Stampin’ Up! Easter Lamb!

Stampin’ Up! Easter Lamb!

Hey there! Aren't you glad it's Friday? I sure am! I'm looking forward to some time tomorrow to STAMP! Besides spending time with my husband, kids and grandbabies, my next favorite thing is playing with my stamps!

Today's card is created with the adorable wood-mount Easter Lamb! I can see using  little lamb-y for baby cards too, so I cut the stamp apart, putting the lamb on one side of the  block, and "happy easter" on an end.

I decided to feature "lamb-y" on an easel card. Easy to make with great visual appeal!

Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy

I used a bunch of the Ovals Collection Framelits, piercing the largest Blushing Bride scallop oval with my Paper-Piercing Tool and embossing the inner Blushing Bride oval with the Fluttering Textured Impressions Folder.

ADDED BONUS!!!! The Fringe Scissors creating the "grass" are on sale in the Weekly Deals! YAY!

I punched tiny Blushing Bride flowers with the Tree Builder Punch, and after smooshing them into the Stampin' Pierce Mat with the end of my Paper-Piercing Tool I dotted the centers with my White Gel Pen. I also filled in the larger "fluffs" on the Blushing Bride lamb's wool with the same pen.

I stamped "happy easter" with Soft Suede ink, punched with the Washi Label, then adding over a Blushing Bride scallop circle, also pierced in each scallop.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Suite Sayings and cut with another Ovals  framelit.

Stampin’ Up! Mini Bunny Baskets!

Stampin’ Up! Mini Bunny Baskets!

Hey there! I was AWOL yesterday because I was sick with the respiratory flu. I ran a fever, runny nose, coughing, aches. I was a lump on the couch all day. The only thing I did was watch the final season of Downton Abbey. It's sad to see it go, but I have them all on DVD so they aren't really gone. Probably my favorite series EVER!

Today I am upright at the computer, and no fever right now, so I'm sharing the mini Easter Bunny Baskets I made a few days ago:

Stampin_up_friends_&_flowers_bunny_baskets_1_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I used my tutorial I posted for the mini Easter Baskets from 2014. You can find the tutorial HERE.

I simplified them by adding these adorable little bunny faces using Friends & Flowers from the Occasions Catalog.

I made all four with a different embossing folder for each one. First, with the Honeycomb folder:

Boho Chic  folder:

Elegant Dots folder:

And the Woodgrain folder:

I added the cheek blush with a pencil eraser and Blushing Bride ink. The paws are 1/2" circles cut in half with the paw lines hand-drawn.

These little baskets are perfect for just a small handful of jelly beans or chocolate! Here's the supply list for shopping in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.com

Stampin’ Up! Indescribable Gift for Easter!

Stampin’ Up! Indescribable Gift for Easter!

Hey there! Palm Sunday is behind us and next weekend is Easter! Here's a  cute anecdote from one of my Facebook friends: her young daughter asked her to be sure and take the pom-poms to church yesterday so they could cheer for Jesus! She was hearing the word "poms" when they were talking about "palms"! So sweet!

Today's card is an Easter card using Indescribable Gift. It was actually the first card I made before I created the Indescribable Birthday card from this post HERE.

Stampin_up_indescribable_gift_easter_1

I brayered the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper with Pool Party ink and pierced the large scallop oval with one of the Occasions Paper-Piercing Templates and a Paper-Piercing Tool.

Stampin_up_indescribable_gift_ easter_3

I sponged the white heat-embossed blossom image with Pool Party ink to make the blooms pop!

Stampin_up_indescribable_gift_easter_4
I sponged "Happy Easter" too. I'm really going to miss the Coastal Cabana ribbon disappearing when the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack retires tomorrow. Sigh.

NSR:Ava and Easter Egg Wreaths!

NSR:Ava and Easter Egg Wreaths!

Hey there! How did you like the blog hop this month? I thought everyone's projects were awesome! On Friday I will have a little tutorial for you of how to make the kite, but today I have a non-stamping post about my granddaughter, Ava!

