Stampin’ Up! Faux Diamond Dust!

Stampin’ Up! Faux Diamond Dust!

Hey there! Today's card was created with the Faux Diamond Dust technique with the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and a sneak peek of  new stamps and dies that will only be available to order in November!

I stamped a white layer with the background stamps from Beautiful Blizzard with stamped-off Coastal Cabana, then stamped full-strength Coastal Cabana snowflakes.

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps1

I adhered a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet, removing the remaining protective layer to expose the stickiness.

Next step I cut snowflakes with limited-edition Snowfall Thinlets from limited-edition White Velvet Sheets! This paper is so soft and pretty!

After adhering the snowflakes with Stampin' Dimensionals,  I sprinkled the stickiness with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter for the "Faux Diamond Dust" effect!

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps2

The die-cut snowflakes are more rounded and full than when cut from regular Whisper White card stock!

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps3

I added a rhinestone to the center of each snowflake for a tad more bling!

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps4

I cut a snippet of a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the tiniest snowflake!

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps5

I stamped the Beautiful Blizzard Greeting with Coastal Cabana on a strip of white, then used the Darling Label Punch to decorate the corners. I adhered to a strip of Coastal Cabana before adhering to the card front with dimensionals.

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps6

The inside sentiment and image are both from Snow is Glistening, which will be available to order on November 1st!

Stampin_up_snow_is_glistening_carolpaynestamps1

I really really love how Stampin' Up! creates sentiments from different sets that will coordinate with each other!

Stampin_up_snow_is_glistening_carolpaynestamps2

This card is my first one playing with Snow is Glistening. I'm looking forward to using it to make more!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day October 28th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day October 28th!

Hey there! Yesterday was a long, long day. I was awakened at 5:30 a.m with the news that my youngest daughter, the one with the newest baby, was headed to the ER with a kidney stone. Mark headed to their house to watch the three older children, while I headed to meet them and the littlest one, at the ER. Twelve hours and minus THREE tic-tac-sized stones later, she is back home with no infection and only ibuprofen for pain. Praise God! My arms are tired from holding, bouncing, jiggling, and comforting a cranky, hungry 3-month-old who refused to drink formula from a bottle. She's never had any thing but mommy's milk, so I can't say as I blame her. I took ibuprofen before I went to bed too!

Thankfully I have Sunday Swap Day projects to share with you today, and they are all Christmas-themed!

First, a fun card by Sharon Tong-Robinson with the Feathers & Frost set colored with Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Markers:

Stampin_up_feathers_&_frost_carolpaynestamps1

This sentiment is included in Feathers & Frost:

Stampin_up_feathers_&_frost_carolpaynestamps2

Next, Tamie Ackerson used the Making Christmas Bright set with Poppy Parade, Whisper White, and Santa's Workshop Designer Series Paper for her card. She embellished with Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon from the Annual Catalog.

Stampin_up_making_christmas_bright_carolpaynestamps5

The inside sentiment and the string of light bulbs is also from Making Christmas Bright!

Stampin_up_making_christmas_bright_carolpaynestamps7

Timeless Tidings was the set of choice for Stephanie Flath. I didn't know there was such a place as Wyoming, Michigan, did you?

Stephanie embossed both Whisper White and Galvanized Metallic Paper with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder for an inlaid look:

Stampin_up_timeless_tidings_carolpaynestamps1

I love this tree and the Timeless Tidings sentiment!

Stampin_up_timeless_tidings_carolpaynestamps3

Finally, Ruth Bingle combined the Subtles and Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Folders with the Wishing You Well stamp set:

Stampin_up_wishing_you_well_carolpaynestamps1

Ruth embellished with Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini-Striped Ribbon:

Stampin’ Up! Another Spirited Snowman Skating Ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Another Spirited Snowman Skating Ornament!

Hey there! Today I have one more Spirited Snowmen ornament to share with you, and then it's back to the craft table for some serious stamping time! It's actually pretty neat now it works out – seems like I manage to get a pile of things stamped right before I have a stretch of time where I'm either busy with my family or prepping for classes! Then I have new things to share even when I'm not stamping every day!

Today I have this cute guy to share again, only in a different color combo! I stamped the little skating guy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink so I could color him with my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I used Light Real Red, Light Bermuda Bay, Light Pool Party, Dark Pumpkin Pie, Dark Basic Black, and Light Smoky Slate!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps1

After I finished coloring him I covered his face and body with Clear Wink of Stella and traced around him with my Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps2

I inked "winter cheer" on the edge of my Versamark ink pad so only "cheer" was inked. After I stamped it on a 1/2" wide strip of Bermuda Bay  I sprinkled with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heated with my Heat Tool.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps4

A pretty quick and easy ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! We had a FULL day yesterday! We celebrated October birthdays at our house AND took our annual family pictures! I'm excited to see how they turn out! It's extra-nice to be the photographer's mom!

With all of the prep for that going on, I never got a chance to blog my usual Sunday Swap Day, so I'm going to share it with you today!

First, a z-fold card created by Tandra Boyer with the Merry Christmas to All Bundle and All Is Bright Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_with_all_is_bright_designer_series_paper_carolpaynestamps1

She stamped inside with a Timeless Tidings sentiment:

Next, an anonymous creator also used the Timeless Tidings set with All Is Bright Designer Series Paper for their Diagonal Fold card:

Stampin_up_timeless_tidings_with_all_is_bright_designer_series_paper_carolpaynestamps1

Kathy Beck combined the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper, Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper and a tree cut with an In the Woods Framelit Die. She finished off her tree with a splatter of Bright Copper Shimmer Paint!

Stampin_up_winter_woods_with_joyous_noel_specialty_designer_series_paper_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, Cindy Ewertz used the Dashing Along Designer Paper (a Host Exclusive in September and now retired) with the Maps, Etc. Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Winter Woods stamp set to create her diagonal fold card. She added a few rhinestones and a 3/16" Braided Linen Trim bow.

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Snowmen Ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Snowmen Ornament!

Hey there! I couldn't resist using the Spirited Snowmen set to create an ornament or two! I matches the card I shared with you yesterday! One thing I noticed is how different the snowman looks simply by changing the placement on the paper!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps1

I sandwiched 3/16" Braided Trim between the oval layers for the ornament hanger. This would also make an adorable gift tag!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps2

To color this fellow, I first stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is perfectly formulated to come in contact with the alcohol-based Stampin' Blends, which is what I used to color the snowman hat, scarf, arms, buttons, and nose! I used a White Stampin' Chalk Marker to color the snowman head & body. A Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush lends snowy shimmer!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps3

I traced around the snowman with my Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to give him more depth and a look of movement.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps4

I used a Palette Knife to smear the Shimmery White Embossing Paste on just about every edge on this ornament! I heat embossed "CHEER" with white powder before snipping one end into banner points and adding Shimmery White Embossing Paste "snow".
