Stampin’ Up! Retiring Holiday Catalog!!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Holiday Catalog!!

Hey there! With the Year End Closeout Sale in full swing, I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some swaps from OnStage using retiring Holiday Catalog products. Even though the Holiday Catalog runs through January 2nd, the retiring items are now while-supplies last!

First, this swap was created with the retiring Bring on the Presents Bundle of stamps and dies to make a cute little treat box!

You can order this bundle in my online store. Click on the pic to go there!

Next,  retiring All Is Bright Designer Series Paper and Making Christmas Bright stamps were used to create this treat packet:

Finally for today, this little Scalloped Tag Topper Punch treat box features the Santa's Workshop  Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is already sold out. However, the Farmhouse Christmas (Happy Christmas Wishes) is NOT sold out and the starry flourish from Star of Light is still found in the Annual Catalog.

I think I have made a similar box in the past, so I'm going to try this one out again!

This color combo of Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, and Garden Green is just so festive!

Stampin’ Up! Winter Wonder Stepped Up!

Stampin’ Up! Winter Wonder Stepped Up!

Hey there! Christmas. I love the season and the reason, but this year seems to be particularly hard to keep up with everything.

For my post today I'm sharing the final card I created for the December Creative Crew Challenge "Winter Wonderland". First I created the simple card I shared with you HERE, and then I created another, similar but stepped-up with more layers and embellishments:

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped the Pool Party layer with the snowflake image from Tags & Trimmings with Soft Sky ink before embossing with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Folder.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

I added a layer of Whisper White between the Dapper Denim card base and Pool Party embossed layer for a bit of pop!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps3

I sponged the raised embossed lines lightly with Pool Party and added a single pearl to the center.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps4

I used a Star of Light sentiment, cut with a Stitched Shapes framelit and backed with a scalloped Dapper Denim oval cut with a Layering Ovals framelit.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps5

There's an Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek on this card. See that Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon? You will be able to order a roll of it for yourself on January 3rd!

Inside I used another Star of Light sentiment and stamped more Tags & Trimmings snowflakes. Extra sponging on the edges with Soft Sky ink gives this card a soft look.

Stampin’ Up! Season Like Christmas Bridge Fold!

Stampin’ Up! Season Like Christmas Bridge Fold!

Hey there! I haven't been posting here as often as I would like, but you know how crazy December can be! I'm still stamping, and not without things to share, so bear with me, I will be posting as often as I can!

Today I have another project from my December group of creations for the December Creative Crew at Splitcoaststampers. This card is a bit of a "step-up" from my last post with based on the inspiration photo. I used the bridge-fold technique  with Versamark Resist:

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_bridge_carolpaynestamps1

The Bridge Fold is fun because it easily stands up for display, but also folds flat for mailing.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_bridge_carolpaynestamps2

Versamark Resist is very similar to the Crayon Resist technique I used on my last Creative Crew project. I stamped the more open tree image from Season Like Christmas with Dapper Denim ink first, then stamped with the more solid image over the first with Versamark ink. I let the Versamark dry for a bit (or you can speed up the drying time with a Heat Tool.) I added 3/4" punched circle for the moon, then used a sponge brayer to add Smoky Slate ink over the entire piece for a great moonlight look. I stamped snowflakes from Tags & Trimmings with Smoky Slate ink before I removed the mask. Smoky Slate stamped shows up darker than Smoky Slate applied with a Sponge Brayer! I stamped a sentiment from Star of Light with Basic Black ink.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_bridge_carolpaynestamps3

I used Glossy card stock again for the snowy scene and the greeting strip on the bridge. As you can see with the "Merry Christmas" from Star of Light  stamped with Basic Black ink, you have to be careful stamping on Glossy card stock. It's easy to slide your stamp on the slick glossy surface! I was ok with the way this one turned out because it looks like an intentional "ghost image" behind it.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps4

I used a die from the Starlight Thinlets to cut a bit of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for a star/snowflake embellishment on each side of the greeting. I added a single rhinestone for some sparkle.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day November 19th on Monday the 20th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day November 19th on Monday the 20th!

