Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day! Easter Cards!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day! Easter Cards!

Hey there, I'm back and pretty quickly, with my promised post of new cards for you. My last post weighed heavy on my heart, but it was something I needed to do. For those of you that read my story, thank you.

Last month's installment of swaps was fantastic. I.mean.really.great.

Today I have the spring-iest and easter-y-iest of them to share with you:

First, Ann Betty's creation with Springtime Hello, Window Frames Framelits, Decorative Dots folder (returning in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog!) and now-retired Sweet Sorbet DSP:

Next, a cute bunny card. Unfortunately, the creator failed to put their name on this one, but used Ovals Colection Framelits, all three Oval punches, the Small Heart Punch, and Linen Thread to create this cute little fellow:

Another bunny, "milk chocolate" this time, created by Cathy Stephenson of Boise, Idaho. This bunny is holding a designer paper "egg" punched with the Small Oval punch!

Lastly, Linda Pagel brought back and oldie-but-goodie, the pop-up-card. She used the Blessed Easter single stamp, combining Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green with the "bubbles" stamp from Happy Watercolor.

It starts out folded flat:

Then you push down on the green sides to reveal the pop-up center!

A side view of the way the cardstock folds out to create the base for the card stand:

That's all for now! Today Maddie Kate & Ava are coming over after church. I have a craft project planned I've been wanting to try for awhile, and hope to have pictures of it to share with you tomorrow!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Getting My Groove Back!

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Getting My Groove Back!

Hey there! I have to apologize for being silent so much of this past week. Even though I am feeling much better, laying low for those several days last week really put me behind on everything, including stamping and creating. I will have something new to show you on Monday, thank goodness, and am really happy to have more swaps to share with you today!

As many of you probably know, I participate in a monthly swap with Carol Nordquist's group. Carol has gathered a group of exceptional demonstrator stampers over the years. I was honored to be invited to join her group a few years ago (2009 I believe), and have been swapping with them almost every month since! We swap full cards, not just card fronts, and a total of 21 all-alike cards wings their way to Minnetonka, MN, around the 16th of every month. I am always excited to receive back 20 different cards, usually based on the theme Carol chooses.

Today's cards are no exception to the excellence rule of Carol's swap. This first card is by the queen of the swap herself, Carol Nordquist! Carol combined the Blessed Easter single stamp with Calypso Coral, Whisper White, and Basic Black to create a memorable birthday card:

When you open the card it folds back into a traditional easel card. Carol used a sentiment from Perfect Pennants, punched with the Decorative Label Punch, as the "stop" for the easel, and added Dazzling Diamonds to to popped-up tulip for some bling!

Renee Watson also used a sentiment from Perfect Pennants, coupling it with rock-n-rolled Petite Petals blossoms, Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon, and a Tempting Turquoise/Chevron Textured card base.

Loraine Duran used the same sentiment Renee did, only she used stamps from Simple Stems and free Sale-a-bration Designer Paper, Sweet Sorbet for her Scalloped Tag Topper Closure card for a completely different look:

Amy Combs took Perfect Pennants in another direction entirely with the Geometrical stamp set and Kaleidoscope Designer Paper. She added touches of Burlap  and Natural Chevron Ribbon, and stamped her main image on a Scalloped Tag Topper-punched tag. The Arrows Textured Impressions Folder-embossed Summer Starfruit retro background pulls it all together!

Retro Fresh paper was combined with the Spiral Spins stamp set from the Occasions catalog (reminds me of my old spirograph!) A Just Sayin' greeting was cut with a Word Bubbles Framelit and a bit of Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffled Stretch Trim was formed into a rosette by this un-named (no name on the backof the card) creator:

Last for this week's Sunday Swap Day, Katy Simecka cut out a Silver-embossed Happy Day from Starburst Sayings with a Starburst Framelit, then mounted it on Fancy Foil Silver Vellum. This color and paper combo would also make a great wedding, anniversary, or retirement card, wouldn't it?

That's all for today. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see a trio of little spring/easter treats I created for you!

I would be remiss if I let you go today without reminding you that today and tomorrow are the final day of Sale-a-bration for 2014. It goes by so quickly, doesn't it? To place your final (or maybe your first!) order of at least $50 before tax & shipping and choose your free item from this year's Sale-a-bration catalog, click HERE to shop and order from my Online Store.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Sweet Sayings Cards & Envelopes!

Stampin’Up! Sweet Sayings Cards & Envelopes!

Hey there! I have a trio of cards to show you today. I created them using the Sweet Sayngs Cards & Envelopes from the "Whole Lot of Love" flyer of products that has been extended until February 14.

This 12 pack of card and coordinating envelopes is not just for valentines:

Stampin_up_blessed_easter_1

First, an easter card using the Blessed Easter wood-mount single stamp, the Happy Day stamp set, Pool Party 1/2" Seam Binding, and the Scallop Tag Topper punch!

Stampin_up_blessed_easter_2

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Blessings from Heaven, then breathed on the left-over ink on the Blessed Easter stamp to re-moisten so I could stamp again in the lower left corner. The Sweet Sayings pack has four each of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, and Read Red envelopes, so I stamped with the medallion stamp from Happy Day with Crisp Cantaloupe ink on the matching envelope!

Stampin_up_happy_day

Next, I used more stamps from Happy Day, Pool Party 1/2" Seam Binding, and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch again to create this fun little general-greeting card. I added a few Rhinestones to give it a little "pop"!

Stampin_up_happy_day_2

This time I stamped on the Pool Party envelope that comes with the Sweet Sayings cards to keep the coordination going!

Stampin_up_language_of_love_1

Finally, I used the Language of Love stamp set to create a valentine! I stamped my images with Real Red, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Pool Party. The heart with the love sentiments in many languages was punched with the Full Heart punch, and I fussy-cut the banners and pennant with my Paper Snips. I backed the heart with a Real Red one cut with one of the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. I punched a little half-circle with an Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack punch on each side of the card front to help anchor the Pool Party Twine from the FREE SAB Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack.

I hope you've enjoyed my trio of cards. I love how Stampin' Up! has been giving us so many more kit options lately that have pre-cut, pre-scored card bases and envelopes! It makes card making a snap!
