Stampin’ Up! Skating Spirited Snowmen!

Stampin’ Up! Skating Spirited Snowmen!

Hey there! There are two other snowman images in the Spirited Snowmen set besides the one I've used on all of my previous projects. Today I have a card to share that uses the little skating guy!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps1

I LOVE this little guy in his toboggan hat! I colored directly on the Crumb Cake card stock with the Stampin' Blends after stamping him with Memento ink. Memento is the best ink to use with Stampin' Blends because it doesn't bleed! I colored his body sections with a Chalk Marker, then colored over that with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!

The snowflakes inside the oval are from the Spirited Snowmen set and are heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

To give him a little more depth, after I finished coloring him, I then took the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker and traced a line all the way around. It looked darker when I first started tracing around him, but as soon as the alcohol evaporated the line no longer looked harsh or too "contrasty".

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps2

I smeared a thin layer of Shimmery White Embossing Paste over the Crumb Cake background embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic folder. The Shimmery White Embossing Paste dries quickly and gives such a lovely frosty look!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps3

The snowflake is cut with the Blizzard Thinlets Die and has a Gold Metallic Pearl added to the center.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps4

The inside sentiment is from Timeless Tidings.

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Springy Snowmen Part TWO!

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Springy Snowmen Part TWO!

Hey there! Here's the second spring-y snowman card created with Spirited Snowmen, Buffalo Check, Timeless Tidings, and the Blizzard Thinlet Die:

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps6

This snowman jiggles, wiggles, and springs!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps8

Stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Stampin' Blends, and cut out with Paper Snips. I painted him with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps7

I punched the Timeless Tidings sentiment with the 2 1/4" Circle Punch, then cut a scalloped circle from Bermuda Bay with a Layering Circle Framelit.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps9

Inside I used a Timeless Tidings sentiment, adding brayered Pool Party snowflakes.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps10

TO MAKE THE SPRING!

I needed thin wire, but didn't have any, so I stripped the cover from a twist-tie, then wrapped about 3 1/2 inches around a paintbrush handle. I slid the spring off the handle.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps1

Four 3/4" white circles and four 3/4" Multipurpose Adhesive circles. Pierce a hole in the center of two white circles.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps2

Thread the spring ends through the holes.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps3

Add a Multi-purpose Adhesive circle to another white circle, remove the backing, adhere over the wire ends.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps4

Add a final layer of adhesive sheet to the circles. I uncovered the stickiness to adhere the spring to the snowman and the card. These directions are paraphrased from Gillian Whitcombe, UK Stampin' Up! Demo.

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Springy Snowmen!

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Springy Snowmen!

Hey there! I've played with the Spirited Snowmen A LOT. This set is a MUST HAVE! I had fun making this little guy:

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps1

He shimmies with just a flick of your finger, thanks to a tiny custom-made spring!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped Very Vanilla with the Buffalo Check background and Pool Party ink, then used a Sponge Brayer to roll Pool Party ink over a snowflake stencil created with the Blizzard Thinlet. I cut it with a Layering Oval Framelit to create the background for  the springy snowman.

Snowflake stencil

After stamping the snowman with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloring with Stampin' Blends, I cut him out with Paper Snips.

Paper-cutting Tip: Cut slightly outside the lines of the image, leaving a narrow edge of white all around. This gives your eye the impression that the cutting is smoother than it might not really be. As you cut on the curves, move the PAPER more than you move the scissors. This also helps you to cut more smoothly!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_cutting_carolpaynestamps1

I adhered him to the card front with the custom-made spring.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps3

I added a greeting from Beautiful Blizzard and embellishments cut with the Blizzard Thinlets Die. I added rhinestones for extra sparkle, of course!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used another Beautiful Blizzard sentiment and more brayering with the snowflake stencil.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps5

Wondering about that spring? I have another Spirited Snowman card to share tomorrow, AND a mini-spring tutorial!

Stampin’ Up! My Spirited Snowmen Shoebox Swap!

Stampin’ Up! My Spirited Snowmen Shoebox Swap!

Hey there! I've shown you all of the Yes Mam! Stampers Shoebox Swaps except for mine, so I'm sharing it with you today! I used the Spirited Snowmen set with the Corrugated Dynamic folder, Blizzard Thinlet, and Shimmery White Embossing Paste to create this fellow:

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps1

Anytime I color with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers I make sure I stamp my image first with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is specially formulate to not bleed when colored with the Stampin' Blends.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps2

The Shimmery White Embossing Paste is perfect for adding "snow" to any wintry project. I used one of the Palette Knives to smear the paste literally all over the card! The Embossing Paste dries quickly, so it not only is easy to handle as I assemble the card, but I also have to remember to clean the Palette Knife right away!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps3

I cut the snowflakes with the Blizzard Thinlets Die, then adhered with a glue dot. I added Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels as the final touch!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps4

I stamped-off the Crumb Cake-inked snowman twice before adding him to the inside. The sentiment and the snowflakes are all from Spirited Snowmen.