Here's the story. Last year in May I invited Ava to spend the night with me after Maddie Kate's birthday party. Maddie was having a slumber party and we decided Ava would probably have more "fun" if she spent the night with me than being the odd-man-out with Maddie and her friends. So Ava came home with me and we made plans to go get manicures and pedicures the next day. During the night I started running a fever and by the next morning I had to send her home because I was sick with what turned out to be a 3-4 week battle with a bad sinus infection.

Roll forward to a few weeks ago. I had a free weekend (no stamping events planned) and on Thursday I started thinking about having Ava spend the night with me. I was in Walmart when I thought about it, checked with Jessica and found out it would be ok for Ava to spend the next night (Friday). I purchased supplies for a craft project for she & I to make while we were together before I went home. Before I went to bed that night, however, I started running a fever, and it turned out we had to postpone Ava spending the night again! I couldn't believe it! Ava ended up having a friend spend the night with her so she wasn't too terribly disappointed with me having to cancel.

Since I had bought all of the stuff to make an Easter project with Ava, and I didn't want have to store it until next year, a couple of Sunday's ago Ava came home with me after church and we made these:

Ava's wreath 2

We cut craft netting into long strips to wrap around a flat wreath form, hot gluing it to the form and to  itself. We cut, folded, and twisted smaller strips to create the "poofs", hot-gluing them to the wreath as well. We finished off by hot-gluing the eggs to the wreath. We also found it was a good idea to put a bit of hot-glue inside the eggs right along the joining seam to keep them from popping apart before we glued them to the wreath.

Avas wreath 3

We both made a wreath, so we learned a lot as we went along. The second one (Ava's) went much faster than the first one (mine)!

I manned the glue gun and Ava made all the "poof" and  egg-placement decisions!

Ava's wreath
While we were working on our wreaths I told Ava about my Grandma Mabel. I only had one grandma when I was growing up, because all the rest of my grandparents had passed away before I was born. My Grandma had a lot of grandchildren, but she always found a way to make each one of us feel like we were her favorite. I've always hoped that I could do the same for my grandchildren. One time when I was staying with my Grandma after my mom passed away, she made candles. We used  empty 1/2 gallon milk cartons for the molds and string tied to a stick laid over the top of the carton for the wick. It was a very simple (and not especially pretty) craft, but it was special to me because my Grandma WANTED to do it with me.

We still haven't managed to have Ava spend the night, but one of these days we will!

That's all for today. I just wanted to share with you how I'm trying to follow in my Grandma's footsteps. That makes me (and hopefully my grandchildren) very happy!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day! Easter Cards!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day! Easter Cards!

Hey there, I'm back and pretty quickly, with my promised post of new cards for you. My last post weighed heavy on my heart, but it was something I needed to do. For those of you that read my story, thank you.

Last month's installment of swaps was fantastic. I.mean.really.great.

Today I have the spring-iest and easter-y-iest of them to share with you:

First, Ann Betty's creation with Springtime Hello, Window Frames Framelits, Decorative Dots folder (returning in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog!) and now-retired Sweet Sorbet DSP:

Next, a cute bunny card. Unfortunately, the creator failed to put their name on this one, but used Ovals Colection Framelits, all three Oval punches, the Small Heart Punch, and Linen Thread to create this cute little fellow:

Another bunny, "milk chocolate" this time, created by Cathy Stephenson of Boise, Idaho. This bunny is holding a designer paper "egg" punched with the Small Oval punch!

Lastly, Linda Pagel brought back and oldie-but-goodie, the pop-up-card. She used the Blessed Easter single stamp, combining Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green with the "bubbles" stamp from Happy Watercolor.

It starts out folded flat:

Then you push down on the green sides to reveal the pop-up center!

A side view of the way the cardstock folds out to create the base for the card stand:

That's all for now! Today Maddie Kate & Ava are coming over after church. I have a craft project planned I've been wanting to try for awhile, and hope to have pictures of it to share with you tomorrow!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
