Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Home Color Challenge!

Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Home Color Challenge!

Hey there and happy Monday! Today I have another card I created for the Creative Crew over on Splitcoaststampers for their November Challenge. Today's challenge is a color challenge. We were to take these colors and translate them into a Christmas card:

C7d52470be8ca4d1a1f8ac04b9a87503

My first job was to translate the above colors into Stampin' Up! colors, so I chose these five Stampin' Up! colors to match:

CCREW1117CLR Color Challenge

For my creation with the Challenge Colors I used the Hearts Come Home set with Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Stampin_up_hearts_come_home_carolpaynestamps1

I used one of each of the three shapes of Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out a stamped Hearts Come Home image.

Stampin_up_hearts_come_home_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped "Joy to the world" repeatedly on the Pink Pirouette background layer with Flirty Flamingo ink. "MERRY & BRIGHT"  is stamped with Real Red.

I love this little house stamped with Soft Suede. Marina Mist "smoke" is coming out of the chimney.

I love all of the images in Hearts Come Home.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day November 5th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day November 5th!

Hey there! It's time again for Sunday Swap Day! yay!

Ruth Ann Lilley combined the Carols of Christmas set with Be Merry Designer Paper for a CAS (and quick) card:

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

Another creator used a Christmas Quilt sentiment with Be Merry Designer Paper, and a Stitched Shapes Framelit. Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Whisper White, and a bit of 1/4" Double-Stitched Cherry Cobbler Ribbon all coordinate together.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Karen Kurz used almost all of the Quilted Christmas Suite to create her easel card.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps2

 There's a surprise gift-card holder!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps3

The Quilt Builder Framelits include dies to cut out the spool and the needle!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps4

Finally, the creator of this card also used Quilted Christmas Suite elements with Watercolor Christmas stamps for a classic Christmas look. A Real Red card base embossed with the Quilt Top Textured Impression Embossing Folder, combined with a strip of Quilted Christmas 6 x6" Designer Paper, Emerald Envy, Whisper White, and a bit of Emerald Envy 3/8" Grosgrain Striped Ribbon are easy, yet very effective.

1" and 1 1/4" Circle Punches easily create the tree embellishment, topped with a gold Metallic Enamel Shape (star).

Stampin’ Up! Merry Little Labels Box of Tags!

Stampin’ Up! Merry Little Labels Box of Tags!

Hey there! I finally had a chance to do some serious stamping yesterday! yay! My mojo had taken a vacation for a few days, which is NOT helpful at all, but when that happens I just start cutting paper for a future class or stamp up leftover kits from a past class and it usually returns pretty quickly!

I was needing some mojo badly because my projects for the November Creative Crew over on Splitcoaststampers was due, like literally yesterday; actually November 1st! I was able to finish all of my challenge projects and uploaded them all to the gallery last night. Whew!

Today I want to share with you a box of tags I created for the Creative Crew Sketch Challenge. We were to create our project using this sketch of a bunch of tags:

0c532417d16d313c8e0a7ed84406a7d2

With so many choices it was hard to decide! I finally decided to start with a box to hold a group of tags. I used this Mini File Box tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.  I used Merry Little Labels stamps, Everyday Label Punch, Crumb Cake, Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, Silver Glimmer Paper, the Envelope Punch Board, and a Brights Enamel Shape (Real Red) to create this:

Stampin_up_mini_file_box_carolpaynestamps1

This little Mini File Box is absolutely adorable! I used this one for tags, but you could put a candy bar or a host of other things in it too!

Stampin_up_merry_little_labels_carolpaynestamps1

After I decided t use the black & white plaid print from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper package, the whole thing came together really quickly. After I stamped "just for you" from Merry Little Labels with Basic Black ink on Whisper White card stock, I punched with the Everyday Label Punch. I punched a second label from Basic Black card stock, cut it in half, and attached the ends to the top and bottom of the greeting label using SNAIL adhesive. The belly band was created from 7 1/2 inches of Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. I cut a snowflake from Silver Glimmer Paper with a Seasonal Layers Thinlet Die. I adhered the greeting with dimensionals and the snowflake with a glue dot. I added a Brights Enamel Shape (heart) in the center of the snowflake to cover up the stickiness in the center from the glue dot.

That's all for now. I'll share the stack of tags I made to go with the box tomorrow! Sorry/not sorry to make you wait! lol!

Stampin’ Up! Smitten Mittens, Part 3!

Stampin’ Up! Smitten Mittens, Part 3!

Hey there! I'm so excited to share with you my favorite Smitten Mittens card so far!

These mittens are so inspiring, they make me think of warm and snuggly sweaters, so I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder and sponged it with Crumb Cake ink to create the background for the mittens.

Stampin_up_smitten_carolpaynestamps1

I cut out an intricate mitten from both Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla, then backed each with the contrasting color. I added a couple of threads pulled from 5/8" Burlap Ribbon to "hang" them on the card.

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps2

I love the bold but elegant greeting from Merry Misteltoe, stamped  with Cherry Cobbler on the Very Vanilla banner. I cut the Very Vanilla strip and then the Cherry Cobbler one a 1/4" longer before punching both with the Banner Triple Punch. I added a Hearts & Stars Element with liquid glue.

Stampin_up_merry_misteltoe_carolpaynestamps1

The inside greeting is also from Merry Misteltoe.

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps3

I created a mitten stencil by cutting a scrap piece of card stock with the die, then sponging with Cherry Cobbler ink. There are so many things you can do with die and framelits, it's crazy awesome!

Stampin’ Up! Smitten Mittens, My Second Creation!

Stampin’ Up! Smitten Mittens, My Second Creation!

Hey there! Yesterday was such a busy day I never had a chance to blog! I had some urgent errands to run, as well as the first session of my Stamptober Christmas Card Class! The second session is today and starts very soon!

Today's card is the second I created while playing with the Smitten Mittens bundle. This time I used Pool Party, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, and a strip of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper to create this:

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps1

I love the look of Whisper White with Crumb Cake and Pool Party! So snowy! I heat embossed the sentiment mitten with white embossing powder on Pool Party, then cut out with the open mitten die from the Many Mittens Framelits. I cut a companion mitten, also from Pool Party, with the knit-looking Many Mittens framelit.

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps2

I added a piece of Pool Party Solid Baker's Twine over some Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon, securing a tiny bow with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps3

After embossing the layer with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, I colored a single pearl with my Pool Party Stampin' Blends marker. These alcohol markers will be available to order starting November 1st! You can add Stampin' Up! color to almost anything with these, in addition to coloring like  a pro!

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped the Smitten Mittens sentiment with Bermuda Bay ink so it would stand out just a bit more from the Pool Party stamped snowflakes.

Stampin_up_smitten_mittens_carolpaynestamps5

There! Just in time for my class to start! Come back tomorrow for Sunday Swap Day, and then Monday I will be sharing another Smitten Mitten creation!
