Stampin’ Up! Chalkboard Technique!

Hey there and welcome to the October edition of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! Our October theme is a fun technique, Chalkboard!

I used the Merriest Moments Bundle to create two card with the Chalkboard Technique. First I cut & embossed the frame with Snowy White 12" x 12" specialty paper using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.

I heat embossed the sentiment from Merriest Moments using white embossing powder and my Heat Tool. After heating, I cut it out with the rectangle die from the set (the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder name is a bit misleading, the package also contains dies) then added smudges of white craft ink using a Blending Brush to look like an old-fashioned chalkboard.

The poinsettia image is from Merriest Moments. I cut it and the gold bloom with more dies from the Merriest Frames pack. I finished it off with a Gilded Gem.

These little cuties are part of it too. I cut them from Cherry Cobbler card stock!

Inside I stamped another Merriest Moments sentiment with black ink.

For my second chalkboard creation, I used Blushing Bride for a softer color palette.

I used the same heat embossing method as with the first card, then added the chalkboard smudges again with white craft ink and a Blending Brush.

The Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder includes these pretty scattered "sparkles" when you emboss an entire layer of card stock.

I tied a few inches of Blushing Bride 3/8" Frayed Grosgrain in a pretty knot then wrapped the ends around the chalkboard layer.

Inside and out I added a few Elegant Gems in the Petal Pink color for some sparkle. I stamped the inside sentiment with Blushing Bride ink.

Sunday Swap day October 10th!

Hey there! I'm back again with a Sunday Swap Day that is actually ON Sunday! My life has been so incredibly hectic lately, I feel like I'm not getting anything done and things are piling up on me. I am going to have this coming week off from babysitting Fiona due to her family is now in quarantine. No one is terribly sick, for which I am thankful, but I am accumulating a long list of things that I hope to accomplish this week! If I can get half of it done I will be happy!

To start of my share today I have this gorgeous Bright Baubles creation by Meg Holland:

She used adhesive sheets to keep track of all of the pieces and to make it simpler to adhere them inside the tree frame.

Next, Sharon Tong-Robinson also used Bright Baubles to create a fun-fold Christmas card.

The Stitched Rectangle dies make this fun-fold so much easier to make!

There are four intricate design dies in the Bright Baubles bundle, including this one used by Jan Rodrain!

Karen Kurz used both the Christmas Season and Christmas to Remember stamp sets with Painted Christmas Designer paper for her traditionally "Christmas-y" card!

Finally, this Stars Are Shining Bundle card arrived with no creator's name attached.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! We had a wonderful family day yesterday celebrating our two September birthdays, Jessica and Grace! Just about everyone was able to stay all afternoon and into the evening. The weather was perfect for a family corn-hole tournament and the kids played outside all afternoon! Needless to say, by the time everyone left and I finished putting my house back together (which is what happens when 24 people are in and out all day!) I was ready to tumble into bed!

Today I have a collection of fun Christmas cards to share with you!

First, an elegant but whimsical Peaceful Deer card created by Audra Moncur:

She combined the stamp-and-punch bundle with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder, Peaceful Prints Sale-a-bration designer paper, and Blushing Bride 3/8" Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon!

Karen Kurz also used the Peaceful Deer bundle with Peaceful Prints DSP, but she used a fun "quilt" technique to create the background:

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Shapes Frosted Gingerbread!

Hey there! Today I have a couple more cards created with the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set, one with the Watercolor Shapes stamp set for the background!

These cards are both stamped on our Basic White Note Cards that come packaged with coordinating envelopes!

This card is simply stamped with Real Red and Cinnamon Cider ink. I added a 1/2" strip of Gingerbread & Peppermint designer paper at the bottom and a Gilded Gem in the snowflake center for a bit of shine.

Fun, simple, and very easy to duplicate!

Inside I stamped more images from Frosted Gingerbread and added another strip of the same designer series paper!

This card is stepped-up just a bit with the circle image from Watercolor Shapes stamped with stamped-off Crumb Cake behind the Just Jade, Real Red, and Misty Moonlight images for some depth and texture.

I used the same Frosted Gingerbread greeting from the first card. This card is also a Note Card size!

The Gilded Gems are so bright and versatile! I want to use them on almost all of my cards right now!

Inside the Frosted Gingerbread sentiment looks completely different with the stamped-off Crumb Cake behind it!

Hey there! Once again it's time for the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! Our theme for this month is "Christmas Creations", and I have a group of cards all created with the Frosted Gingerbread bundle and Gingerbread & Peppermint 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper!

Here's the group of cards I made with the "Arm Flap-Fold":

I started on each card by adhering a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper to the front of an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base, scored and folded at 4 1/4". I used the snowflake from the Gingerbread Dies to cut through both front layers of the card. I cut another snowflake from Basic White to stamp the front greeting from Frosted Gingerbread.

I used the same snowflake die to cut a snowflake from the Gingerbread & Peppermint designer paper, then adhered it to the layers I cut from the front to give the snowflake more stability. I used a piece of coordinating card stock 3/4" x 4", scored at 2" to create the arm flap. One end of the flap is secured under the inside white layer. I closed the card and adhered the snowflake to the end of the arm flap through the cut snowflake opening. I added a Cherry Cobbler Holiday Rhinestone to the center of the snowflake for some sparkle.

I stamped the inside sentiment from Tidings & Trimmings through the snowflake opening in the front layers when the card is closed so it will hide behind the snowflake on the arm flap.

I did the same process with the ornament, stamping the front greeting from Tidings & Trimmings.

I added a Shaded Spruce Holiday Rhinestone to the ornament center.

I stamped the Frosted Gingerbread greeting with Real Red ink.

For this Old Olive based version I used the star die and a greeting from Tidings & Trimmings.

A Shaded Spruce Holiday Rhinestone provides the bit of sparkle.

I stamped this Tidings & Trimmings sentiment behind the star with Real Red ink.

Finally, I cut the bell with another Gingerbread die from the Gingerbread & Peppermint designer paper, and the greeting is from Tidings & Trimmings.

I used another Cherry Cobbler Holiday Rhinestone to fill the bell's center.

I finished the inside of this one with a Frosted Gingerbread sentiment.
