Stampin’ Up! Serene Silhouettes Swap to Share!

Stampin’ Up! Serene Silhouettes Swap to Share!

Good morning! Still mining my swap stash while I play "catch-up" from being sick!

Todays card is one I don't really enjoy making, but they have to be done, don't they?

The creator of the card used Serene Silhouettes and Thoughts & Prayers stamp sets, the Oval Collection Framelits, the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Folder, Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Pool Party Core'dinations cardstock, and Island Indigo and Whisper White cardstock to create a truly serene, restful card.

Serene silhouettes

I apologize for the poor lighting. I took these pictures while still stuck on the couch sick on Monday. Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers were used to ink up the flower image (what kind of flower IS that, anyway? I'm not a horticulturist!), then tiny Basic Jewel Pearls were added to finish them off sweetly.

Thanks for stopping by! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! A Swap to Share!

Stampin’ Up! A Swap to Share!

Good morning! I was miserably sick yesterday with the stomach flu. I'm glad I had prepped my blog post on Sunday night, because I had no brains for anything yesterday morning, or for most of the day.

With that said, obviously I did NO STAMPING yesterday at all, so have nothing new to share from me, but I still have some swaps in the vault I haven't shared, so for the next few days that is what I'm going to show you while I play "catch up" with my house, laundry, & business so I can focus on baby Oakley when he arrives! He's due this Friday, so it can't be much longer, can it? Alisa mentioned a few days ago she was beginning to think she was going to be pregnant forever, which of course means it won't be much longer!

Today's card comes from the monthly swap I participate in and uses the Sweetly Framed Hostess set. It's a darling set, especially paired with the Gingham Garden Designer Paper! The background is embossed with the new Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder, and the "for you" greeting is punched with the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch and layered on Artisan Label-punched layers!

Sweetly framed hostess 1

Inside the frame included in the set was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink, then the "Happy Birthday Wishes" from the Simply Sketched Hostess set was stamped inside with Island Indigo ink!

Sweetly framed hostess 2

That's all for now! I'm actually typing this post on Monday night to schedule for Tuesday morning, and I'm about worn out!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Bundle!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Bundle!

Good morning! Hope you are enjoying a long July 4th weekend! Today I want to share with you another card we will be making at my SWOW class next weekend using the Flower Shop Bundle, Dictionary Background stamp, the My Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit, and the Four You stamp set!

The Flower Shop Bundle listed on page 95 is one of several bundles Stampin' Up! is featuring in the New Catalog this year. Stamps are bundled with a coordinating punch or framelits to give the stamper a 15% discount when they buy the two products together! Look for the blue-framed bundles to get the item code and prices for a Wood-Mount Bundle or a Clear-Mount Bundle!

Flower shop 1

The colors are Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, and Perfect Plum. I found my color combo by using the NEW Color Coach! I've never really been a Color Coach fan, but after fooling around with this one a bit, I think I'm going to be using it more and more all the time! I LOVE these colors together!

Sahara Sand
Blushing bride
Perfect Plum

I made the flower centers with the Simply Pressed Clay and the "blossom" mold from the Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds. After pressing a little ball of the clay into the mold I popped it into the freezer for about 10-30 minutes (depending on how long it took me to remember to take it out, lol!), then popped the blossom out of the mold. After allowing it to air-dry for about 24 hours, I first spritzed them with a mixture of 91% rubbing alcohol and reinker, allowed that to dry for a few minutes, then used a Sponge Dauber to sponge on additional ink. They were then attached to the flower with a Glue Dot. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and were punched with the Bird Builder Punch.

Flower shop 3

Inside I stamped a phrase from Really Good Greetings on page 38, then added another leaf branch and a couple of tiny flowers punched with the 4-petal flower punch in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I used my White Gel Pen for the flower centers.

Flower shop 2

Well, that's all for today!  If you want to make this card, you can either visit my Online Store by clicking on the "Shop Now" button on the upper left side of this blog or RSVP to come to the SWOW class next weekend on the 12th or the 13th!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope the rest of your day Stampingrox!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Butterflies in Flight!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Butterflies in Flight!

Good morning! Happy 4th of July! Hope you have something fun on your agenda for today, and I hope you take time to be thankful for the freedom and liberty we all enjoy but take for granted!

Today's card uses a technique I've been  admiring for awhile but hadn't tried yet, and I'm not sure what its' official name is, but for this one I'm calling it "butterflies in flight"!

I stamped this butterfly from the Best of Butterflies stamp set in Jet Black StazOn all along the edge of this Whisper White Notecard. I added the colors of Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Wisteria Wonder to the butterflies with a Sponge Dauber, then used my Paper Snips to cut out the edges of the notecard and partially around the butterflies to give the allusion of the butterflies "fluttering" off the page!

Butterfly hi 1

I stamped the "hi" from Regarding Dahlias, then added a butterfly for the dot in the "i" that was stamped with a Papillon Potpourri butterfly, and punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I added a Basic Black grounding layer to the back of the notecard just to give it a little more pop and substance since Whisper White cardstock is a bit thin as a card base. I finished off the butterflies with small Basic Jewel Pearls.

Butterfly hi 2
The inside layer has a Wisteria Wonder panel that has been embossed with the Modern Mosaic folder, and the greeting is from the 25th Anniversary set, Best of Greetings.

That's all for now. We are planning to have a get-together with some of Mark's family this evening. We missed the local fireworks because they were last Saturday out at the lake. I never have understood having fireworks early instead of ON the weekend the 4th is closest to, but they don't ask my opinion, so there you go.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