Hey there! We celebrated two birthdays yesterday! Two of my sons have birthdays this week;  Troy's birthday was yesterday and Logan's is on Wednesday. With both of their birthdays so close to Thanksgiving (Logan was born the day before Thanksgiving) their celebrations have sometimes gotten lost in the shuffle of the holidays. We decided to not let that happen this year!

This is a good group of cards, so let's get started!

First, a lovely Carols of Christmas swap featuring the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Marbled Background. Silver Glimmer paper, Silver Sequin Trim, and Rhinestone Basic Jewels add fun sparkle. This card was created by Cathy Miller.

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

Next, an Eclipse technique Christmas card using the Large Letter Alphabet Framelits and Christmas Pines stamps. Created by Landa Cartwright

Stampin_up_christmas_pines_carolpaynestamps1

"to the world" is from Hearts Come Home.

Stampin_up_christmas_pines_carolpaynestamps2

Carol Slack sponged a background of Pool Party and Dapper Denim, then subtly stamped snowflakes with Whisper White Craft ink. She cut the houses and church with the Hometown Greetings Edgelits, the tree with a Card Front Builder Dies. She added little pieces of So Saffron card stock behind the windows to make light "shine" through. The greeting is from Star of Light in the Annual Catalog.

Stampin_up_hearts_come_home_carolpaynestamps1

Lovely as a Tree has been in the catalog since before I became a demonstrator over 15 years ago, but it's still a favorite of just about everyone! The creator of this easel card stamped the Night of Navy card base with the Sheet Music background, then heat-embossed the tree with white powder on vellum. This card could easily be a luminaria; all it needs is a battery votive inside!

Stampin_up_lovely_as_a_tree_carolpaynestamps1

Silver 1/8" ribbon, a Foil Snowflake, and rhinestones add sparkle. The greeting is from Christmas Quilt.

Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live Swaps!

Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live Swaps!

Hey there! As promised, today I have a few swaps to share with you from OnStage Live in Salt Lake City last week. These are not the only swaps I will be sharing, be assured there are more! I won't be sharing them everyday; I'll just sprinkle them in now and then!

Today's swaps are timely because they are Christmas-themed!

Some of today's swaps I can give credit to and some I cannot as these were swapped by the girls from my team at OnStage and some swaps just don't have a creator's name!

This first swap is anonymous, but is a lovely combo of Carols of Christmas, Card Front Builder Thinlets dies, and Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. Combined with a Crumb Cake card base, this card has a great homespun look!

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps

Stacy MIller also used the Carols of Christmas bundle, but with a completely different look. Gold Foil behind the top layer adds just the right amount of glow to this nighttime snowy scene!

The Christmas Quilt Suite was used for this fun swap!

Dava Tutt combined Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Paper with the Every Good Wish set:

A fun non-traditional color combo of Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist with the Ready for Christmas bundle:

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Slider!

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Slider!

Hey there! Another of my favorite projects I shared with Vacation Stamping School were these two slider cards I created with the Night in Bethlehem set:

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps1

First I created this Versamark Resist version. To do the Versamark Resist technique, I stamped the "milky way" stars image from Star of Light and the Nativity star from Night in Bethlehem with Versamark on glossy card stock. I then used a Sponge Brayer to roll first Soft Sky and then Night of Navy over the stamped images. After I got the color intensity I wanted I then rubbed the images gently with a Kleenex to remove the excess ink. The Versamark "resisted" the ink, leaving soft star images.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps2
For my "stepped-up" version I heat embossed the same images on glossy card stock with white and silver embossing powder before brayering the same Soft Sky/Night of Navy colors over them. After rubbing away the excess ink with a Kleenex I then sponged the edges with Basic Black ink. I mounted the piece on Basic Black, then added it to a Basic Black/Merry Music Specialty Paper layer that I punched with the Classic Label Punch to create the slider opening.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps5
I stamped the "milky way" image with stamped-off Night of Navy ink and then stamped the Night in Bethlehem sentiment with Basic Black ink on a 2" x 4 1/2" strip that I punched one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create the end to attach the ribbon pull.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps6
I added a 1/4" wide strip to both sides of the other end of the tag to create a "stop" so the tag won't fall out of the opening.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps7

I finished off the tag with Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edged Ribbon for the pull.

Inside I finished with the Star of Light "milky way" and Night in Bethlehem images:
