Crosses of Hope!

Crosses of Hope!

One of my hostesses last month, Stephanie Little, requested a card using the set, "Crosses of Hope", which was a set I didn't have, but am really enjoying now that I have it. Here is my creation for her party, a sample I CASED from another demo, and  a couple more swaps I received just this past month, so I have a mini-collection with this set for my display!

We embossed Cardstock Vellum with the "Vintage Wallpaper" Textured Impressions Folder, then attached it to the Marina Mist cardstock base with Mini glue-dots behind the busy-ness of the embossed vellum. Usually it is tricky to attach vellum to anything because the adhesive shows, but after embossing, it's easy to get a clean, finished look! It's really a simple card, I just embossed the cross in the Bashful Blue center with Versamark and White embossing powder, then added a Basic Jewel Pearl in the center! "Thinking of You" is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes", and we stamp the inside verse (not shown) is from "God's Blessings". This card can be tailored to any occasions just by using these two sets!

This is the first of the two "Crosses of Hope" swaps I received, this one by Dianne O'Connor, uses Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride, a beautiful combo!

Ruth Bingle created this sample, coloring in the Staz-on Black stamped cross with our Stampin' Write markers in Perfect Plum, So Saffron, and Pear Pizzazz! The "Easter Wishes" phrase is from "Something to Celebrate", the Level 2 Hostess set in the Occasions Mini!

Last, here is a card I CASED from Brandy Cox. I used the "Framed Tulips" Textured Impressions Folder with Garden Green and So Saffron cardstock, then cut them diagonally in half with the Paper cutter. I black embossed the cross before coloring with markers, blotting the excess ink from the embossing with a tissue, (if you don't blot the excess, it will never dry on the embossing and you'll have a mess!) cutting out with Paper Snips, then running the side of a Basic Black marker around the edges of the cross before SNAILING the cut out cross to the Whisper White background.

Happy Easter Wishes!

Happy Easter Wishes!

A couple of co-ordinating cards for Easter today!

Ruth Anne Lilley used the "Baby Blossoms" Occasions Mini set along with the cardstock colors of Crumb Cake, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride. The center of the Crumb Cake frame has been punched with the Wide Oval punch. Unfortunately, although the frame appears to be punch-able with the Decorative Label punch, it is actually larger than this punch and it has to be hand-cut with Paper Snips!

Cherri Gustafson  created this card with the Occasions Mini "Build a Blossom" and "Blossoms Petal" punch. She used Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the flower center and the Occasions Mini "Something to Celebrate" Level 2 Hostess set "Easter Wishes" to finish off this beautiful card!

Celebrate!

Celebrate!

Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate! is what this card is all about! Raedean Shibata used the greeting from the Occasions Mini Level 2 Hostess set, "Something to Celebrate!" to make this card a happy one! She stamped the greeting three times, first in Tangerine Tango, next in  Peach Parfait, then last in a once stamped-off Daffodil Delight. These colors are all found in the "Sunny Garden" Designer Paper she used from page 174 of the Big Catalog, along with the "Fun Flowers" Bigz L Die from the Occasions Mini! Raedean stamped the large flourish in Pear Pizzazz from "Baroque Motifs" on page 132 of the Big Catalog as the perfect Background! She made her own bling-y brad by adding Super Nova Stampin' Glitter to a 5/8" Jumbo brad with Crystal Effects, and awesome touch!

Here's another "no name", but they did a great job in the "Clean & Simple" category with "Clearly for You" from the Occasions Mini, the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border punch, and the "Sweet Buttons" Embosslit from the Occasions Mini! Perhaps they forgot that the wheeled border at the bottom is a retired wheel, but "Petite Petals" Jumbo Wheel on page 106 would make a great current alternative!

Tammy Overstreet has combined the "Vintage Wallpaper" Textured Impressions Folder with the "Fun Flowers" Die and some "Chantilly" Crochet trim to create a soft, feminine, vintage-y look! She also used the "Petals-a-Plenty" Textured Impressions Folder, then punched out an individual circle flower as the center of her flower! The addition of the the tiny "Basic Jewels" pearl is the perfect finishing touch!

I promised . . .

I promised . . .

Last week at a workshop, one of my stampers, Jennifer, requested I post these cards to my blog, so here you go, Jennifer!

This first card was a swap I received at Leadership, but I have no idea who made it! Sometimes demos forget to put their names on their swaps in the last minute rush to comlete them, which makes it impossible to give credit for their beautiful artwork!

This card used the SAB set, "Punch Bunch" for the focal point owl. He is stamped in Concord Crush ink, then punched with the "Two-Step Owl" punch. The "Square Lattice" Textured Impressions Folder was used on the Very Vanilla Background, and the "Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border" punch was used for the trim on his party hat! We stamped "happy birthday" from "Curly Cute" from page 149 of the Big Catalog in Concord Crush on the Pear Pizazz layer, then tied a piece of Concord Crush 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon around it before attaching to the cardfront with Stampin' Dimensionals!

The branch the owl is sitting on is punched from the "Two-step Bird" punch, the pom-pom on his hat is with the 1/2" Circle punch, and the circle behind the owl is cut from the In-Color Designer Paper Pack Level 1 hostess and the 3" Circle Die for the Big Shot in the Occasions Mini!

Swaps don't usually have an inside, they are usually just fronts, so for the inside of this card I used stamps from "Party Hearty" on page 54 of the Big Catalog, stamped with Concord Crush ink and punched with the 1 3/4" Circle punch!

You may have already viewed this card in this post:

More Workshop Cards!

but this was the other card Jennifer wanted me to post, so I am re-posting it again along with the inside!

I used the "Perfect Polka Dots" Textured Impressions Folder on the Pink Pirouette background layer and the Pink Pirouette flower layer. The flower I cut out with the "Fun Flowers" Big Shot Die from the Occasions Mini. The flower center was punched from the Occasions Mini "Red Glimmer" paper with a 1/2" Circle punch. For the leaves I punched Wild Wasabi cardstock with the Small Oval punch, folded them in 1/2 along a pre-scored line, then ran them through the "Paper Crimper" to get the "leafy" look! The tag was stamped with one of the Hostess Level 2 sets, "Cute by the Inch", and then puched with the Small Tag punch, then layered on a Red Glimmer Large Tag. The red brad from the "Glimmer Brights" brads on page 31 of the Occasions Mini perfectly match the Red Glimmer paper, I hope we get more paper to match these!

Here's the inside, words from the Level 2 Hostess set, "Something to Celebrate" from the Occasions mini, inked with Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Markers, and punched with the Decorative Label punch!
