Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Swappin’ With the Mams!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Swappin’ With the Mams!

Hey there! Today I’m sharing cards from our Yes Mam! Stamper’s Shoebox Swap! For a shoebox swap we bring all of the supplies in a “shoebox”  and then stamp each other’s creations!

First, Angela Black featured the Lemon Zest  set. She used Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black, and Whisper White for a citrus-y look. The Lemon Zest set is also bundled with the Lemon Builder Punch. We didn’t use it on this card, be we did on the next one!

Next, Linda Reaney's creation feastured Daisy Delight Bundle. She used the leaf stamp from Lemon Zest and the Lemon Builder Punch to add leaves behind the flower! Punches are a quick and easy way to add depth and texture to your cards.

Angie Lisk  used the Wood Textures Suite. The Bermuda Bay-stamped rooster is cut out with a circle and a square Stitched Shapes framelit,

Cathy Lingle's seascape with Colorful Seasons, Seaside Textured folder, and a beach umbrella fashioned from a Delicate White Doily! LOVE her addition of burlap ribbon for the “sand”!

Kari Dillingham used the Petal Garden designer paper with the Floral Statements stamps. It was easy to color with markers and watercolor pencils because the shading is included in the stamped image!

Katie Wolters used Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle. I love everything about her card!

Martha Swift used the Climbing Orchid Bundle for her charming double-door card:

Finally, Joanne Cantrell had us make the middle of these Daisy Delight cards. Starting basic:

We made this stepped-up version:

Avid crafter version with emboss resist for the background!

We had so much fun chatting and sharing while we stamped. Join my team of Yes Mam! Stampers this month, Become a part of our sisterhood!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words In Color Bookmark!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words In Color Bookmark!

Hey there! I've been working on these new In Color Bookmarks to give to everyone who attends my New Catalog Open House! Stampin' Up! was kind enough to prepare a template for this; all I had to do was download, print, and then stamp, punch, and add ribbon! Aren't they pretty!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped each color with a different image from the Wood Words stamp set. You are going to have to have Wood Words! The set has 15 stamps, six distressed-looking solid images,  a lovely gathering of blooms, and 8 phrases. It's eclectic and kind of country.

I stamped the rooster with Fresh Fig!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps6

The heart looks so pretty stamped in Berry Burst!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps5

I chose Powder Pink to stamp the circle!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps4

Lemon Lime Twist is a great star color!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps3

Tranquil Tide makes a lovely color for the moon!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps2

I used 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon to thread through the top of each bookmark. Attendees will get to choose the color they like best: Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, or Tranquil Tide!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words Bookmark Card!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words Bookmark Card!

Hey there! Today I have a fun and easy card idea with a bookmark on the front held in place with just two little die-cuts! I'm working on my New Catalog Open House projects, these might be one of the Make & Takes. I use the Wood Textures Suite from pages 158-149 of the new catalog.

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps1

All are very rustic and sort of manly. The images in the Wood Words stamp set are rustic and distressed-looking, perfect to pair with Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Chocolate Chip! I used Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for the top layer of the bookmark, stamping directly on the DSP for a custom look!

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps2

After punching the top of the 2" wide bookmark with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, I added a 6" piece of new 1/4" Copper Trim. This trim is AMAZING! It starts out 1/4" wide, but because it is not tightly woven, you can pull on the edges and stretch it out! Love the dimension this adds to the project! The trim almost looks ruffled! (it also looks kind of spider-webby, so we shall see what we can do with it later for Halloween!)

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps3

I used the coordinating Wood Crate Framelit Dies to cut out the stamped rooster. The Wood Crate Framelits contain 6 dies consisting of the rooster, a star, a half-moon, a heart, a tag, and a die to crate a "wood crate"! I adhered just the head, the front of the chest, and the feet of the rooster with Liquid Glue so I could slide the bookmark under the tail. I adhered a second rooster on the lower right side of the bookmark to complete the slot to insert the tag.

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps4

The Wood Words images are an eclectic mix of florals, bold images, and phrases. A great mix!

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps6

Another color combo for the same card idea. I used a 1" Circle Punch because there isn't a Wood Crate die for it.

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps8

And a third idea using White Craft ink to stamp the star on Early Espresso before cutting with the Wood Crate star die.

Stampin_up_wood_words_bookmark_carolpaynestamps10

Well, this post has turned out to be much longer than I expected, so I'll leave you with the link to shop in my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words for Morgan!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words for Morgan!

Hey there stamping friends! A little late with my post today, but a post is a post, right?

Last week I created this card to go along with a wedding shower gift. The invitation was unique but pre-printed. I pulled out my new Wood Words stamp set and Pretty Label Punch to create a card that had the same essence:

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps3

Crumb Cake, Tranquil Tide, and white heat embossing!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps1

After heat embossing the bloom stamp in opposite corners I colored in select flowers and leaves with Watercolor Pencils.

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps5

I used Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Bermuda Bay Watercolor Pencils like crayons. I didn't do any blending or add moisture after coloring.

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps6

For the label greeting I white heat-embossed a image from the upcoming Label Me Pretty on a scrap of Crumb Cake. I had to emboss a second one because I didn't leave enough room on the first one to punch with the curvy Pretty Label Punch.

Stampin_up_label_me_pretty_carolpaynestamps1

After punching with the Pretty Label Punch and stamping a greeting from the new Colorful Seasons set with Tranquil Tide ink, I punched a second Pretty Label from Tranquil Tide card stock and then cut it in half like a "hot dog bun".

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps7

I adhered the two halves to the back side of the stamped label with SNAIL, then added a couple of dimensionals.

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps8

The result: an easy Tranquil Tide "stretched" label to back the greeting!

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps10

I used the Best Badge Punch to make the scallop edge along the side of the card.

Stampin_up_best_badge_scallop_edge_carolpaynestamps1

Inside I added a phrase from Colorful Seasons with Tranquil Tide ink.
