finally, my gift for baby Swody (our name for Alisa's baby right now, a combo of "Sweed", (Alisa's nickname), and Cody:

Gifts 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I was trying to be gender-neutral because when I wrapped it we didn't know he was a boy yet! A little girly-looking, but I used the blue gingham side of the pink gingham wrapping paper I used for the girls to tone it down!

That's all for today! I will leave you with one more picture from last night. When we received the news that Alisa & Cody were expecting, they gave us this onesie with the name "Swody" on it, but it was all black and white, no color. Well, "Swody" has color now!

A Sneek Peek at April’s Special!

A Sneek Peek at April’s Special!

Stampin' Up! has a fantastic special coming up in April that is going to make you want to have a party!

During the month of April only, Stampin' Up! is previewing a new stamp set and a brand new package of Designer Series Paper from July's upcoming new Idea Book & Catalog, Customers can buy both of them after they make a $20 order, but hostesses can earn both for FREE when they have a $350 party in April ONLY!

The stamp set is called "Four Frames", and is $20.95 in Wood Mount and $15.95 in Clear Mount. The Designer Paper is called "Paisley Petals" and is $9.95!  When April Hostesses have a sales total of $350 or more, they automatically get BOTH the paper and the stamp set, an up to $30.90 value, FREE!

I can't show you the actual stamp set or the Designer Paper until April 1st, but I CAN show you samples made with them!

This first sample uses the dotted frame folded over as a pennant. I stamped the "y o u" with the "Sweet Shoppe" lower case alphabet before punching them out with the 3/4" circle punch. The banner is strung on Linen Thread and anchored to the card with Antique Brads! Isn't the background paper gorgeous? I LOVE it and will be using it ALOT!

This sample uses the framed roses stamp from "Four Frames". I teamed with with a more subtle piece of the "Paisley Petals" Designer Paper, Cherry Cobbler Textured Cardstock, an Sahara Sand! The blossoms are punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the Boho Blossoms punch, then they were scrunched and folded until the cardstock layers could be separated from each other to give it that soft, fuzzy, almost sueded look! The foliage is from the Two Step Bird punch! The finishing touches were added with the Basic Jewels Pearls and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding!

This last sample shows how versatile this paper is! In the first sample it was paired with River Rock, Old Olive, and Baja Breeze. In the second sample it was paired with Sahara Sand & Cherry Cobbler, and in this sample it is paired with Marina Mist, River Rock, and Cherry Cobbler! I used the "Scallop Trim" Border Punch on the edges of the banner, and the "Vintage Wallpaper" Textured Impression folder on the card front! I used a "Vintage Trinket" to secure the "Boho Blossoms" layered flower, and then added a cute little "hello" from "Tiny Tags" with the "Medium Jewelry" punch!

Celebrate!

Celebrate!

Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate! is what this card is all about! Raedean Shibata used the greeting from the Occasions Mini Level 2 Hostess set, "Something to Celebrate!" to make this card a happy one! She stamped the greeting three times, first in Tangerine Tango, next in  Peach Parfait, then last in a once stamped-off Daffodil Delight. These colors are all found in the "Sunny Garden" Designer Paper she used from page 174 of the Big Catalog, along with the "Fun Flowers" Bigz L Die from the Occasions Mini! Raedean stamped the large flourish in Pear Pizzazz from "Baroque Motifs" on page 132 of the Big Catalog as the perfect Background! She made her own bling-y brad by adding Super Nova Stampin' Glitter to a 5/8" Jumbo brad with Crystal Effects, and awesome touch!

Here's another "no name", but they did a great job in the "Clean & Simple" category with "Clearly for You" from the Occasions Mini, the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border punch, and the "Sweet Buttons" Embosslit from the Occasions Mini! Perhaps they forgot that the wheeled border at the bottom is a retired wheel, but "Petite Petals" Jumbo Wheel on page 106 would make a great current alternative!

Tammy Overstreet has combined the "Vintage Wallpaper" Textured Impressions Folder with the "Fun Flowers" Die and some "Chantilly" Crochet trim to create a soft, feminine, vintage-y look! She also used the "Petals-a-Plenty" Textured Impressions Folder, then punched out an individual circle flower as the center of her flower! The addition of the the tiny "Basic Jewels" pearl is the perfect finishing touch!

The Very Versatile Petal Cone Die!

The Very Versatile Petal Cone Die!

Last week I showed you the Easter Carrot Box we made at our "Yes, Ma'am's!" downline meeting with the Occasions Mini Petal Cone Die, so I thought today would be a good day to start showing you some of the other projects that can be made with this VERY versatile die!

First, here's a Petal Cone "cone basket" similar to how it is shown on page 15 of the Occasions Mini. I have CASED this project from somewhere, but have not kept track of who's original idea most of these were from, so if this is your's, please let me know so I can give you credit!

Next is a very vintage-y heart shaped basket. I also see Thanksgiving possibilities for this shape! (doesn't this one remind you of a turkey?) I used the "Vintage Wallpaper" Textured Impressions Folder on this one before assembling the box.

Here's a Petal Cone Ice Cream Cone! I used the sprinkles from the "Build a Cupcake" punch and covered them with Crystal Effects to give them the chocolatey yumminess look! The waffle look of the cone was achieved with the "Perfect Details" Texturz Plate. The edge of the ice cream scoop is from the "Tasteful Trim" Bigz XL Die.

Here's the inside. The "spoil yourself today" is from awesome new birthday set, "Bring on the Cake" in the Occasions Mini.

WOW VALENTINES!

WOW VALENTINES!

Oh WOW! I am SO EXCITED to show you these samples today! They are some of my absolute favorites!

This first one uses the SAB set, "Punch Bunch" (free with a $50 order until March 31st!), the Two-Step Owl Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, "Got Treats" set from page 55 of the Idea Book & Catalog, Cherry Cobbler & Very Vanilla ink & cardstock, and Cherry Cobbler Designer Paper from the Regals Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack on page 175! This little owl-y guy really "pops" for me!

Valetines 8

©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

I'm dying to make this "snow cupid", but I don't know if I will get a chance! Isn't he adorable? The "Be My Valentine" halo is from the "Be My Valentine" wood-mount single stamp from the back page of the Occasions mini catalog. At only $8.95, it's a gorgeous stamp for the price! His arms are made with the Snowflake Punch, the hearts are with the Small Heart Punch, and his nose with a petal from the Flower, Daisies #2 Die and the Big Shot!

Valentines 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

This next card is the perfect rendition of how I imagined these flamingos should be! These loving birds are found in the "Valentine Defined" stamp set in the Occasions Mini. as is the "love" which has been punched with the Modern Label punch. Both the "Framed Tulips" (Occasions Mini) and the "Square Lattice" Textured Impressions Folders were used on this card, along with 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon!

Valentines 9
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Here's these cute little owl guys again, only this time they are punched entirely from cardstock, but the "Valentine Defined" set was used again for the greeting and the wire they are sitting on. The creator of this card also used the "Pinking Hearts" Border Punch and 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon to finish this masterpiece!

Valentines 10
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Last-but-not-least for today, this elegant valentine uses the "amour" from "Artistic Etchings" on page 125 to highlight the Red Glimmer paper Full Heart punch on top of a distressed Decorative Label. Real Red, Crumb Cake, & Early Espresso are the colors used, along with the "Vintage Wallpaper" and "Perfect Polka Dots" Textured Impressions Folders and the "Scallop Squares Duo" Die (a carryover from the Holiday Mini with the Big Shot. The fun thing about the "Vintage Wallpaper" folder is that the negative side of the folder was brayered with Early Espresso ink before the paper was inseted, giving the design a bolder, yet more distressed look!
